ngl i would love if you uploaded a FULL video like even with the boring parts (Red lights etc) as i think it'd be nice to have somthing to fall asleep to idk thats me
It does, but it gets god awful MPG considering how little power it makes. However a V6 will always be smoother than an I4; you can't overcome physics of balance & inertia.
faultless18 No the older IS250. The IS350 is also kind of thirsty but it does make good power so it makes up for it. Smooth running and reliable as well, so I much prefer the IS350 over the IS200t.
Maybe a good "in between compromise" would be double turbo-ed RC250. Alfa does this kind of thing with it's actual Giulia. Maybe Lexus could go a similar way. A small displacement V6 with plenty of power if needed.
+SagaAcademica The 3.5 2GR-FSE is a gem of a motor; spins up smoothly & bulletproof. I just wish it has just a wee bit more power (~330hp) and better MPGs though. +Lamarda You have no idea what you're talking about do you?
***** Well I do agree in the RC the V8 is better fit than the V6 (the RC is heavier at ~4000lbs). Still we're not discussing about the RC now are we? Since Lexus killed the IS-F after 2013 (perhaps they think the IS-F will eat into RC-F sales?) so for this particular application the 3.5 V6 is a better fit than the old 2.5 V6 or this 2.0T I4.
I had a 2017 IS 200t F-Sport for twenty one months & replaced it with a 2016 GS 350 F-Sport a couple years ago. The turbo 4 was decent for the most part, but the V6 just blows it away by a long shot both in power & sound & is much smoother as well. I had a 2015 Toyota Camry XSE V6 prior & really missed the V6 sound.
+RickyJnum1FAN if I'm not mistaken they are the same for the F-Sport models. They are linear and predictable. I've never really pushed them on a track but for DD they are good, not a lot of initial bite though.
+RickyJnum1FAN I've tested both as well. I ended up buying the is350 fsport. The price differences at the end is like 3K. Might as well opt for the better engine and have no regrets! Even if I don't really push the car every time, its good to have that power in reserve. Not to mention that V6 growl sounds soo much better than the 4banger turbo
The good thing about this lexus .. it's way more reliable than anything German makes... also if the turbo Doee go out it makes much better to upgrade 😊
This 2.0T is the base engine the IS should have had since 2013. The old 2.5 V6 is god awful in power & MPG yet because its the base motor nearly 8 of 10 Lexus IS are the 250 variety.
Glad to see Lexus finally using turbos!

Can you do the Mazda CX 5 please?!
Does anyone else think the small V6 sounds better than this ?
It does, but it gets god awful MPG considering how little power it makes. However a V6 will always be smoother than an I4; you can't overcome physics of balance & inertia.
+Trades46 are you talking about the IS350?
faultless18

200t is vastly superior to the 250 though

will there be a coupe version??? that be awesome!
Can you do a drive review for the lexus lx570?
I would still take the 2.5 L V-6 just because it is so reliable.
+Chris Capaccio This is Lexus you're talking about. You can be pretty sure they made a very conscious effort in making this new engine reliable.
Didn't let that turbo cool off!
Is the window down? Too much road noise, and only doing 45
test drive bmw m2 2016 ( when will bee the moment )
What camera are you using? Gopro?
I'd rather have a V6. Sounds muuuuch better

EXACTLY!!! V6 all the way!!!
Down pipe that turbo and it’s a beauty

Winding Road I recommend test driving the Nissan GT-R at night.
6:17 At first, I thought you crashed... lol... or did you?
+iFurkan I think it's an auto unlock thing for the doors.
+iFurkan I'm pretty sure that was the sound of the gear lever going into park.
Sounds like a corolla.
Didn't mean that one emoji 😂
How does it feel compared to the IS350 F Sport?
Ive driven them both back to back and while the 2.0t is good the 350 is so much smoother and torquey and sounds better
aconfusedazn as i expected...what about the brakes?
+RickyJnum1FAN if I'm not mistaken they are the same for the F-Sport models. They are linear and predictable. I've never really pushed them on a track but for DD they are good, not a lot of initial bite though.
aconfusedazn Ok cool thanks for the info!

What city is it?
great looking car on the outside, however needs a more modern German looking interior.
It's not German
Keyshawn Russell i am aware of that, that is the problem the interior is over fussy and dated.
i honestly think this is the best looking interior.
Found this car for 22k with 29,xxx on it color Pepsi blue. Would it be a good car to get, Gas consumption etc. I'm coming from a 2006 rsx.
Edwin Pastuizaca Did you get it? Coming from a 2003 rsx 5speed.

request a 2010 hyundai sonata
This is a DCT right?
+Stunt Kabouter ; No it's a conventional 8-speed auto. Its pretty decent though.
No
Gosh that turbo sounds horrible. If you get an IS the 350 is the way to go
I want your job please 😂😘
This 2.0T is the base engine the IS should have had since 2013. The old 2.5 V6 is god awful in power & MPG yet because its the base motor nearly 8 of 10 Lexus IS are the 250 variety.
soooooooooo, this or 350?
James Ward 350!!! You can’t compare a 4 cylinder engine to a V6 ijs OR if you want to save money get a 300 AWD which is also a V6
Test drive a mazda rx7 3rd gen
