As a Honda technician myself, and other than the seat belt recall and the software upgrade issues with the upgaded Hybrid touchscreens, I also came across a couple 2023 Accord EX 1.5T models with parasitic draw issues that were related to the telematic control unit behind the touchscreen because the faulty telematic was staying on even though the car was competely shut off. Those telematic control units were replaced and reprogrammed under warranty along with replacing the batteries due to sitting too long(the telematic units were on back order for 2-3 months), and that pretty much solved the parasitic draw issue. It was typical 1st year electrical gremlins. Other than that, the new Accord is growing on me styling wise, but the customers seem to prefer the Hybrid models over the regular ones, thus the Hybrids sell more quickly.

Thanks for sharing. We haven’t seen ANY draw issues but this is why it’s great to get other techs perspectives. Really appreciate that’s. Now that you spoke on it I’ll probably get one today 😅. Your right we are seeing a huge surge in hybrids as well here both accord and cr-v.

Informative video. Still own an 06 Accord 2.4L 5 speed AT. Replaced the whole suspension once and done all the maintenance at a recommended interval to include valve adjustment. Drives like a brand new at 215K miles. It is truly built like a tank.

Really love the wealth of info you post 👍🏻. I’m at 12k on my 2023 Accord EX L and coming up to my third oil change. I’ve dodged all but the Seatbelt recall/inspection, had 1 time where infotainment screen went black and that was solved with a reboot. Styling yes is low key and I like it, it’s a fantastic daily driver, smooth and relatively quick just in Normal drive mode. Lifetime MPG for my hybrid is 50 miles to the gallon Conclusion if your NOT an suv lover I highly recommend the Accord as a roomy it doesn’t look like a Prius hybrid!

Thanks for the kind words and I agree. It’s a great drive tbh and if you don’t need suv and/or awd it’s probably one of the best options out there. I’m not fond of the powertrain choices but there’s always Honda care 😅

My 23 Sport Hybrid runs like a dream. I use it full time for Uber, avg 1200 miles a week. Runs like a dream. Bought a maintenance package when I bought the car and have not needed to pay for anything else since. Ever since Fast and Furious came out people think turbos are so cool. They add pressure (hurting the motor over time) and are incredibly costly to replace. Cracks me up that people want to “race” an Accord.

My 2024 Honda Accord 1.5T began leaking oil at just 6,000 miles, and I also noticed low coolant levels. I’ve been diligent about maintenance, performing the first oil change at 500 miles and then every 3,000 miles thereafter. Prior to these issues, I experienced a noise from the A/C system, followed by the steering volume switch ceasing to click. Fortunately, everything has been addressed under warranty, but I’m growing increasingly concerned about the decline in Honda’s quality. I always wait 5 minutes before turning off the engine after highway driving, and I exclusively use 93 octane fuel. Despite these precautions, the issues persist-it’s disappointing how much Honda’s quality seems to have deteriorated.

Thanks for the video. I've had my 2024 Honda Accord Hybrid EXL for about a month now. Everything is great, except the fuel economy, which has been around 42 mpg. I'm hoping it will improve over time. However, I've noticed a constant wind noise at speeds above 60 mph, which gets louder as I go faster and becomes unbearable at speeds above 75 mph. Coming from a 10-year-old Hyundai which is noticeably quieter, I expected better noise insulation in a new Honda accord.

I have a 2024 accord EX and a 2024 HRV Sport and I’ve had a couple quirks. My HRV went into the shop 4 times to have the drivers window repaired. Window refused to roll up half the time and kept bouncing down. First they said it was the seals, then said it was out of adjustment, eventually they just replaced the regulator, seals, and the window motor and that solved the problem. Then we got a weird clunk in the rear when going over light bumps. Took it into service and found that the rear shock bolt had SNAPPED. Took a whole week to get the bolt in for our HRV but it was repaired and Honda gave us a rental. All has been good.
We have had 0 issues with our 2024 accord which we actually bought after our 2024 HRV. The only thing I’ve noticed is the steering wheel is off center. The dealership performed a free alignment for me but it didn’t not solve the issue so I took it back. They GASLIT me and said it’s straight when it’s not. I have another appointment this Saturday and they are redoing the alignment, straightening the wheels, and uninstalling and reinstalling the steering wheel. I looked online and there is a TSB for this issue after the service advisor told me there has been no similar complaints for my accord. We will see if these idiots know what they’re doing🤣
Other than that both cars have been AMAZING.
I’m at 5,000miles on my accord and 7,000 on my hrv

