Potatoes love acidic soil. Also ... I've found vinegar useful to make soil more acidic. Now. Here is another use ... garden lime is for calcium AND for reducing acidity ... so ... if your soil needs calcium, adding garden lime will work bug it will reduce acidity. Vinegar can counter-balance what lime does to acidity levels.
Helpful! Thank you!
You're welcome
Love your video
Thank you
Um, so I use vinegar in my garden all the time. I put about a Tablespoon or two in a gallon to two gallons of water, and my acid loving plants absolutely LOVE IT. Perks them right up. Have you ever tried it? ❤️ work great 👍
I am trying to save a very young blueberry bush. I’m going to try what you said. Cure it or kill it is my motto. Lol. Thx for your comment
That's a very low concentrate of acid so it likely won't have too much effect on surrounding plants and soils. For this purpose the vinegar sounds like it works for you, but in most other cases in the garden the acidity of vinegar will do more harm than good because it affects everything and doesn't discriminate.
Thanks for the video that doesn't say use to vinegar and salt. I can't imagine using salt so nothing will grow in or above the soil. Also before buying an industrial strength vinegar (acetic acid) check the safety data sheet.
You're welcome.
How to use lemon juice to acidify soil for cranberry... ?
I really love how yall live and I want to live that way so bad but I can't get my wife to understand way it is so much better for us and I would really like someone like yall to talk to her and try to make her understand why it is so much better to that way ......
Tell her to look at what is happening to the economy and food prices.
She likes her life as is, it's soft and convenient. Once she realizes that life no longer exists, it'll be too late. So enjoy the time you have left, cause that's all you can do.
I put vinegar in a pot and place it near my plants. This eliminates flies etc
Thank you for bursting my bubble!
🤣
Actually, thanks for giving us the facts.
So, is there anything at all that is ok for killing weeds in the garden?
You’re welcome. Yes, good old fashioned hand pulling or using something to block out light from them like a silage tarp.
Good to know , can someone tell me if organic rice vinegar Osage to use when mixed with eggshells for a week ? Another video
I have never use a combination like that before.
😢 I have been growing Sunflowers and a Datura. I have been having a VERY hard time with leaf miners. Someone suggested I use vinegar and water in a spray bottle, so I did. Well, I think I definitely did it wrong. Now all of my leaves are burned and I cried a little bit about it this morning..... do you, more seasoned gardeners, think my babies will die? 🥺 I rinsed them with water about an hour later when I noticed I did something wrong. But, I worry it was too late..... any advice would be appreciated
The only thing I could suggest is continue to hose it off with water. Your vinegar solution was just too strong.
How do I get the soil Ph to drop from 8.5 to near neutral Ph?
You need some sulfur.
First Distilling requires converting corn sugars(in this case) to alcohol, yeast farts. Then the low percentage alcohol is turned into vinegar and then to vapor through the distilling process. This leaves behind impurities, yeast, and most of the volume of liquid. That's a cleansing process. Bourbon, scotch, other wishkey, and spirits are made the same way. Except it's not allowed to turn into vinegar before distilling. The yeast ate the sugars and the yeast are left behind. Is there such a thing as GMO yeast farts. When you fart are you spreading your genetics, or is it gas that goes into the air. Please fart so we can take a DNA sample from the air.
HELP! New gardener, I put half vinegar and half water and sprayed my garden to use as a pesticide. Then realized I made a mistake and tried spraying w water to wet leaves so they wudnt wilt. My potted seedlings died, or mostly died, the leaves did anyway. And my garden plants have a bit if yellowing but mostly look fine. My question is will the rest of my seeds come up or should I just replant asap sense the seedlings were not even broke through the soil yet so maybe they're just dead under the soil.
If I should wait and see then how long do I wait to see if they sproout still. They're all veggies and it's been 2 and half weeks sense I planted and only 2 had broke through so far.
I would wait a bit longer to see what happens.
Citrus plant love acidic soil
I didnt know it would kill aphids and such. I always have bug problems.
I have a lot of bug pressure too.
Neem oil is not working on the aphids. Glad I now have another option
Do you ever use kaolin clay?
I have never heard of that.
I sprayed my plants and it killed them 😢
You must have mixed it too strong. I spray mine with 2oz or less of vinegar per gallon.
@@CountryLivingExperience i didn't know i had to mix it
Does it work to kill grasshoppers?
I have never used it for anything like that.
'ounces per gallon' - what is that in sensible units??
The sensible thing to do would be to use a conversion calculator to find your answer instead of wasting your time making a passive aggressive comment about a video from a country that uses imperial measurements.
Seriously what do you think a DISTILLED gmo product is going to do to your garden that an 'organic' product won't do? I am completely against anything gmo but even I don't think this will make a difference except in my wallet.
Research it. Then make your decision and take the risk.
No issues. Yeast farts aren't GMO
This was exactly my thought. Oh no, the gmo corn is going to be crushed and turned into sugar which gets fed to yeast which turns it into vinegar, and then it is boiled into almost pure CH3COOH and water. But somehow that's gonna be GMO CH3COOH.
