Bill to prevent the sale of tobacco products to people born after 2008 passes the upper house!

Greens' Health spokesperson Robert Simms MLC speaks in support of the Tobacco and E-cigarette Products (Miscellaneous) Amendment Bill.
The Bill, if passed by the Lower House, would phase out the sale of all tobacco products, including e-cigarettes, by prohibiting their sale to anyone born after 1 January 2009.
The Greens have always supported a health approach to substance use. The Greens believe that harm minimisation is the most appropriate way to reduce the adverse health, social and economic consequences of alcohol and other drug use. The Greens want a reduction in high-risk uses of nicotine and tobacco, as we acknowledge that they are substances that cause serious harm.
