Mad props to HP for providing a teardown video of the laptop. This goes a long way in supporting the right to repair movement. Although, I wish the RAM was socketed instead of soldered. Still far better than the fruity counterpart.

This is awesome, I didn't know HP did disassembly videos for their products. This definitely played a role in my decision to buy this laptop - things like knowing that the DC-in connector is not soldered to the board and won't get easily damaged are pretty important and seem to not be mentioned by most manufacturers. Thanks a lot, HP! :)
It's just a bit of a shame we can't get HP Battery Care (to limit the battery to 80%) on this laptop. That's a pretty important feature on any laptop, but I read that only HPs business laptops have it.

Thank you, HP. Didn't expect a teardown video to come out from first party. I already have this device, and I was curious about its contents inside, but I didn't want to bother opening it. This is very helpful.

A precaution to anyone planning to open up their laptop:
The two rubber strips on the bottom of the laptop will not stick as well after you remove them to open the laptop. Mine still stick but they are off-center and bumpy now.
It's slightly annoying and doesn't look great, but you might be able to make it look okay if your careful when removing and replacing the rubber.

This was my saving grace! I only needed to know how to remove the base because there were ants (the really tiny kind) that had a nest inside. Super gross but it allowed me to air spray them out. Florida sucks lol. Thanks HP!

Will the rubber feet on the base be weaker after removing them?
I think HP should consider function or form in this regard, and not cover up the screws with adhesive which will be weakened after removing it

This is the exact comment I was looking for. The WiFi card in this Aero 13 is notorious for being unstable so I bought an Intel AX210NGW from the Framework Laptop Marketplace (was actually considering Framework before settling on the Aero 13). I've yet to install it, but did you need to do anything special for the swap? I'm assuming it's probably best to remove the Realtek drivers before shutting down and physically replacing the card, right?

Hi there, thanks for contacting HP Global Social Media Support!
I understand that you need to know about replacing CMOS battery.
I will do my best to assist you.
Most of the newer HP notebooks such as yours do not have a CMOS battery.
The internal battery maintains the clock and BIOS settings.
Below is the link to the service manual for your model series, and as you can see...no RTC (CMOS) battery is listed and nor is there a procedure to remove and replace the RTC battery: bit.ly/3j6DXq8

I am currently using hp pavilion running i5 4500u 2014 model. After 3 to 4 years when I went to the store to get replaceable battery I was said that hp no longer makes it and I should get some Chinese battery.
Now with the internal battery we cannot even get third party battery so how long hp would support to provide internal battery?
This laptop cost more than 1000 usd in my country and I cannot afford to throw it after 3 to 4 years.

Just apply enough glue to cover the entire contact surface of the rubber and stick it on, press firmly on it for 30 seconds so the glue can set. Let it sit on a table and dry all the way for at least 4 hours, that way the laptop will apply pressure to the feet.

I am writing to bring to your attention a problem I have been experiencing with my laptop's speakers. Recently, the speakers have been producing a crackling sound that is interfering with my ability to use the laptop effectively.
I have tried adjusting the volume levels and testing different audio sources, but the problem persists. I suspect that there may be a hardware issue with the speaker itself.
As a loyal customer of your brand, I expect that the laptop I purchased would function properly for an extended period of time. However, this issue has been a major inconvenience and is negatively affecting my overall experience with the product.
I would appreciate it if you could arrange for a technician to diagnose and repair the problem as soon as possible. I have attached the necessary details of my laptop for your reference.
