    Explained it PERFECTLY. The concept is easy. Getting the players to execute their roles is where it can become confusing I bet

    When would you make the switch to nickel or dime ?
    Thanks for the video!

    Oh, so a nickel defender is that extra DB instead of a linebacker. So when there’s two nickels on the field, they don’t call it “double nickel,” lol

    Love the channel, I know you are a Mississippi State guy, however....... if you broke down all The Big Alabama games you would probably get more subscribers. Just a thought, I know I would like to see it. Roll Tide !!!

      Agreed. This channel has far too few Subscribers for the quality of content. UA-cam .. or I should say people are a fickle thing. You have to hit the popular topics to really get the audience. So focusing heavily on Alabama would definitely pull in a faster channel growth and more views (and $$) per video.
      Also I notice Wyatt is likely a busy man and youtube isn't his main thing .. so there are often periods of inactivity or infrequent uploads at times which can make it tough to really grow a subscriber base/channel etc.
      I would put money down that if Wyatt were to upload at LEAST a weekly (better yet two videos a week) schedule .. he would 100% grow a nice audience. Within a year-18 months of at least 1-2 uploads a week (and more when you can find the time) I can see him with at least a few hundred thousand subs and it only grows exponentially from there.
      All of that said, I'm not a subscriber of that many channels so to earn my subscription means something (I'm a bit picky) .. and he has done that in spades! Well done Wyatt, and I just wish more success your way.

      Who cares it's college. Once you graduate from college, it's time to move on from watching students play.

    What about when you have 11 db's on the field

    5 defensive backs...nickel

  • @holdencaulfied7492
    @holdencaulfied7492 22 дні тому

    So nickel defense = 5 defenders because a nickel is 5. Got it. But dime is 6 DB but a dime = 10. Did football people forget how to count? They do get hit in the head a lot.

    iam a nerd so bear with me using nickel makes sense but dime doesn't I know its the next denomination but its dumb.

    • @GuessTechSports

      Yeah -- Nickel and Dime aren't exactly intuitive. It goes further -- using the denominations (Nickel, Dime, Quarter, and Dollar (sometimes called money, esp. At Alabama)).
      Nickel = 5 Defensive Backs
      Dime = 6 Defensive Backs
      Quarter = 7 Defensive Backs
      and
      Dollar = 8 Defensive Backs
      It's sort of intuitive with Nickel.. 5 cents/pennies = 5 DB's. Then they just needed some sort of terminology to help players, coaches etc associate the terminology to the field. So each jump in currency unit = +1 DB. Nickel is start,.. next coin up is Dime, next coin up is a Quarter.. and I suppose you could say "Half Dollar" but Dollar is used most frequently for the 8 DB's.
