As for Progenitor and Las Plagas, I think that they have existed long before and had evolved. What's frightening is that both occured in nature and it took very little to weaponise them, kind of like small pox can be weaponised with little ease whether it came down to Americans giving blankets to the Natives laced with it or creating a devistating strain of it. It took leech DNA mixed with Progenitor to create the T-Virus and very little modification to fully utilize Las Plagas. Two things that exist in the world of resident evil; people steal valve handles for some reason, and every facility, building, and cruise ship has a self destruct sequence.
People talk about how DBZ characters just standing around just letting their enemies transform into more powerful forms (myself included) but they do it a lot in the RE series too. Especially in RE 5, I think it was Yatzhee who said years back the main characters should just shoot Excella instead of letting her run off all the time looking bemused lol
Really appreciate the effort you have put into this series, As a die hard fan of Resi there are some spin offs that I've yet to play in which you've opened my eye to. Love the long lengths as well, no one has gone in so much depth with any sort of resi recap compared to this.

Then they'd make some speech about becoming all powerful, but their stuck as this huge blob that consist of claws teeth and an arsehole. @- _CAIOWORLD_ - You joke, but as well as the action stuff, there were some genuine horror moments in RE4. That first regenerator still turns up in my nightmares sometimes.
@- _CAIOWORLD_ - to be fair its a bit more subjective than that what people find scary is personal id argue that they all have a mix of horror and action with the later games having more focus on action but it makes sense form a character perspective these are all people who have experienced it before and then gone on to make it the active job to stop it Chris ex US air-force turned S.T.A.R.S now B.S.A.A. is not exactly going into these situation unprepared while atmosphere is important thats not what makes something a horror its why re2 remake/7 work by going back to the start of a known character to bring back their fear/introduce a new character if the character is scared and unaware of a situation it works but for returning characters it dose not at least without messing with them e.g. if they are scared why are they doing this job over time the characters have become desensitized to the situation which leads to only 3 options going forward new one off protagonist every time e.g. RE7 have an existing character get thrust into a situation unprepared e.g. RE revelations 2 (Claire) or remake an old one e.g. RE1/RE2 but while ill admit there is more focus on action it was always there talking out the tyrant in RE1 with the 4 barreled rocket launcher from commando in a 3 camera cut is an action shot escaping on a speeding train as a count down self destruct or escaping by helicopter before a nuke goes off, action has always been part or resident evil normally saved for the climax but there from the begging none the less RE problem isn't that the horror is gone zombie are sub-genre of horror so if they have zombies genre classes it as a horror its problem isnt even the action as its been part of the games always but the kinda of action being the over the top Micheal bay like explosions that littered 6 or Chris punching a boulder in 5 almost like cartoons, these characters have become confident in what they are doing and from a story progression that fine it makes sense they are voluntarily putting themselves in to these situations they are fighters

I have a slow day at work so what do I do? Enjoy me some resident evil history, again! Weirdly Resident Evil was a bonding experience for my brothers and I. I’m not a player so I always watch and just got I got the story line. So when I miss them I look up video game play but I’m glad I found this! 😊
This is my 2nd time watching all of these videos so thank you. I'm not a survival horror game fan but I do like the RE story and this is much better than reading the wiki.
I remember when re5 was first announced to be in Africa, thinking, "ya know, hippos are essentially bulletproof (seriously, look it up) and actually murder several people a year already... mutated hippo, as stupid as it sounds, is probably more dangerous than a Hunter, bordering on Tyrant." And I looked forward to the mutant hippos, but, alas, no luck :(
finally got up to date with this series, and I'm absolutely amazed by the amount of work, quality and detail you put into these. All the clips, the sound, the video edition, the narration. This is perfect for those who want to know or recap about the whole RE lore. Thanks for making these videos, they're great!
Man I don't usually comment on videos but your series is just packed with details and not to mention the effort and time you've into these hours long videos. Thank you so much and I love these!
I like how Curtis’s transformation is less grotesque than William Birkin’s transformation, I think that depending on the conditions of the G-Virus host (William was fatally injured, where as Curtis was in perfectly good condition) there mutated forms will be different from others.
Its not so much genetics, as the conditions that demand the muatations. Berkins were sporadic and random because of the sheer amount of absolute carnage he endured, forcing the virus to regenrate fresh tissue, meanwhile Curtis was just fighting soldiers, so his mutations were more combat focused with a tough carapace and huge claws.
ive play ALOT of the resident evil games but you've showed me so many more and so many other characters ive never thought existed. thank you for all your hard work, i could tell these series probably took days if not months to make. i cant wait for part 5!
@@GamerThumbTV is it bad that i literally laid back and listen to 7-9 hours of your videos? lol. and thank you! i cannot wait, since resi 2 remake just came out, i must catch up!
I'd like to bring up something; A small organisation, mostly a few people with small arms and the occasional heavy weapon or a support vehicle, take down ''the largest and best bio weapons'' time and time again. Can we at some point state; The resident evil bioweapons are very innefective against trianed and armed people. Sure you can whipe out a city of unarmed civilians...but boii do these weapons not do well against any kind of armed forces.
It would be more shock and awe. Just like when tanks came into 0lay during war. Yes eventually people would just shrug it off but I'd be shitting myself when I first seen it
RE 6 sadly made a good point of making the bio-weapons effective. And the Tyrants are something that Capcom has been going out of their way to salvage the reputation of. Personally i dont understand why Capcom, nor the villians in RE view BoWs as effective weapons platforms. I mean custom craft a creature which can then be armored and given a HMG and enough sentience to know to point weapon at target and shoot as they close in to rip and tear with their claws. Personally for a narrative and development like that, I'd use a deluded form of Uroboros to create a "unstable" and more importantly mutable biomass to work into a basic frame to then seal and armor while using a NE parasite to try and grant the new creature sentience enough to fulfill its combat role. While narratively this might lead to a exposure to a deluded T-virus seaping from the subjects thanks to the parasite it would still be far more marketable than anything outside the super las-plagas for would be warlords.
Admittedly these guys are generally fighting one or maybe two of the bioweapons at a time. You put 10 or 20 into any battlezone on either side and whatever side you want to win will win as they generally need high explosives to kill. Hell, Birkin needed a gigantic explosion to die and god forbid there's more than one Nemesis on a battlefield as that required an experimental rail cannon to kill. As world-enders sure it's pretty unlikely. But if you poison two or three large cities with the T virus you are forcing a huge commitment of troops and causing millions of deaths. Perfect for distracting one side in a war and giving the other side ample opportunity to push forward and into a winning position. Not to mention the psychological warfare you'd be waging. Only the toughest of troops would hold their nerve at seeing a G virus Birkin transform into a giant toothy dig and leap into their mates eating and eviscerating them. All in all, I'd rather face a country or terror group using bombs than bioweapons.
I love how armies fire at these bows with machine guns and shit but chris, leon, jill, claire can shoot them with pistols or just shotguns and booom dead lol. Real mvps are umbrella and tricel for always having a self destruct mechanism lol
I'm gonna be a pedantic and question video game logic but why would anyone willingly inject themselves with something that would mutate them into a monstrosity? Outside of desperation like William Birkin did. I mean it can't be worth it. Also where does all that mass come from? At least Birkin's was a gradual growth that sort of made sense but Irvine went from 5'5 to sea monster in about 5 minutes. Okay done being a nitpicker. Great video Fabian. As always.
The T-Abyss mutations are quite possibly the most disturbing and deranged creation in all of RE, as the host is completely conscious in agonizing physical and psychological pain while their bodies are twisted into horrific abominations and forced to kill.
Though I've never played an RE game I'll say this much: I always found the lore of the game fascinating and really fun, this was a very entertaining video series. I thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you for the effort you put in entertaining me :)

