Axl Rose Is full of bars period. Dude is a genius with the pen and pad. No don’t ever cut off solos. Glad y’all are listening. Rock is deep. Y’all were on a ride and that’s Effin great! Keep it up fellas
Many of the songs were written by Duff. All members of the band got writting credits so they weren't screwed over by management but Axl didn't write many songs from scratch. Thankfully he could sing them like he did write them.
@@sidrat2009 that’s not true at all. Wow. Axl wrote 80% of the songs. Duff had a couple and Slash did Coma. West Arkeen helped also. Idk what u are talking about.
His voice is sublime. Breakdown has such deep and melancholic lyrics. I am so happy that you have discovered this band and consider them the greatest ever.
It's easy to look past. This song, TWAT, the title track minus the ridiculous intro are listenable. A lot of it isn't. It's over produced and all over the place. Most of the leaked demos were far superior to the album versions.
Jojo Im 45 and Im extremely impressed with your intuition and interpretation of music a lot of us know the history of the bands for a 20 year old kid who previously stated he mainly listened to rap im amazed by your instincts for someone coming in completely blind to the music hes about to listen i subscribed today you do these great bands proud man keep doing what you do i really enjoy it
I generally dont compare the bands. I keep my 70s music, my 80s music, 90s grunge etc all compartmentalized. That being said if someone asked me to choose between Led Zep or GNR to listen to one of these bands the rest of my life, I would choose Guns N Roses. ❤️ So guess I’m on LFR JOJO music train lol. ❤️🔥
You have given your son the gift of recognizing great talent. Thank you for sharing this amazing music with Jojo because I think we all love watching him turn into a rocker.
I remember when this album dropped and people were hyped yet disappointed if I remember correctly cause Axl was the only recurring member from previous albums. But, personally, I love this album. "Street of Dreams" is dope, "Catcher in the Rye" and the titular track as well "Chinese Democracy". Keep up all the awesome work guys! Edit: Btw, Buckethead on lead guitar here! No Slash throughout any track off this album due to him not being in the band at this time though he has since rejoined since 2016 or something.
Remember the countdown timer they had on their website, and those last seconds ticking down and then turned to "OUT NOW". After 11 years it was a pretty cool thing to witness
LFR Expresses straight from the heart Open minded he's reminded What it takes to play the part LFR A lovely family y'all are By the grace of GOD May you never grow apart.
I still have the same energy as your boy has for live music. And im 47! 2 plus hours of headbanging when I saw Guns N' Roses last week at historic fenway park. But the downside, i was hurting for 2 days. Hahahaha. Guns N' F'N Roses!!
Not surprised at all that Jojo likes this, he’s got an artistic ear and a mind which appreciates the subtlety and nuance of actual musicians. This is one of the most underrated albums in history, “cancelled” from the box stores by Chinese pressure for the song, “Chinese Democracy.” Awesome reaction gentlemen, rock on 🤘
This is the first time I’ve seen you two react together and it cracked me up. I’m with LFR JoJo, Breakdown is one of the better songs from GNR and besides being a musical masterpiece, it’s packed with lyrical wisdom. Too many to name, bur my favorite line is “Just because you’re winning don’t mean you’re the lucky one.”
“Better” from the album Chinese Democracy was released in 2008: Axl Rose - lead vocals Buckethead - lead guitar, guitar solos (05:10 - 05:25, 06:46 - 06:56) Robin Finck - lead guitar, guitar solo (07:33 - 07:53) Bumblefoot - guitar Paul Tobias - guitar Richard Fortus - guitar Tommy Stinson - bass, background vocals Dizzy Reed - keyboards, background vocals Chris Pitman - keyboards, background vocals Brain - drums, drum arrangement Frank Ferrer - drums
West coast strutting one bad mother got a rattlesnake suitcase under my arms and I'm a mean machine drinking gasoline and honey you can make my motor run
Axl Rose and Dizzy Reed are pretty much the only original members on that album "Chinese Democracy," which came out in November 2008 after 14 years in production. Slash had already left in 1996, Matt Sorum in '97, and Duff McKagan in '98. Steven Adler was fired in 1990, and Izzy Stradlin quit in '91. Not to mention Gilby Clarke no longer became involved by '94. In 2016, Slash and Duff reunited with Axl and are still out on the road for their "Not In This Lifetime" Tour. I gotta admit, while Slash is certainly no Buckethead, he does put interesting spins as far as the guitar arrangements whenever they would play this song live nowadays :)
Use Your Illusion II though.... GREAT ALBUM, and the 2nd half of that double album release, the first was Use Your Illusion I. Released at the same time. I favor II over I but both were solid.
If you both listen to Breakdown again in Headphones 3 more times, you will be memorizing the words and beats, its weird and wonderful and great musical journey
Most of the guitar on Chinese democracy was written by Buckethead. Y'all should definitely do some reaction videos of him. Especially live stuff. He has over 300 albums not songs ALBUMS!! Spanning pretty much every genre. Most underrated guitarist of all time. Totally worth watching/listening to.
I've seen Buckethead live a couple times and he is absolutely mind blowing. I remember he was in GnR for a bit but didn't realize he wrote most of the guitar on Chinese Democracy.
'Breakdown' came from the 1991 "Use your illusion Pt. II' album... by that point, Matt Sorum was brought in after original drummer Steven Adler was fired...so the drums sounded different from the 1st album. Dizzy Reed and Axl Rose both added piano & keys in the studio. Slash on lead guitar, Duff McKagan on bass & Izzy Stradlin on rhythm guitar from the original GNR were still there until the band imploded by 1996...
Guys you have to check out Get in the ring by GN'R 🙌🏻 BTW I recommend turn on the captions or have the lyrics with you whenever you heard the band🤣 Great reactions tho 🔥
The band has been falling apart for a long time in this era, so it’s practically not even a GN’R album. Of the original members, only Axl Rose remained, who in a filthy way, by all sorts of legal means, made himself Guns N 'Roses himself. However, the fact is that ‘Better’ is the best on this record! Then ‘This I Love’ I think is brilliant. (I recommend for your attention) and the title track ‘Chinese Democracy’ is also good. However, Better’s solo is really so good that Slash never plays a song they didn’t write together, but that’s an exceptional one. Now that the guys are pushing the ‘Not In This Lifetime Tour’ is something brilliant when Slash presents this theme! Great reaction again guys, thx! 👌🏾✌🏻
Just have to say, these last few videos with your son are great. You both have me cracking up while listening to some great music, so good to watch you two making these memories, thanks for including us! And, Jojo is correct, interrupting a guitar solo is an unpardonable sin, especially when Slash is telling you something! BTW, it was not Slash on Better but it was him on Breakdown. Only two original GnR members on Chinese Democracy album were Axel and Dizzy. Keep up the great reactions!
These are ok, but far from the band's best. "Appetite for Destruction" is solid from start to finish. Off "Use Your Illusion", I like a lot of the deep cuts: "Double Talkin' Jive", "The Garden", "Don't Damn Me", "Dead Horse", "Estranged" and "Locomotive".
The album cover for illusions is taken from raphaels school of athens - one of his most i fluential works. The figures in the picture are philosophers from ancient greece. The figures have not been substantially identified. The sitting figure is known as “young student”. The standing figure is unknown.
Led Zeppelin listening requires an entire album, at least once- not just a couple songs. Any album will give you their personalities and level of talent. Everything keeps getting better after the first album…for awhile. They never wrote a bad song. ❤️🎼 Love GnR……great reaction! Led Zeppelin was before GnR……perhaps they were inspired…..😎

