  • how i load 50 bmg to skip to loading 11:00 mins in. As stated in the video i don't try and get my 50 bmg to shoot super fast i shoot steel and paper only with this round accuracy is more important to me than speed. the serbu bfg-50 a 29" barrel which cuts my velocity down by quite a bit even when i reached pressure signs i could only get around 2700 fps there just isn't enough barrel to pull the velocity out of this cartridge in this rifle but its fun to shoot and is a blast in more ways than one.

Those PMC 660gr 50 bmg goes for a little over $34 a box today but, they add taxes and shipping which takes the round cost to about $5.40. I was checking into reloading but the initial cost to get set up to load just 50 rounds was around $1500. Granted the highest cost is the press and dies which is a one time purchase unless you break something. 50 bullets-- $115, 8lbs powder-- $340, primers-- $89 for 500 but I think they add a hazmat charge on to it. I've read that the 8lbs of powder only loads 200 rounds.
So if you wanted to load 1000 rds ----- Prices I checked last night 12/19/23
    1) $2,300 + tax + shipping --- bullets
    2) $1,700 + tax + shipping maybe hazmat --- Powder
    3) $178 + tax + shipping + hazmat --- Primers
    4) $783+tax + shipping -- rcbs ammomaster 50 bmg pack press
    5) $200 other miscellaneous stuff
Total $5,161 before taxes and shipping and hazmat. I know 1000 rounds is a lot to start but even at say 500 rounds to start, that's still a lot of start-up money to invest.

the speed of the round is less time for wind to push it off .... wind is the only thing you can not control.... speed is having more control over it. the longer its in the air, the longer the wind has to play with it.

Elevation is another element out of your control. Whenever you are shooting up or downhill. The amount of drop is less than it should be. If you are shooting 1,000 yards downhill at a 45° angle it will hit like it is only 700 yards away.

@@Michael-rg7mx "Elevation is another element out of your control" No.... its not an 'out of control'.... its predictable.... you can use math and Know... where its going to hit.
or at least supposed to hit.

Good video. I load 300 Wby that takes about a third the powder your BMG takes.

What would you suggest on a powder load for a 643 grain incendiary using US869

Its depends from volume of you brass.
Make mesures of you brasses by water.
In my case at 300 grn volume of water in brass i put 235grn of US 869 under 647 grn M33 ball
