Fun fact about Tom Felton, he recently stated that he havn't watched the movies since the premiere, and he's waiting, and plans to watch them with his future kids. I can already picture that scene. "Dad, why are you such a jerk?"
Fun fact about Tom Felton: earlier in filming he was known for sneaking food into the set by hiding it in his pockets. The wardrobe department had to sew his pockets shut on his robes to prevent him from sneaking snacks.
Not Bothered Harry was facing the devil, means he is in the right side, but Draco wasn’t. If I’m not mistaken, Draco’s wand core was unicorn hair, and the wand chooses the wizard remember? They’re known the most difficult to turn to the dark arts.

Yes, Helen McCrory is an amazing, highly decorated actress. She was in plays like The Seagull and Hamlet, and she played Polly Gray in Peaky Blinders. She passed away due to breast cancer. She was slated to play Bellatrix Lestrange at first, and I'm sure would have done excellent in that role, too.
@@rawdaaljawhary4174she was perfect for Narcissa. Don't disagree with your opinion on Bellatrix, but like Coltrane and Rickman for Hagrid and Snape, they found the perfect person for it imo.
I never knew until just now that she asked harry if draco was alive and then lied and covered for harry saying he was dead when he wasn't; she definitely did an incredible job! I'm actually happily surprised! Draco did take after his mother instead of his father
Draco was always just envious of Harry, not just for his fame, but because he had a lot of good friends, mainly Hermione and Ron. When he put out his hand for Harry to shake in their first year, it was the very first time Draco was rejected, because his mother spoiled him with everything he wanted when he was little. Draco felt entitled to Harry’s friendship, because they were both well known in the magical world, but he resorted to hating Harry when he didn’t get what he wanted. Draco complained a lot about the trio to his parents, mainly Harry and Hermione, just because he was envious of them. He called Hermione a mudblood, and he was angry that Harry got into the Gryffindor quidditch team, giving him more popularity. He made his father buy nimbus 2001’s for the Slytherin team, so he could remain at the same “level” as Harry. When Harry saved Draco from the feindfyre in the room of requirement, he realized for the first time that Harry didn’t hate him, despite Draco being mean to him and his friends. He would forever remain in Harry’s debt.
There was also another time, when draco saved harry in malfoy manor, he didn't tell them it was harry, although he knew it was. He didn't call the dark lord either.

The saddest line in the entire series in my opinion is when Draco says, "I have to kill you, or he's going to kill me." It makes me so sad every time i hear it.
voldemort wasn't gonna kill him though lol. he didn't care who killed dumbledoor he just wanted him dead. he would have punished snape if draco HAD to kill dumbledoor, but voldemort didn't care at all

Draco may not have done much in the actual battle to help the trio but the fact that he ended up changing his views and raising his son to respect muggles and muggleborns shows how much he changed. I dont like the cursed child nor do I consider it canon but one thing I really enjoyed about the play was Harry and Draco's sons friendship. Draco and Harry never became true friends but their sons did which again shows how differently Draco taught his son. He was also incredibly brave, willing to do anything to save his son which reflected upon how his parents did anything to save him in the battle of Hogwarts,
Nobody ever talks about how good Draco’s depiction in the Cursed Child is, a shame as it actually made me like him. As an adult I mean, still a twat as a kid.
@@ashtonwilliams1800YES AGREE! That’s what really made me like Draco too. I was kind of indifferent beforehand and confused why everyone was obsessed with him. Then I read the Cursed Child and even though I hated the play, Draco became one of my favorite characters because of his growth. But I feel like people just always completely ignore it because they didn’t like the Cursed Child and say Draco didn’t get a redemption arch. Like yeah, he did guys? Hello? And even if people don’t consider Cursed Child canon, JKR said all of that stuff about Draco going against his parents to marry Astoria and raising Scorpius to be loving and accepting of Muggles and Muggleborns well before the play came out.

