Here is a Golden Era Steinway concert grand in concert condition. It has just been restrung with Mapes strings (the same strings Steinway uses), It also has a recently rebuilt Steinway action with Renner whippens (same as what Steinway uses on Hamburg Steinways). The soundboard has been refinished, there are also new damper felts and key bushings, as well as front rail bushings. The piano plays like a dream!
The furniture looks very presentable with the classic satin black finish. This piano is suitable for a concert venue or recording studio since the regulation and voicing are even throughout all registers. More importantly, the sound of this particular instrument has a long sustained tone in the treble, and a strong, rich bass. When choosing concert grand pianos (even brand new Steinway D’s), each one has its own unique character of sound. This is a special instrument from a period of manufacturing many people seek out for the high quality of manufacturing. The restoration has been done to the highest standards. So if you are after the ultimate piano, this is an opportunity to own the best for a fraction of the cost of what a new Steinway D costs.

GOOD HEAVENS!! It sounds like a brand new piano!! Excellent job and playing!
looks stunning and has a beautiful sound!
I did not realize I was going to the Academy of Music this afternoon!!
To hear you playing that magnificent piano brought tears to my
eyes. I only wish....Thank you!!
What a heavenly sound. I really enjoyed your playing especially of the schuman and Chopin. Thanks.
It’s a wonderful piano, and I can tell you why I know that: I bought one just like it a little over a month ago. Even though mine was built like 60 years later, it looks and sounds exactly like it. (And I still need to get my technician out here to fix a couple notes that don’t engage the pedal exactly like the rest.) I can’t believe the improvement in my technique and sound. I’m blown away by it. Yeah, it’s a little large, but I have a big room for it. Other folks have pool tables, video games, and wet-bars in their “special” room, but I have a 9’ concert grand, and it’s the best piano I’ve ever gotten to play. I’m on it 4 hours minimum every day.
Awesome!
Keep bringing them Steinways 👊 🔥
You're playing is so beautiful, Robert. And your passion and knowledge are also so inspiring and wonderful. Thank you and I hope to be in touch soon about a Model D. Benjamin
Stunning instrument!
Lovely piano. 9 feet is a bit too much for the home. But I would find a way. 😅
Too much sound for most rooms.
Deafening! This call for at least a double height room. @@raleedy
Merci Robert. You make us dream...
Fabulous sounding piano!
I own NY model B same year 1916 rebuild. This is much larger instrument but sound very alike to me.
Only 4 Steinway D's in this history of this channel. There was 1 2 years ago, a mahogany 5 years ago, & ebony 10 years ago.
Wow!! Sounds so soft yet full (difficult to describe) just a perfect piano. I always prefer the satin finish over the high gloss…except for guitars where the woods are more grainy😊
The Chopin sounded angelic 🎹
Sounds mellow. I'll be there in July and hope to try it...😮
It will be great to have you if we still have the piano available! We have several other great concert grands in the works as well.
@@LivingPianosVideos can't wait to see and will e in touch
Sounds better than new- that is for sure
You didn't say anything about the 'wrestplank'...since S&S won't make a new one available, is this the original with oversize pins, or a substitute block like say Bolduc, or is the piano new enough to have a perfectly fine block with 2/0 pins?
Before you start playing a piece, do you start with a preconceived sound, and then get surprised by the piano good or bad? Do you ignore or get used to it?
When sitting down to a piano for the first time, you must learn to instantly adjust to the sound and touch. It is one of the great challenges pianists face!
8:12 Tchaikovsky sounds somewhat weird... But Mozart, Schumann and Chopin were simply beautiful.
It sounds strange without the lush orchestra behind it!
@@LivingPianosVideos Thank you for replying. I still think something is off with the sound there, but I'm not qualified to quantify what exactly that is.
I think the bass strings are out of tune, they may still be stretching after the rebuild. The upper registers sound pretty nice!
I agree it sounds sort of muffled despite being loud. It lacks something in terms of richness in the bass IMO @maksimivanov5417
Looks a bit odd with those small casters.
That’s how the piano was made originally. If larger casters were put on, the piano would be too tall!
Too bad Steinway won’t sell you a decal for the soundboard. Oh well…
Buy a new one for the cost of a house, or this for the cost of a new Ford pickup... well this one will last a longer than a new Ford, haha.. America used to make great things ;)
Suona bene però è sempre lo stesso ci ha stufato questo monopolio