Missed the best bar in the song. You need to listen to gnr with lyrics. It goes." Now the the damage is done and we're back out on the run funny how everything was roses when we held on to the guns. Just because you're winnin don't mean you're the lucky one" that my friend is a bar. Axl is a lyrical genius!!
"Better" came from Axl Rose after Guns N' Roses split up in 1996... Axl recorded the GNR album 'Chinese democracy' w/ all studio musicians... it came out in 2008. There's debate on who all played on that record - I think it had Chris Pittman & Dizzy Reed on keys and samples, Frank Ferrer on drums, Tommy Stinson on bass, guitars by Robin Finck, Richard Fortus & others...
The most underrated GnR song! Love it! “Just because you’re winning don’t mean you’re the lucky one!”.
"I've come to know the cold, I think of it as home" GnR lyrics are so underrated.

Highly underrated album, don't care how long it took and without Slash, Duff, etc/
Agreed. People looked past this one
It's easy to look past. This song, TWAT, the title track minus the ridiculous intro are listenable. A lot of it isn't. It's over produced and all over the place. Most of the leaked demos were far superior to the album versions.
@@hartjh14 I enjoyed most of the album but I agree the opener is not good
I agree, but i refer to this as Axl Rose's solo album.
I'd say that is a 50/50 album. Half of the songs are really good, with great melodies and lyrics. And the other half sucks. 'This I Love' is amazing!
Jojo Im 45 and Im extremely impressed with your intuition and interpretation of music a lot of us know the history of the bands for a 20 year old kid who previously stated he mainly listened to rap im amazed by your instincts for someone coming in completely blind to the music hes about to listen i subscribed today you do these great bands proud man keep doing what you do i really enjoy it
Breakdown is the most underrated Guns and Roses song. And my favorite
I played Guns N' Roses non stop in high school when they first came on the scene. Loved them then and still love them...Guns N' Roses is the truth!
I like how Buckethead's parts are so insane that one thinks it's scratching and the other is just flabbergasted
Get in the Ring💪🏻🤘🏼👏🏻
The coolest damn thing about this is watching the two of you enjoying this together as father and son.
Axl's vocal range is insane and thats all his low overdubs
My favorite GnR song! I love the lyrics!
"There Was A Time" and "This I Love" are the best songs from this album, you should check them out!
Im late but for me IRS is a good song as well especially towards the end where Axl hit that high note
Better is a banger fr even tho it took 13 years 13 mill amd 13 band members to compete album
The demos are way better than the album versions. The album was done in 1999

This I Love is my favorite song on this album. It’s a ballad but Axls vocals are amazing on it

You two..... i am with it. much love!

Axl Rose is pure genius!!! In my books, his voice is The most legendary thing I’ve ever heard!! No other band ever has touched Axl rose