Believe it or not he does get a bit more scree time in the film. Check all the parts where he replaces Dobby. He gives Harry the gillyweed, Shows Harry the room of requirement, and even plays waiter for Slughorn’s party. Dobby did all of that in the book. Except for maybe the part with the Slug Club. House elves served drinks, but I don’t remember Dobby being there specifically.
Essentially the only thing that kept them together is ultimately the only thing that saved them - their love for each other. I would say by the end of the films/books, Lucius and Narcissa probably started caring less and less for the Dark Lord, and essentially only did whatever they had to in order to save each other and Draco. Voldemort's biggest weakness was that he underestimated love, he kept forgetting that love is something people will put above all, even his own followers aka the Malfoys. Thats also the reason to why the Malfoy's have stayed such an influential and powerful family for centuries, it's because they value family and reputation very strongly. In correlation, this is exactly why the house of Black fell apart. House of Malfoy and House of Black are the opposite sides of the same coin (and Narcissa belongs to both haha) they both represent how influential, old-money families diminish or survive.
@@kamilyakadyr7063 well written!! The whole plot of the story is about love, voldy really underestimated the power of love Tom Riddle became Voldemort because he came to know that he was born without love Malfoys survived because of love for each other Blacks fell apart because of lack of love (Sirius, Andromeda, Bellatrix) And ofc, harry survived because of the love of his mother

You could see the pain and fear in his eyes when Draco looks at his father. I started feeling bad for Draco in the last 3 movies and books. He seemed so depressed and he seemed like he didn't want any of it.
He wasn't afraid of his Father because in philosopher stone when harry met draco in the madam Malkin's he said that he will bully his father to buy a broomstick for him. This looks like he was afraid of his father?
I just have to say. The scene where Harry hits Draco in the bathroom with that spell always makes me cry! Is it just me or should J.K. Rowling write a Draco Malfoy series from his point of view?
Yes , I was so happy about that He never been bad or evil ike most people saying and they are believe He is my favourite character actually cursed child proved that he had a very good heart He was born in the wrong family with wrong father unfortunately Although he didn't deserved to lost his wife so soon For one more time life wasn't played fair for him
I'm still mad she only gave me him little to no character development! He just stayed the bully the entire whole 7 years they were at Hogwarts. Yes, in the end, he did cover up for the trio a couple of times, which was great, but there are SO MANY OTHER GOOD THINGS that JK could've made him do... It would've been amazing, really.
I agree,(and I do not support her at all) but she also based him off of her ex and probs didn’t want to give him any development. Also ppl say that she shouldn’t of based the books off of anything or anyone that was in the real world, but like..... are you trying to control the Author of the books we love?
That's what I don't get. He's not that much of a big part in the movie but yet everyone seems to favourite him? He's only in for like 15 minutes but yet people think he's such a big part to the movie. He kind of is but not that much.

