Interesting results comparing fuel mileage between the two Superduty tremor trucks. Also good to confirm no noticeable difference when comparing the platinum vs lariat in ride quality or the F-250 vs the F-350.

@ 6:28 Weight difference on the rear axles is because those are two different axles. A 3 inch versus a 4 inch tube on your axle.

The main reason for fuel economy difference is engine break in. Diesel are notorious for getting better mpg as they get more miles on them, nice trucks!!

Nicely done. Was hoping you’d show the rear leaf springs in both the 250 and 350. Payload stickers seam to be just for legal reasons. Each truck also runs the exact same tire. E - load, 4080# max load rating with max PSI of 80.

I spent 30 minutes under both trucks compairing...leaf packs, axles look identical from the F250 vs the F350 Tremor diesel. I am wondering if the only difference is the tire pressure that changes the load rating on rear axle.

It know with the pre 23’s, the only difference between the 250 and 350 tremors was the sticker on the door. With a huge camper, we needed the legal increase in GVWR. Given your feedback, seems like the 23s must have followed the same formula.

Tire pressure is the difference i believe suspension is the same. Some states have higher registration taxes insurance f350s. Its a loophole for people on the ranch to not have to pay more but still have the same capabilities. Atleast thats what a ford tech told me and looking under them there identical only tire psi and sticker difference.

250 vs 350 Tremor have same exact suspension, the only difference is the door sticker. That's what keeps you legal and in some states a 350 is considered Commercial and can run much higher on insurance. If you live in one of those states and don't need more than the 2900-3200lb payload the 250 affords you then the 350 isn't worth it. If you don't care about being "legal" or overweight in the event of an accident then the 250 will perform like the 350, it simply won't be doing it legally.

@@CTECH-REVIEW As a licensed Mechanical Engineer it is the gearing. The bed cover may be a very small part of it but generally they are designed for that and leaving the tailgate down does not help MPG. The best answer is, to me, gearing AND the power train is getting broken in. Things too tight the first 5k to 10k.

The rear axle isn’t derated on the 250. They have difference use cases. The rear axle, spring rate and shocks are also difference. So is the subframe. In addition to the GWVR, the tow rating is different. Plus the payload over 4000 lbs which on the 350 can tow a 5th wheel. You didn’t talk about the rear axle ratio either. The 250 will tow 20,000 lbs and the 350 27,000 lbs. huge differences. Besides, your talking tremors. But on the standard super duty trucks, there are more differences

What's your opinion on towing 11,000 pound skid steer with 5,000 pound trailer behind Tremor F350 7.3 Godzilla with the 4.30 gears? Tires are noisy I hear, which is tough for making business calls all day. I might just go get a regular F350 XL STX , 7.3 Gasser with the 33 inch street tires and 3:73 gears. Street tire or less aggressive quieter All Terrain Tires in 35 inch for the Tremor seem to be hard to find.

@@jonathanbeam6898gasser vs. diesel for a skid-steer is a coin toss. Both would do it. If your towing it in the highway, downgrades or for lengthy distances, I’d do the 6.7 as that load is above 60%. Add passengers, tools or payload, that’s in 6.7 territory all day especially with the said conditions. Regarding the tire noise. Those tremor tires are notorious for noise. Get you some nitto grapplers, or TOYO COUNTRY AT3s and that will solve that right there. There are plenty more quiet options.

Well I had a 2020 F350 (non tremor) and was looking into this back then, but I dont understand why they derate the rear axle on the F250...they could have kept it the same as the F350 and still had the F250 have the lower payload rating. It makes me wonder if there is something different internally or is it possibly a spring rate change that we cant see...or is it as simply as Ford just dropped air pressure on rear tires thus the GAWR drops. I dont know.
