I played Storm 3 and Revolution, but didn’t get to play Storm 4 until 2021 because I was still on Xbox 360 when it released. By the time I got a next-gen console, I’d forgotten about the series until quarantine, when I started watching Naruto again. I got Storm 4 on Steam, and while it was fun, the biggest issue was the lack of new content. The game was still selling, especially with frequent $5 sales, but knowing there were no updates or future content made it feel like a dead end. Casual players would often ask, “Where are Code, Kawaki, Jigen, or Baryon Mode?” and I had to tell them we likely wouldn’t get those. The game was good, but it felt stagnant. That’s why I enjoy Connections. Even though it’s a bit half-baked, I can experience a new Storm game, updates, DLC, and a fresh meta. It’s not always perfect, but the overall experience is enjoyable.
Well the game was released in 2016, there was no fortnite then which made popular the idea of a live service game, so this was always supposed to just have the DLC expansion for Road to Boruto and some season pass aditions. The only suprising thing was the 2020 addition for Momoshiki and Kinshiki which came out late because they were already enemy characters in the 2017 Boruto story mode. And with the next generation consoles right around the corner, it made more sense to make a whole new game instead of forcing DLC to a 2016 game (like with Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2)
I wish it took more time to add in the 3D cutscenes. The anime stills broke immersion for me more than added. I also missed the roaming of the different areas before. All in all 2 is still my favorite.
I finished storm 4 in early 2024 after finishing watching shippuden I've watched part 1 naruto as a kid and played ultimate ninja 5 on ps2 storm 3 full burst in ps3 Right now I'm thinking of watching boruto and getting connections for Xbox
💀 bro bro in the trenches saying that. Storm 4 was meant to be a cinematic game. Bet you cant name 3 things it does better than connections without mentioning its cinematics. Connections just like storm 4 was made for one thing in mind, gameplay. Its gameplay is ultimately superior. Storm 4 specializes in one thing and so does connections. It's just so happens connections specializes in what matter more for a 2024 audience. Storm 4 did what it needed to do to win for its 2016 audience. We are not the same anymore. Evolve 🗿

Its all bandai's fault they just want money and sadly cc2 was under heavy pressure to finish the game im sure that storm 4 and connections was something that cc2 wanted to do in that way
Storm 2 and 3 are way better with their story modes and how they were done. Those games felt like real expansive adventures with amazing boss and varied boss battles, Storm 4 felt like a pretty slideshow with some pretty boss battles and a really well done final fight

budget for this Storm 4 is 9.4 million USD compare that to freaking sony triple A games today like Spider-Man 2 which caused 315M like wtf.