Draco was never a bad person. He became like his parents raised him. You see several times in the movies that he feels bad, is scared or other things that show that he regrets stupid things he has done. Especially in the later films, it is very clear. I feel sorry for Draco and have always liked Draco, when he was little he did not understand that what he did was wrong. In the end, I think Draco is a really brave character that many hate and love.
i feel like Draco is just misunderstood. his parents made him be the "bully" and the "bad boy". when Draco was told to kill Harry he just couldnt. you could even see when Draco was forced by his parents to go to Voldemort's side in the fight he was sad and disappointed in himself. you could see he was sad when he saw Harry 'dead'. His parents are probably the only reason he turned out the way he was in the start. thats why his probably my favorite character. because even tho he went through so much as a young child and teenager and he turned out alot better and im honestly kinda proud of him... damn. edit: I usually hate when people thank others for likes, but almost 600?? thank you
I agree with what you said, whole-heartidly. But their are some mistakes. (Sorry just let me Hermione for a second lol) First, his parents never made him be the bully. At least, not in the way you might be thinking. They basically brain-washed him his whole childhood, teaching him he is above everyone else and that pure-blood was first before anything else. That the Malfoys were better. So, once Harry came along, he had his reputation threatened. He was jealous and angry, so he decided that if maybe others saw what Draco saw, they wouldn't like "POTTAH" as much. Second, it wasn't his parents who made him attempt to kill Harry. (I actually suspect that Narcissa disagreed with a lot of things Lucius said and did, but loved Draco too much to take him away from his father, her believing he needed a father. Or leave him with Lucius, knowing how he would raise Draco). It was Voldemort's way of punishing Lucius. Since he couldn't directly, he put through Draco the pain, anger, fear, sadness, and stress.
Edit: just realized at the beginning of the second thing I talked about Harry but then went on to talk about the Dumbledore situation. Oops, lol. Sorry
I honestly love how the Malfoy's villain turn around happened. Yeah, it has no build up, but it's real and believable. Their love for their son trumps their fear of Voldemort. It's as simple as that. The love of a mother trumps everything. It comes before their loyalty or their blood purity. It comes before everything. The world can burn for all they care at that moment, but their child must live. I just love how the whole series is built around this theme of parental love being the strongest thing there is.
I actually think that there was build up to their side because Lucius only sided with Voldemort and became a death eater and follower because he also had the same beliefs about the whole idea of the blood purity and magic. He agreed with Voldemort about keeping the wizarding world of only pure bloods. That's why he wanted Malfoy to go to the other school and not Hogwarts since the other school only allowed pure bloods to be accepted. Lucius only followed orders because he hated mudbloods just as much as Voldemort did and wanted to see them gone. Lucius also thought him and his family were safe because they were pure bloods. Aside from immortality, Voldemort's other goal was to make the wizarding world only for the pure bloods like what Salazar Slytherin wanted. If Lucius was truly loyal to Voldemort, he wouldn't believe the theory that Harry might be a great dark wizard himself and wouldn't want Draco to be friends with Harry either. From that information, you can tell that Lucius will side with anyone he thinks is the stronger power. Plus, later on in the series, Lucius was at a point of no return where he had to follow all orders given to him or else him and his family will be killed. He stayed by Voldemort's side all this time out of fear and survival. But as time went by, the Malfoy's all realized that Voldemort couldn't care less about them and would kill them in an instance and you can tell they slowly started to regret choosing his side as time passed. That's why in the end it was so easy for them to switch sides and betray Voldemort. They played the game of survival well. They are cunning and were able to get themselves out of many life threatening situations. They were even able to avoid punishment in the end by switching sides. I can see how they lived such a privilaged life through their actions. They really know who to choose for their benefit. I liked Draco's arc the most too and it is good he realized it while he was still young because it also gave him the time to change and mature. His actions, reminds me of that show scared straight where young delinquent kids meets actual criminals in prison. The kids all act tough since they are young and fearless but then when reality hits them it's a different story and they get really scared. That's what happened to Draco. It's easy to talk big when you're young but when reality hits, it's completely different and he has a clear guilty conscious and he isn't a psycopath like Voldemort. It was just that he was surrounded by terrible people growing up. His mother's love for him really showed through his characters arc.
I’ve been bullied for most of my life, but oddly enough, I’ve never hated Draco. He’s actually one of my favorite characters. I think if it had been his choice, he wouldn’t have been a villain, but Lucious being his dad meant exactly that.
Well his father was sucking up to the minister while his mother was with him all the time, and she was pretty knid to everyone. So don't say he was taught it from his father.
@@clover2739 the problem is that Harry is the only one Lucius didn't want Draco to bully. He didn't really care about the rest at all. He thought they were just skum bags. So maybe Draco was confused. Maybe he just didn't want to... pick a flower from a bunch, put it in water and throw the rest of the bunch in the trash. He was probably like "Oh, I'd rather throw the whole bunch than keep just one flower" I don't know... I'm just saying. Deep down he was still a confused yet kind person. At least that's how I see things.
@@alinamagda2547 he didn’t want draco to make a bad name for himself, I do agree that Lucius is a bad person. I’m not denying that. But Draco’s bullying is also on himself. He was awful and he needs to take some of the blame as well. Otherwise why doesn’t everyone have the same energy for characters like Dudley either? I think because Tom Felton plays draco and he’s good looking I just think… people tend to make him seem even better for that reason. I do like draco don’t get me wrong, but I don’t think he genuinely was a nasty person I just don’t think he was a killer. Draco’s change of heart was also the fear that his family was in trouble as well as not being able to kill.
Well even though Lucius acted like that he still loved him, And it was the one who shall not be named fault so I think everyone including Draco would have had a better life without you know who.. Personally I think Lucius was good for Draco in a way like ya he's DEFINITELY taught him wrong in certain ways but I can't imagine anything better for Draco and I think Lucius really cares about him!

