Century Child
Century Child es un álbum del grupo de metal finlandés Nightwish. Es su cuarto álbum, publicado en el año 2002, es el primer álbum con el bajista Marco Hietala, anteriormente miembro del grupo Sinergy, quien también hace voces, reemplazando a Sami Vänskä. Century Child incluye canciones que tocan una gran variedad de temas y pensamientos en sus letras, desde la furia (en Slaying the dreamer) hasta el más completo romanticismo (en Forever yours).
El disco también tiene la particularidad de incluir una versión de "El Fantasma de la Ópera" (The Phantom of the Opera), originalmente escrita por Andrew Lloyd Webber para Sarah Brightman y Michael Crawford. Emppu is SO SO good. Technicality and shredding may be impressive, but consistency is SO important and I swear, I've watched dozens of these videos and he never misses a note.
I was there on this day and the only thing that upstaged Nightwish was the mud 😂😂😂 what a day it was. My very first time experiencing Floor in Nightwish 🤘🤘🤘
Was my first time seeing them live too after listening to them for so long. I forgot about the rain and the mud for a little while
Suzy is fascinated and so into Ever Dream, like she would love to go for a cover...
This is the song that first grabbed me, about a year ago. Hit me like a run away freight train. Because it's what's inside my head. Tuomas has been rummaging about inside my head. Scary.
I think Marko is playing his Vampire. Emppu of course, is piloting EV 1.
And Kai had control of how that drum kit was made. It was made for HIM.

This was a pearl !! I wonder if the blue-jacketed fan standing in that audience at the end was the same one seen in the recording of Wacken’s concert. I could even swear. Familiar-looking face.

y'all need to watch "Please Learn The Setlist in 48 Hours", the bts documentary about their 2012 - 13 Imaginaerum Tour, when Floor joined the band. lots of candid interviews with Tuomas, Marco, and Troy. they tend to be the most talkative members, with the best insights about the goings on. Tuomas is totally chill, just wants everyone to do their respective jobs, loves life and seeing the world. has said himself that however big NW becomes is not his primary focus.
Emmpu is the one member, if i had to choose just one, that i would want to hang out with. dude just loves what he does, and everybody he works with and plays for.
You need to see "Please learn the setlist in 48 hours" There you'll see all of their personalities.
Marko have two basses he uses (Three if you count "the beast", his 46lb double neck) It's a Warwick Vampire he use here (Square head stock) and a Warwick Vulture (Pointed head stock)

Nothing beats Wacken (Germany) or Buenos Eires when it comes to fans. There is hard partying at Nightwish concerts. Actually, Nightwish should only appear in the evening. They work even better there. The mood is also the best there.

I love Tuomas! He is an amazing metal composer, an amazing thinker, and amazing human being.
And to think: He was the one to put Carl Sagan's "Pale Blue Dot" to music, AND composed the ultimate musical expression of this planet's history.
And I'll say this about Floor: I love seeing her get back to wearing leather... *shiver*

Marco's bass guitar is a Warwick Vampyre. I have two of them, one that's black with red LED fret dots, the other is red, and they're both five string. To cut a long story short, I was influenced to buy them when I was looking to upgrade and saw Marco with one. I loved the tone of the first so much that I bought a second one.
I was at this show on my birthday 😁 I remember Marco pulling funny faces at people in the crowd which was cracking me up. Met the band a while before their set and Tuomas seemed to be quite amused by my birthday princess sash 😬

The sound here is not so good. Wacken is not only loved because of the legendary performance of the whole band, its also because of the sound mixing. Theyve had to do this, with more then 80000 ppl watching the show, and recording it on a new album showtime/ storytime

when i read live at download festival for a moment i thought it was the version with anette i clicked, because she performed in a beautiful way live with this song and sleepin sun too, floor's voice feels tired in this concert, the Wacken's version is epic :)
I was at this festival, unbelievable performance and great set up for iron maiden, I think this was about my 5th time seeing them, and they made a lot of new fans that night

Not gonna lie I went back to the campsite not long into Maiden’s set....
Nightwish playing second fiddle to any other band feels wrong - even when it's Iron Maiden.

Well if ever there was a time to play the second fiddle it would be to Iron Maiden imo.
I didn't realise download was elsewhere. Every time we have it in Australia it's hammering rain so it's drownload or downpour lol
I was there at download, stood there waiting for maiden to come on and this band came on first. Big fan ever since, oh and it was very wet and muddy.

That's why I love the Buenos Aires concert. Emppu is always fun to watch, but you can see he spent the day at the beach. He has beach hair, blushes on his cheeks, didn't shave, and for the first time I've seen an actual smile, instead of these goofy grimaces. He needs to do that more often.

Cool to see another performance.
The Waken one is really magical too. The sound is much more balanced so their voices are not drowned out in parts. Marco is exceptional at Waken and Vancouver too. :)

This song is a favorite of many (including me, myself and I). I haven't seen this video before. Floor is allways gorgeous with any outfit or without any 😜. Wacken version is still the best but this was very very good. Mr Kai Hahto on the drums 👍. Thank you!

I think the sound quality was not gave a good possibility to the band perform like usually. But they kick ass like always 🤘🏻🤘🏻

I liked it otherwise. just the drum sound was a bit weak. Wish they had miked stronger the bass sounds of the drums.
The sound mixing here was OK. I'd still prefer the Wacken way better than this one. The only part of the video that I liked is the interview of Floor and Tuomas.
