Let me explain something though, Daigo has been playing street fighter since before most of you were even a cum stain on the mattress. He has the old school mentality and a great strategy. He has mastered every fighting game he applies himself to. It just so happens SFV has the easiest to execute combos in a SF game ever, all the pros say it. So noobs are showing up and actually standing toe to toe with this legend. Chances are if you watched this, you know Daigo is much older than most of his competitors and with age, comes slower reaction time, slower learning curves, and yet he still hangs with them. Why? Because of OG experience. I mean the guy is still top-level SF player even though there's a lot more people in the ring nowadays.

This is Zangief at the highest order. Absolutely delightful to see such an amazing Zangief master here. Who would have thought that players using this burly Zangief character can win so many big tournaments?
Respect to that zangeif player. I main zangeif and it's alot of work playing with him especially against characters like Ryu...fireball dash grabs random dps. same lame tactics. Easiest character to play with and people think they are so good with ryu.
You know what's the counter to that with Zangief, just keep playing their game. They eventually get mad that you either keep headbutting their fireballs or building meter while lariating through their fireballs and always either jump in or do the "argh fuck this, I'm dashing in" dash.
_Geif if a fearsome opponent to fight in general. It's almost impossible for them to make any drops. You have to catch them off guard. Overhead is best to sneak them with and unexpected grabs_
Gief has some tools to work with, but on average will lose more often than not to a player of equal skill using Ryu. Itazan is a fantastic player, as is, of course, Diago.
Daigo helped to popularize the concept of dash in throws. That's a huge gimmick of online Ryu players. It''s easy to avoid but few can easily know when to block the throw.
i wish Diago would go back to Ryu. a solid geif player can intimidate most players but i love watching Diago's aggressiveness kick in. he's got some serious balls but all of that is probably xp am i right?
I like Daigo, but please his SFV ryu is not that good. Itazan rocks so much ! Itabashi saikou ! I play low tier ZGF and I amazed of what I have seen ! It's so hard to be good with ZGF. I hope saison 2's frame data would be better for the red cyclone.
Now I see Daigo style, he is not a pro Ryu player, if you see in this match he has the opportunity to make greater combos but he don't do it like Tokido do with his Akuma, just saying.
I don't find daigo's way of using hadoken boring but I'm less enthusiast about how much he uses the throw on wake up against his opponent or those dashing throws, this looks rubbish.

You can watch the video for yourself where he basically never went in without throwing a fireball 1st. Once in awhile he will want to uppercut when Gief even attempts to jumps.