I felt bad for only two people who were death eaters...Draco and Narcissa. No one can deny that Narcissa really did show love for her son on multiple occasions. Unlike Luicious, Narcissa learned the lesson of love earlier. Draco was raised mostly by his father. Draco cared for people even if he didn't show it. In the room of requirement, Crabbe rebelled against Draco and that got him killed. Draco didn't want to kill Dumbledore but Voldemort threatened his life. Draco was scared. Yeah the movies couldn’t afford to put another character (Neville) on screen for so long seeing as it was the first one, they needed to introduce the trio fast. I’m personally a book over movie kind of person because of details like that
I don't _completely_ hate Malfoy, having read and watched the whole series. I feel that he was a victim of his family's involvement in the dark arts and with Voldemort. I actually dislike Lucius way more than Draco and Narcissa.
I hated Draco until the sixth book, but then when he met Dumbledore in the astronomy tower I realized how tragic his character had become over that one year
@@CC-pi4pc He did in the first book ("The Sorcerer's Stone"). He met Draco in Madame Malkin's Robe Shop. He met Hermione and Ron on the train (He met Ron in the last compartment first then Hermione came in with Neville looking for his toad, Trevor).

He technically didn't kill Dumbledore, a fellow Death Eater did. He couldn't do it because he has heart, I love my child. But yes, he did seem depressed and under pressure. My boy just needs a hug.
Draco bullied Harry (or tried to ) because he was jealous and obssessed with him . He actually wanted to be his friend but feared that Harry will turn him out which would have been an insult I donot like Draco Malfoy but I think people misunderstand him Eventhough he ruined a lot of lives, I donot think he did it on purpose I feel quite bad for him
For me, the most depressing line in the series is when Draco says "I have to kill you... or he's going to kill me" it shows how much he needed to do it, yet didn't want to.
I always find it difficult to consolidate Draco in the books and Draco in the movies. Draco in the movies is very clearly depicted as just a scared boy who felt he had no other choice. Draco in the books is less conflicted and merely accepts defeat in the end. A boy still but not one who had no choice... merely one who made the wrong one.
@SuperGymmie that is the "accepts defeat" part of my comment. So basically it's only at the end of the series where he appears to change his mind somewhat although still not entirely. The movies make him seem more morally grey and like a victim from early on. Movie Draco and book Draco are just really different in my opinion.
i think it's important to note that though he did have a choice, it was one heavily influenced by his surroundings and the ideologies he was groomed (for the lack of a better word) into valuing. people tend to get stuck on the argument of whether he was abused and unloved and scared which imo does not really matter, there was a role in a murderous cult tailored for him by the prominent figures in his life in whatever way it was done and he just walked right into it, unquestioning. Imo that does make him a victim, however unjustifiable some of his "own" choices were. In a sense, his character is an accurate portrayal of the average adolescent (if one was to be born into a cult), which is why I as an adolescent hold some sympathy for him and personally would love to see him break free of the cultish conditioning after the events of the books/movies
@@SuperGymmie multiple times?? Draco Malfoy had the best roasts in Harry Potter. Like my comment, if you agree. 1.‘Longbottom, if brains were gold you’d be poorer than Weasley, and that’s saying something.’ 2.‘You know how I think they choose people for the Gryffindor team? […] It’s people they feel sorry for. See, there’s Potter, who’s got no parents, then there’s the Weasleys, who’ve got no money - you should be on the team, Longbottom, you’ve got no brains.’ 3.'Weasley would like a signed photo, Potter, it'd be worth more than his whole family's house' There are much more roasts but these are the best ones.
I actually love how narcissa's asked 'dead' Harry if Draco was alright so Harry nodded so she kept his 'dead' cover for him otherwise if she told Voldemort Harry wasn't dead then they would hurt him more even after he reacted to narcissa's question about Draco.
From what I remember in the books he does respond vocally to her in the books, though I could be wrong. If I'm not wrong, then it was one of the better changes made for the movie.
Remind me of Lord of the Ring with Bilbo sparing Gollum life because he pity the creature which Gandalf remarks that fate of Middle earth may depend on Bilbo choosing mercy. Without, Fordo would be lost in the dead swam, never reach mordor and ultimately destroyed the ring. Shown one action can have long term effect, even if not present right away.
Draco didn't had real friends nor a good parenting hence leading him to become a bully . But I actually fall for him when I read that he raised his son beautifully and became a better person . Draco's life's a cross between James Potter and Regulus Black. His beliefs of pure blood supremacy owing to his parents and efforts to fit and belong in his family's good books - just like Regulus. He was also a pampered child and took to bullying those who he thought was beneath him- just like James did . He finally learnt his lesson the hard way when voldy's wrath fell on his family(Kreacher in reg' s story) and being a death eater didn't turn out all fun and games as he thought. (Although he didn't have it in him redeem his deeds and defy voldy for that might ve required him to lay his life down like Reg did)
Draco is my favourite character not just because I'm a slytherin but also because so many people misjudge him. He has been quite nasty but its because he has been brought up that way, just like every other generation of his family have. He became a death eater not because he wanted to worship the dark lord and be loyal to him, but because he HAD NO CHOICE! He didn't want to kill Albus nor did he want to follow his father's footsteps. Draco Malfoy is the boy who had no choice but people don't seem to understand that...
I’m a slytherin as well, and I don’t understand Draco haters. Draco couldn’t do anything about his parents raising and how they influenced him. Like you said, Draco would have never killed Dumbledore as he was lowering his wand. He also brought the Death Eaters through the Vanishing Cabinet because his family and him were under threat. No matter how terrible your family is, you can’t help but love them. Therefore, you cannot blame Draco for all the bad decisions he’s made because that’s the way he was raised. I’m glad someone else thinks like me and doesn’t hate Draco. Cheers.
He ALWAYS had a choice. He had a choice to not be a prick. A racist, conceited, arrogant, self cantered sack of shit for the SEVEN LONG YEARS he had known Harry but he did anyway. So no, he doesn’t get that free pass

