Correction: DO NOT use the GameShark for the Sega Saturn because the gold connectors on that cartridge fit so tight in the cartridge slot's reader, that it can damage it. So you DEFINITELY don't want to use the Saturn GameShark.

Just overwrite a GameShark or an Action replay card and make your own Pseudo Saturn cart. You gotta disc swap and open the console to tape the sensor but after that you can rewrite the cart and it’s a Pseudo Saturn cart now. For much cheaper.

the saturn fenrir is a card that you install to your model 1 sega saturn. it doesn't work with the model 2. it's a physical modification you have to do to your console. @@Greg-xi8yx
I can't afford those (nor the satiator), but I can afford a bundle of CDs, and luckily for me, almost every Saturn sold in my country ended up being modchipped back in the day, and I still have a couple of CD burners.
My only problem with doing that is , the board for the mem card plus carts can stretch your pins which in time will mess up your ram slot . What I like to do is burn pseudo Saturn onto a disc Grab an action replay that has pseudo Saturn flashed Run the disc until I hit the flasher Pull the flashed pseudo Saturn action replay cart out Put an unflashed action replay cart in Flash it ---> and then I just made another pseudo saturn cart without buying an after market cart

Get a cartridge that lets you play back-up discs and you can buy any game on Saturn for very cheap even translated games that weren't originally localized, for a little more money you can even get correct disc art and game cases.
Worth noting that while this will bypass the region lock and allow games to boot, all titles will still be locked to your console's native video signal. This is fine if you're playing Japanese games on a US console or vice versa, since both countries use the same NTSC video standard, but an unmodded PAL Saturn with a Pseudo Saturn will force any NTSC games into PAL, which not only makes the games play slower (50Hz vs 60Hz), but also creates compatibility issues with some games, ranging from garbled or out of sync audio in cutscenes in some games to random freezing in others. Grandia is the worst game I can think of in this regard, with broken audio in the cutscenes and occasional freezes when transitioning between the world map and other scenes, but there are others. There are also a handful of games that are optimised for PAL that will have the same problem in reverse if you force them to 60Hz on an NTSC console, though this is obviously a less common issue. So yeah, great tip and it's nice that it's so easy to boot foreign games on a Saturn nowadays, but it's really only halfway to a truly region free console, and a 50Hz / 60Hz switch is pretty essential, especially for those on PAL consoles.

No I wasn't born with money I'm 43 years old and have a job and brought a Saturn over a playstation unlike most, and got a lot off game's cheap when it started too fail and when a lot off game stores were dumping there stock and was smart enough to hold on too my Saturn as well just like my mega CD 32x etc

Yeah I got mine at launch. A few years later I bought a Japanese one which I still have. It's crazy how expensive the games have become. I remember in the 90s when they were so cheap and easy to get. I have two boxes filled with Saturn games that if I were to sell them I could buy a Tesla car, which is nuts!

Playing a fan translation is not piracy, especially if you own the Japanese original version of the game. Piracy is when you play a game that you don't own a copy of or a license to. Rom hacks and translations don't count because they are usually distributed as patches which you must apply to your original copy of a game in order to get the desired translation or game changes. Also, the Saturn is long discontinued as all Sega hardware. No one is going to care what you do with your Saturn these days. Unless you start making massive profits, no intellectual property holders are going to come after you for any discontinued hardware (because they're not losing any money in the process). There has to be a financial gain for them to come after you with legal action. Otherwise they won't bother. The sole exception to this in the video game industry is Nintendo. They come after you for everything if you aren't licensed to use their IP in a way that they don't agree with, whether you're making a profit from it or not. For example, they don't want people using a CD-ROM addon on the N64 despite the fact that they don't even manufacture or sell N64 consoles anymore.

Pseudosaturn does, I don't have an action replay to test, however memorycard+ does not
