You either need the physical discs or original copies of the discs for this patch to work. Below are the specific versions of each game that you will need:
- Shining Force III - NA or PAL Version
- Shining Force III: Scenario 2 - Japanese Version
- Shining Force III: Scenario 3 - Japanese Version
- Shining Force III: Premium Disc - Japanese Version (If you have it, not necessary.)
You can find the above games in their physical form on eBay and possibly Amazon. Just head to either website and search for the game titles above, good luck. If you are looking for original copies of these discs or the BIOS file for the Sega Saturn I cannot tell you where you can find those online. However, Google is your friend. Just make sure you download from sites that YOU TRUST!

If you choose to go that route to obtain the software you would need, beyond what is available in the links below, IT WILL BE AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Just started playing scenario 1 the other day so this is perfect timing! Thank you so much!
You're welcome!
Gonna try this soon if I can get the games!
Loved the first one but never could play the other 2 here in the EU, so this is huge for me!
Many thanks for the vid :)
No problem! Remember that this will patch copies of the game as well. It's just really hard to find physical copies anymore.
Thanks for the vid!
No problem, thank you!
I keep getting errors after the welcome back line, even using the PAL version of scenario 1, gives me errors for other 2 scenarios as well
I'm not sure on that. I'd suggest making a post on Shining Force Central
Are you able to burn these onto a disc and play them on a mod Saturn? I’m new at this and just trying to figure all this stuff out. Thanks for the vid!
This is taken directly from the website. However, I'm not really familiar with mod-chips.
"The preferred method of playing the SF3 patched disc image is to burn it to a CDR and play it on actual mod-chipped Saturn hardware. If you don’t have a mod-chipped Saturn, get one. As an alternative, the Swap Trick can be used. If you can afford an Optical Drive Replacement, that’s probably the best option of them all."
@@LinkinForcer Gotcha, thanks for the help!
Need a video on how to properly transfer scenario 1 complete data to scenario 2. I can't seem to figure it out.
It should just read off your save
Hey thanks for the video everything is working fine but I have a slight issue with saving the game so I can have the data for scenario 1 to 2 every time I try to save it says insufficient memory to save the file
Not sure why that would happen. I'd head over to Shining Force Central, join there forum and see what they say. I'd would be your best bet in this situation.
@@LinkinForcer after some digging on the web I figured out a way to do it thanks got the tutorial

Want to share what you found?
I click on the file "SF Translation.exe" but the link does not open into a new browser at 8:19. Is there a direct link you can share?
It's working for me. It should open to a blank page and start downloading the file or just automatically download the file. Make sure you don't have a virus program or add-on to your web browser blocking the download.
I do not have a direct link unfortunately. If you continue to have issues I'd suggest reaching out to Shining Force Central themselves.
So at the start of the SSF section you say you don't need the Bios, but then you say in order to get things running properly, you do need a bios!?
You don't need the bios to run SSF. But I've been told that the bios is needed for SSF to function so that certain aspects of the game or the emulator will function properly. Im not sure whst those would be though. But the game is 100% playable without the bios. I've used SSF without the bios many times and everything was fine.
@@LinkinForcer okay, that makes sense. Thanks
Translation project didn't find the cue :'(
Did you mount it Ina virtual drive?
In the Public Domain Archive Org. Some Bios file are available. just saying.
Thanks for the info
@@LinkinForcer Some might have need to renaming correctly. Because they are named by region and version. But it is easy info to get in RetroArch Desktop view.
@@MrGlandeux Awesome, thanks again for the helpful info!
everytime i try to do this (mind u im mounting it with virtual clone drive t gives me a index error i there a fix for this)
Not sure, never heard of that error.
I'm hoping this works on TerraOnions's MODE.
I just got the Saturn modded and got all the roms.
As long as it reads the file type for the rom it should.
@@LinkinForcer Now onto finding a way to patch Dragonforce 2, Vandal Hearts, and a few others.
@@magacop5180 Good luck, glad the video helped you out with this game!
Has anyone gotten this to work on steam deck? Not working for me :(
Best advice I have for you is to patch it all on a PC. Then transfer the games over to the steam deck and run them through an emulator. Not sure is steam OS supports emulators though.
@@LinkinForcer I'll give it a shot
@@yugicardlord8631 Let me know how it goes.