@Bowen Yuan He was a spy. He had to act like that, they were death eaters kids who could report it to their parents and to Voldemort. You don't even need to read the books to know this, the movies of all things shows this.
@Bowen Yuan I said that this was addressed in the books and that even the shitty movies got it right. I do think he did hate Harry but most of the time he was cruel was for his sake and in order to look like the perfect spy. He did his job well to the end though he was a very bitter person. He didn't do it for fun. He is obsessive over Lilly but keep in mind he was abused and she was the first person to give him any love, he didn't even have any friends during his time at Hogwarts which is how he ended up joing Lucius and others, they were the only ones he could be with. He certainly would care if someone tried to harm the students. He saved and protected them several times. I admit he isnt the best person but he isnt what your trying to make him out to be either. Just because you hate him doesn't mean you should be blind to all the things that led to his actions, his past, and what he did in the end/his redemption.
@Bowen Yuan I'm not those people though. I do stand by the the fact that his treatment and favoritism to the slytherins was because of him being a double agent but I do think he despised Harry and his friends because of James. He was a very bitter person. In my opinion Neville's fear of him is because of the type of person he is. Hes shy, clumsy, and not the most confident so its easier for his worst fear to be Snape. I will forever stand by the fact that he didn't bully everyone just because he enjoyed it, the book is way to detailed for that, you have to look deeper than he just enjoyed it.