Never realised how cheesy RE4 was when I was younger. I got that it was all exaggerated action and wild imagination etc. But some parts didn't even make sense. Ada jumping in to helicopter blades only to end up sitting inside unscathed was always mind boggling to be fair. Reasons I guess. I prefer the more "realistic" styles of Resident Evil nowadays, I think it adds to the horror element. RE4 will always hold a special place in my heart, one of those games I've completed a ridiculous amount of times. But I definitely appreciate the earlier games and remakes a lot more now.
That line. That fucking line. "Do you really believe the world is worth saving" that line is burned into my memory like the searing lava Wesker fell into. So many failed times when i was younger. I memorized that last fight's dialogue and i still have it memorized
Res Evil went from plausible to super ridiculous / extreme with a convoluted over-the-top story. But I still enjoyed seeing all 4 parts. Thanks for putting this all together.

In real life, we are still discovering rare microbes and other organisms that have existed for billions of years, we still have yet to find out what other ancient organisms have survived this long. If you read this entire essay, damn.. Thanks.

People talk about how DBZ characters just standing around just letting their enemies transform into more powerful forms (myself included) but they do it a lot in the RE series too. It's so nostalgic seeing Resident Evil 4 in this part of the retrospective. It's one of the first horror game I've ever completed as a kid.
That's awesome! Mine was the first Resident Evil and it's great that you think as fondly of Resident Evil 4 as I do the original.
@- _CAIOWORLD_ - considering what came after RE4, yeah, it had a good balance between horror and action
@- _CAIOWORLD_ -
You joke, but as well as the action stuff, there were some genuine horror moments in RE4.
Mine was re2 but it was watching someone first one i played by myself was re4 so when i got to step into the shoes of my favourite vg characters again i was so nostalgic

RIP Doug, he didn't get a chance to flirt with Jill
I like how Curtis’s transformation is less grotesque than William Birkin’s transformation, I think that depending on the conditions of the G-Virus host (William was fatally injured, where as Curtis was in perfectly good condition) there mutated forms will be different from others.
Its not so much genetics, as the conditions that demand the muatations. Berkins were sporadic and random because of the sheer amount of absolute carnage he endured, forcing the virus to regenrate fresh tissue, meanwhile Curtis was just fighting soldiers, so his mutations were more combat focused with a tough carapace and huge claws.
How everything is placed together makes so much sense and the timeline is perfect. Been waiting to watch this since yesterday

I'd like to bring up something;
A small organisation, mostly a few people with small arms and the occasional heavy weapon or a support vehicle, take down ''the largest and best bio weapons'' time and time again.
I’d say some BOWs like Lickers, J’avo and Tyrants are pretty menacing to see in a war zone
It´s just survival bias. Most of the stars team died on day one contacting some dogs, crows and plain zombies.
Ill never get over the fact that Chris moved that boulder by punching the shit out of it. 😂😂😂😂😂
