As a kid, I remember in the early 90s, my Dad used to keep the Mo Money soundtrack on REPEAT in the car so the song "Ice Cream Dream" by MC Lyte and "Best Things in Life are Free" by Janet Jackson and Luther Vandross was burned into my psyche and every time I hear those songs it takes me back to that specific period of time. Brandy's "I wanna be Down" remix was one of my favorite MC Lyte features in the 90s.
Shout out to Tank for standing on business about Tevin Campbell! He is amazing and and dont get the flowers he deserves! However I agree Michael is the best child artist
MC Lyte is the quintessential example of hip hop royalty! I am in awe right now & as you're reading this comment.. I am really watching my childhood unfold..! Another phenomenal experience with you 2 (J. & Tank) & Queen MC Lyte ❤❤❤
I literally grew up on her music!!! Legend and still looking FLY!!!!! This is the best!!!!! Way to bring the year to a great end Fellas!! Love y’all ❤🎉
Milk D finding the words to articulate what Lyte needed to add to the song is major. Sometimes you know the feeling or the sound but have to translate to another mind. “Top 5 Songs”
I like the way that she’s looking at J and tank and not just tank. Most of the people come on here. Look at just tank when they are elaborating.😂😂 even if J asked the question they would elaborate back to tank
L.Y.T.E. Enuf said! 1 of the greatest females to ever do it! S/N: Angie Stone was Angie B in the female rap group she was talking about. (The Sequence - Funk You Up). Anywho, somebody call TONY TERRY & get him on the show!!! He's definitely an icon that deserves his flowers.
Anytime she's my mom's (R.ise I.n P.ower) favorite MC that says something. My mom transitioned at 80. MC Lyte & Queen Latifah STAYED on rotation at our house. Thank you for giving our sistah her flowers 👑🌺❤️💯.
💙💛🐩 I was probably 13-years-old when Right On! magazine had an album submission tiltle contest for her. I submitted: "LOOK TOWARDS THE LYTE". I was soooooo mad I didn't win! Lol ~Queen~
L.Y.T.E! Period! This lady is as real & as talented as they come. She's reinvented herself all while staying true to herself and has earned her right to be called a legend. 1:34:05 Michael Jackson eats Tevin Campbell up vocally. Kevin can SANG, but Michael was eating everybody up vocally as a kid. Michael has so much range as a little kid, that he was rivaling refine sopranos. He deserves two spots. Even after all the transitions his voice went through with his grueling work schedule, he still managed to SANG with a unique vocal approach.
Y’all need to do more promotion for the channel-get a spot on a daytime show: Sherri, Jennifer or Tamron! Everybody needs to see the Dionne Warwick, MC Lyte, Warren Campbell Robert Glasper, Lalah Hathaway, Whispers, those classic artist shows are the best!
If possible , Angie Stone would be a great guest. She could talk about Sequence … and her pivot from rap to RandB… the first woman rap song I ever heard. I think 1979.

“Crediting laziness to a vibe.” Whoa Tankhead is a true poet while taking a well-deserved knife to our present weak musical culture. And I agree!! 👏🏾
He FELT that!
That took me aback, like... what a truth bomb that was.
@@MindTrickedX24 🎯💯

The faces made when they talked about MJ and Tevin as kid singers…..when JV said “Who?’ I lost it!
“Worthy of friendship“
I really love that. And that whole segment of what you said.
Damn Tank 😮!!! “Crediting laziness to a vibe” is a bar!!! Shat!!!
I like the way that she’s looking at J and tank and not just tank. Most of the people come on here. Look at just tank when they are elaborating.😂😂 even if J asked the question they would elaborate back to tank
