The 2020 Maxus G50 Elite is the mid tier trim for the MPV from the British brand LDV Maxus. It's 120,000 pesos cheaper than the top-spec 2021 Maxus G50 Premium variant, but it loses out on several niceties of the top spec trim. In this Filipino car review, we take the Maxus G50 Premium out for a weekend drive to see how it holds up as a family vehicle. It may feel like a van, look like a van, but it is still an MPV at the core. In my Maxus G50 test drive, I found it quite good. However, spending a weekend with this MPV meant that I saw some areas that needed improvement. It has more power than a Toyota Innova, and looks way better too. It is a better pick than the Mitsubishi Xpander Cross. However, it is not as pleasant to drive as the Ford Territory or the Geely Coolray, which admittedly are crossovers. If Maxus can just fix the two tuning issues I have with the 2021 Maxus G50, then it would be a formidable contender in the MPV segment.

Maxus owned by LDV. LDV is a British brand bought by a Russian group in 2009 then by a Chinese group in 2011, it is manufactured in China. Thre are lots of LDV trucks (Pick-up 4x2 and 4x4) and vans running around here in Australia. At 1st glance, they look solidly built. Good review as usual.
Sir what are your thoughts on dry DCT ? Is it a good transmission compared to AT which can be found on japanese cars of its class? I heard it has a bad reputation. Can you please enlighten me. Thanks

This car is unassuming. It is what it is. A good sized, good looking MPV. Compared to the Okavango which is trying to be an SUV but is just a stretched crossover; but is also too oversized if you just want a simple crossover platform.

traction control cuts all power? i think thats a deal breaker. for steep roads / parking how will you be able to drive?
Just turn off traction control and it'll be fine.
