Use clear PVC pipe primer and cement. It will chemically bond the two pieces together and they will not come apart.

I ordered some 3m polymer glue for my new transmission mount. Sticks to rubber type material good. Maybe that will be best. It's for windshields. Also I was told when using glue scrub any oily surfaces if it had any conditioners on it the glue can't adhere. Great vid.
