You need to unlock this chocobo mini game or else you can't complete the map and miss out on lots of stuff. That part was confusing at best. The dev deserve a slap in the face for this one.

The main story of Rebirth would have been finished within 30 - 40 hours if not for the insane padding of mini games, many if which are MANDATORY in order to progress through the story, it's f-ing mental!!

I have hated every single minigame in this game, every single one, that is quite the accomplishment.
The Chocobo racing one wasn't bad. felt like mario kart, but yeah most of them sucked.

Motorcycle one is fun hated the moogle ones and the remote would not work right for the punching one or that would have been fun
The ONLY one I enjoyed in this entire game was the motorcycle race in Golden Saucer because at the end of the track Cloud does the 'Akira' slide😆 other than that these mini games are as agonizing as FF 16😫😡

I understand the Game has to get harder the further you go... HOWEVER, the Shit that should be SIMPLE they should keep Simple. This Game is Phenomenal aside from navigating those mountainous regions and shit like THIS 🤦🏽♂️

Same, I gave up on the protorelics in Junon and Cosmo Canyon. I do the towers but stopped the combat assignments, Chocobo racing, along with the annoying Moogle Wrangling. It’s infuriating that the developers locked skillbooks behind a ridiculous mini game. I just reached Nibelheim and just going to focus on the story It’s a great game that’s weighed down by pointless filler.

@@Limebradleyyou can’t do half of the region with the chocobo and the sprint speed is too slow to conveniently traverse the map.
I hope that once this game comes to pc there will be mods or trainers that let you skip these annoying minigames

This one was very annoying. The mini games pretty much brought FF7 rebirth down from a 9 to a 7.5 for me. Terrible.
Absolutely…especially because in this one you can auto-fail if the chocobo just runs away. 😒
Honestly the worst part isn’t luring the chocobo for me, since all it takes is patience and learning the timing of the cacti. But man, trying to wrangle it once it’s OUT of the maze without altering the nearby chocobo that just stand there was hella annoying. Thank every lordy for checkpoints, since I had to repeat the last part THREE times solely do to that.
I see Square hasn't learned from Insomniac.
Got to the end (only had to throw about two more pieces of bait) and the chocobos escaped, with no explanation as to why, so now I have to start over. I am going to cry.

The sad thing is that without the mini games padding it, this is a great game, and the story elements are handled really well. But the sheer amount/frequency/difficulty/repetition of the mini games have ruined this game for me. The original is one of my fave games of all time; I’ve played remake four times; I already know I’m never picking rebirth up again.
Games Main story is so awesome but locking everything behind some BS mini game ruins this game............They should've named it FFVII Mini-Game......Oh and TY TY....

This game actually got me back into gaming. Played the original as a kid, bought a ps5 just to play as an adult. Some of the mini games are annoying I guess but it’s a true test to diversify you skill. I’m 100 hours into it at this point of the map and I’m honestly having a blast. The fact that so many people are complaining like this is embarrassing actually and sad.
The only mini games I really don’t like are the moogle ones and gears and gambits (I have no idea what I’m doing on that one) but other that that they really put your skills to the test. Gonna go into Elden ring next with my skills up

I love this game but some of these mini games are so incredibly infuriating and ruin the flow and fun.
No game is perfect though I guess. I love how much more content there is in Rebirth but I think the original remake might just be better minus the shite mini games.
i legit cannot see why people complain abt minigames for their reason, yes its forcefully padded, yes we dont need it, but none of ff7 rebirths minigames are hard by any chance, unless you include some of the hard mode minigames
All i see are people complaining about the mini games and what not. Enjoy the challenge and new things to do. What im tired of is doing the same shit over and over. And i was terrified of spending $70 on a game that i would beat in a few days. Although these mini games are a pain in my ass(challenging) i can say they slow me down give me something different to do and makes the game that much better when i complete them and get the feeling of glad thats over. Will there ever come a time where people don't complain? Like really dont?? Based on my UA-cam experience and games,Probably not 😅
Complaints are well deserved here. There's nothing wrong with mini games but most of them are way too tedious/difficult. On top of that some have harder difficulties. Like seriously, why? The game look beautiful and the combat system is fantastic. The games and map traversal missed the mark in a big way.

@@bhoqeem1975 I literally didn't unlock the Nibelheim chocobos before completing the main story, I just found out you can get a chocobo in Nibel like, yesterday, and I already finished the game.
@@kostasspirou1010 I said complete a region, not the story. Chocobo is a must medium of transportation to get to areas you couldn't otherwise get to without.
@@bhoqeem1975 hence why I said that its optional, you dont need to own a chocobo in order to finish the game, u only need them for side content, the only time you truly NEED a chocobo is in like the first 2-3 regions
lol you can never make fans happy a fucking 3 min chocobo side quest and everyone flips there shit when majority of the side quest are not mandatory to progress the game. I actually enjoy because I like a challenge. And enjoy the process of it.

@@dangelojohnson1744 first of I'm not a casual gamer I've literally played very final fantasy game apart from 13 and 90% of the minigames aren't enjoyable in the slightest and technically there not mandatory but they might aswell be because the game becomes so much less enjoyable if you don't do them

They really ruined this game with all these mini games, silly side quests, protorelics etc. they just packed out the game for absolutely no reason. I prefer remake over this one. Once I complete it I won’t be in a hurry to go for seconds
I recommend doing a second playthrough with chapter select. You can skip 95% of the annoying minigames that way and it feels so much better.

What a cancerous, moronic decision for gamers to be REQUIRED to do these garbage ass mini games in order to actually be able to fast travel anywhere or explore any important parts of any of the maps.
Out of the 40 or so mini games in this god forsaken game, only 3 or 4 are even remotely enjoyable. They are all just a fucking chore, nobody likes them. What a big fat L for Square Enix. I wanted to like this game, but the mini game infestation just ruins it for me.

Am I the only one who just couldn't get into Queen's Blood? Card trading games are just not my thing. I didn't like Gwent in The Witcher either. There is that part where you can compete in the Queen's Blood tournament on the ship. I just skipped that whole part. If they made playing Queen's blood mandatory to progress in the game, I don't know if I would have kept playing lol.
