Today there are many more heating options for your home than in days past. Such as the traditional heating systems which use a heat pump system or there are newer systems such as the Mitsubishi Mini-Split system. Some systems are more efficient than others.
It seems that more recently in the U.S. these min splits systems have become more popular and widespread in installation and use. The first ductless mini split system was invented in Japan in 1959. Mitsubishi is still to this day one of the top mini split producers. After much trial-and-error, Mitsubishi came up with the ductless system. These first systems were extremely large, clunky and manufactured close together; they were also very loud.
These systems became very popular in recent years in Europe and the Middle East but took much longer (decades) for the U.S. to start appreciating and using.
At Hanson Carlen, we have found that these mini split units are more efficient than your typical HVAC system and can help with energy bill savings. They make less noise, and they are less bulky, as the manufacturing company has worked on and found ways to slimline the body of the units.

Nice. I’m wondering whether I should go with the heat pump or just insulation or mini split. Wondering what you gets the best for your money?

Can't go wrong with insulation. Maybe a single or dual zone split in the areas you use most of the time.

We appreciate your comment! Natural gas has been a reliable preferred choice for us too. Living and building homes in Washington state, we've encountered a shift towards heat pumps. Sadly, this change comes in response to a state-wide restriction on the use of natural gas in new construction projects.