I was going to update on TechLine that I loosened the screw and applied lubricant and the noise issue was fixed (instead of previous posts removing the hvac box or replacing the hvac box) but they locked the forum?? I’d try loosening the screw that holds the recirculation gear on the fresh-air flap 1-2 full-turns if you ever get that concern 👍. My 2019 Honda Ridgeline has had its share of small recalls. Honda quality control is starting to slip. Its current recall for my truck is for a fuel pump. My CRV has 190k miles on it. The Ridgeline has 43K miles on it. I am thinking about selling it. The design team for Honda is really producing some boring looking cars to me. The last design I loved was the 2017 body type. The 2024 model looks very boring to me. And I truly do not like the front plastic looking grill. Toyota design team is doing a much better job than Honda. The body style for the Camary is truly sporty. Not sure If I will be buying another Honda. They are starting to dumb down their quality controls. Cheap parts mean a cheap car.

But this newer one only has 8,000 miles and I broke in the car for 1000 miles properly, so I don’t know why it would do it especially intermittently that’s why I haven’t taken it in yet cause the dealer may not notice it and I don’t want to waste my time going if they can’t reproduce the issue. The dealer flagged it as a serious safety issue, and keep the car for a week until they could figure it out. Apparently, a Honda Engineer from 150 miles away came out to look at it. They also fixed a squeak in the AC blower and another one the display unit. This model seems to sit very low causing us to scrape the aluminum splash guard on the regular. The car is a complete flaw! I dropped mine off today for the 10th time. It's been having all kinds of issues, from suspension all the way to emissions.

I have a 24 Honda accord EX. Heres my two concerns and I hope to have your opinions on them:
    1. Anywhere from 1-2 gear, there is a rumbling/ shaking/ rattling noise when accelerating on the drivers side engine bay. Had it checked out and showed the mechanic during a drive, but he says everything was fine
    2. When idle, driving, or completely off, my windshield cracks/ pops randomly. I have not checked this out with the dealer.
    Any ideas?

Is the rumbling when it goes from electric to gas engine turning on? If so, that is in fact normal. If not, have them test drive with you on another vehicle.
Never had any issues with windshields making noise. If they narrow if down to figure it out, please share what the issue was.

My twenty twenty three honda accord sport So far my right shock went out it was bent Don't know how that happened, but now my laptop is making noise.Every time I hit a dip you can hear like a clock and noise Second my emergency break got stuck There is no emergency release type of thing, so you can drive it to the shop. They had to scoot it Up on a flatbed tow truck which tuck Now, if I charge my battery it can be fully full. I can go from my house to Walmart. And it'll have 2 bars left for my powerflow. Which I don't understand how can it go dead that fast? Walmart is five minutes away seven minutes at the most I've noticed without the power flow being on The motor makes a lot of noise when you're going up.Hill like a struggling I don't wanna make this too long but I also notice where I pull my door close at the stitch and is coming apart. The car is a year old with 24000 miles on it.
The manufacturers rushed this car I still feel like the 2022 honda accord. Sport was the better honda I have my car for a year now and I'm very unhappy with it.I will be looking to trade it in for A lexus real soon

Happen 4 times more when bring it to dealer no codes. Loses all acceleration with no response from accelerator pedal. Continues to happen.

It's a little early to say the new or revised 1.5 is going to have HG issues. First, proper maintenance especially oil changes and tier 1 fuel are a must. Second, Honda of Japan made internal changes to the 23 Accord 1.5 and are silent about what they did. The Hybrid is outstanding but time will tell on reliability. Hopefully the battery pack will last 8-10 years. Replacement cost though should be minimal at that point with a refurbed unit.

where did you hear about the internal changes to the 1.5t? what changed exactly?

    • @BCautosolutions

The 1.5t had minimal changes and I have zero reason to believe the head gasket issues won’t continue. I’ll have my thoughts on a video next week.

@@letjs a review from savage geese. I would like some clarification from Honda on the changes that were made. I would also like Honda to respone to any design issues that would lead to failed head gaskets

Going from my 2015 accord to a 2023 accord as a rental not going to lie I hate it. The car just feels boring like I’m driving a Prius or a boat. And the sport mode does nothing either no option to switch it to manual mode is a real let down. My other issue is the design looks too boxy like it’s trying to look like a Tesla or the new Nissan Z

No wonder honda sales are falling with the slopy design and eliminating the coupe accord

    • @BCautosolutions
      @BCautosolutions  8 місяців тому

Sedan sales are down overall as SUVs are selling more and more. Coupes have been dead for a while and very minimal sales came from them. Simply put they aren’t practical and sales margin wasn’t there to justify keeping a coupe.
