honestly i have a theory in where all ackermanns are cursed to live a miserable life, they have to basically pay up for having so much power. spoilers for aot manga i mean, look at levi, he was blown up into bits, lost every. single. person. who was dear to him, not one was spared, petra, hanji, isabel, eren (kind of) his entire squad, his entire squad again! and ERWIN AAAAAAAAAA. look at mikasa, lost her parents, lost carla and grisha, AND EVEN LOST EREN GOD DAMN IT, and whats more is that she was the one who had to kill him. kenny also had a pretty shit life but nowhere near as sad as levi's.
Hange's feelings were showed clearly in the anime. You can experience her pain in the manga too, but the anime did better. The silence in the start, the water feeling from her chin, her shocked and broken face, you can clearly understand her feelings well for her closest person.

Imagine how hard and hopeless the situation was for her. Yet she swallowed all the fear, took the only guy she can call "home" and saved him. She risked everything at this point. I fucking love Hange
agreed. She is literally such a good character and I love how all of the main AOT characters aren’t just one personality trait. Hange may have once only been the titan fanatic but she became so much more, even if she was passionate in her work she was deeply loyal to her people and pushed on through her sorrows for the good of humanity just like Levi. It’s amazing how well attack on titan portrays perseverance.