When even a video about Draco makes you so nostalgic...Am I the only who wishes I could forget about anything Harry Potter so I could read it again from the beginning?
Draco was so misunderstood. Nobody saw the pain he was put thru. His dad mentally abused him, and Draco always tried to meet his expectations, no matter the cost. He was forced to do things he didn’t want to, like hex the girl. He cried so much in bathroom out of guilt because of what he had done, and of course Harry picked a fight instead of trying to understand him. He had no real friends, and nobody who cared about him. “I have to kill you. Or he‘ll kill me!” He was forced to try and kill someone who remotely understood him by the end. He went to Voldemort’s side because the ONLY person who had ever really cared about Draco, called him, his mother. If ONE person said something, he would’ve stayed. But everybody saw him as the bad guy to fear.
Buddy Didn’t he not know the spell? So he used it without knowing what it would do? Without knowing it would kill him? He could have used a different spell in the books but also this is the movie not the books
draco was a racist, abused people with help of his family and was a horrible person in general. harry who was also mentally abused and physically abused did not carry on the cycle, im still trying to figure out how harry is a bad person. it seems the movies made draco far more humane than he actually was.

Ava Wille yup! I’m making a backstory book about him
Draco may not have done much in the actual battle to help the trio but the fact that he ended up changing his views and raising his son to respect muggles and muggleborns shows how much he changed.
But I feel like people just always completely ignore it because they didn’t like the Cursed Child and say Draco didn’t get a redemption arch. Like yeah, he did guys? Hello? And even if people don’t consider Cursed Child canon, JKR said all of that stuff about Draco going against his parents to marry Astoria and raising Scorpius to be loving and accepting of Muggles and Muggleborns well before the play came out.

the fact that their family’s love saved the entire wizard img world is insane
So true!!
The whole plot of the story is about love, voldy really underestimated the power of love

Oops, lol. Sorry
@Rai Kaashvi nah im good
@Rai Kaashvi wait did they not use correct spelling lol
@Rai Kaashvi oh
All the heroes and villains were influenced by their parents this series truly shows the amount of influence the parents have over a child
It’s really about love in general that trumps the evil.
👍🏾 Gotcha
But Lucius was against dracos bullying of Harry and told him not to
@@clover2739 the problem is that Harry is the only one Lucius didn't want Draco to bully. He didn't really care about the rest at all. He thought they were just skum bags. So maybe Draco was confused. Maybe he just didn't want to... pick a flower from a bunch, put it in water and throw the rest of the bunch in the trash. He was probably like "Oh, I'd rather throw the whole bunch than keep just one flower"
I don't know...
I think Draco would’ve had a Better life without Lucius

I felt bad for only two people who were death eaters...Draco and Narcissa. No one can deny that Narcissa really did show love for her son on multiple occasions. Unlike Luicious, Narcissa learned the lesson of love earlier.
Draco was raised mostly by his father. Draco cared for people even if he didn't show it. In the room of requirement, Crabbe rebelled against Draco and that got him killed.
He cries multiple times in the books and also doesn't Rat out Harry.

I actually love how narcissa's asked 'dead' Harry if Draco was alright so Harry nodded so she kept his 'dead' cover for him otherwise if she told Voldemort Harry wasn't dead then they would hurt him more even after he reacted to narcissa's question about Draco.
And he would have killed her
From what I remember in the books he does respond vocally to her in the books, though I could be wrong. If I'm not wrong, then it was one of the better changes made for the movie.

Ya I am ravenclaw and I think saying slytherin are all evil is stupid and mean
I am ravenclaw and i agree a bit
I’m a slytherin as well, and I don’t understand Draco haters. Draco couldn’t do anything about his parents raising and how they influenced him. Like you said, Draco would have never killed Dumbledore as he was lowering his wand. He also brought the Death Eaters through the Vanishing Cabinet because his family and him were under threat. No matter how terrible your family is, you can’t help but love them. Therefore, you cannot blame Draco for all the bad decisions he’s made because that’s the way he was raised.
I’m glad someone else thinks like me and doesn’t hate Draco. Cheers.

@Bowen Yuan uuhhh did you really watch harry potter? Bc if u did u would know how snape really is... And ho watch his life explanation so u can understand better:)))
I am going through some rough times at the moment, but with your videos, my mood is always lifted. Thank you for your hard work! Thank you for your hours upon hours of dedication to posting content on this amazing UA-cam platform!

@@Hello-mv9gw but yes; Draco was a bully I won’t lie, he also just wanted to be loved, yk haha
