I was SUCH an impulse book buyer when I first started watching booktube too!! and I also bought passenger and illuminae when I didn't really know about my reading tastes lol. now I really only buy books after at least a MONTH of thinking of them... but I'll also go to the bookstore sometimes and purposefully pick up ONE book I've never heard of
This is such a throwback, I remember being new to booktube then and got most of them🙈 I definitely changed and don't do that anymore. I love "I'll Give you the Sun".
Yes I do read the books that I buy well most of them I only buy books that I either love or books that the library doesn't have so I order them on Amazon 🌟😊👍😀😇🥰💝💖
It's such a great book. I read it about 5 years ago and it has stayed with me. I've actually just brought a copy so I can re-read (which I rarely do) and see if it still holds up. Sure hope it does!
Is it bad that I find comfort in the fact that you think you're summarizing isn't the best? I SUCK at giving summaries. I will be raving about a book and then the second somebody asks me what my book is about I'm like....."There's this girl....and she goes on an adventure!" All these years of reading and I still suck at synopses. :)
Hahaha well this makes me feel better!😂 I’m glad that my lack of a summarizing ability can help everyone else feel good about their lack of a summarizing ability LOL
It's so funny to me that people day Throne Of Glass went downhill! Ik you were talking about that in your old video but shhh it's fine! I feel like the series goes 1000x better! Her writing, development, characters, etc. all improved soooo much!
I'll Give You the Sun was also on my TBR for years and years but when I finally read it, it became one of my favourite books ever so you should give it a shot! You won't be disappointed.
I have a 2 year system. Every year, I have a list of books I got 2 years ago, and it's the last year to read them. If I don't, I need to unhaul them. It's working well 👌😁 (not counting collectable classics or if I got 10 books series at once. They have extra time)

I try to read my TBR in order of when I bought the books, so that way I'm usually reading the oldest books on my TBR. I do mood read sometimes, but I generally try to read my TBR this way. And I've been on a book buying ban (mostly) since June
I grew up borrowing books from the library, so buying new books never really occurred to me, even with watching booktube I'm always a little bit surprised at the volume of book hauls since it feels unnecessary in my opinion to buy so many books that I have no idea if I'll really like or not
I’m adding all of these books to my reading list, thanks for sharing! 💫 Keep rising to be who you want to be! 💫 #keeprising #risingtobe #aswerise #riser
Okay for me the factor that booktubers buy book and don't read them for YEARS has simply been very surprising !!!! Cuz I do not have the luxury of a bookstore and a library and buying online becomes a nuisance especially with covid and when u don't have your own money 😭. I get to buy books 2/3 books in 3 to 4 months , SOOOO I get hyped up waiting over them AND then GOBBLE them up IMMEDIATELY !!!! Sooo your reactions were pretty much hilarious !!😂😂😆😆 Btw currently waiting for Empire Of Storms !!!!!!!
Honestly, I feel like if I didn’t live in the US where everything was so accessible and near me then I would be the same! It’s so easy to take it for granted. (And I hope you love empire of storms!! SUCH a good book!❤️)
@@adashofash thank you for making videos for so long! A lot of the books I read are because of your recommendations! I have the same taste in books as you do so I always love what you love 😂💙

I do read the books I buy. Some quicker than others but I have bought a lot recently. Just because I'll see them in a random store or for a really good price and what booklover can say no to that 🤷♀️📚
when I first discovered booktube I used to buy every single popular book (and then didn’t enjoy a lot of them) and I‘ve gotten a lot better at that. Still, sometimes when I‘m in a bookstore and I don‘t find anything I tend to just buy something I‘ve heard of just to buy something but I‘m working on that (because most of the time I end up not reading them and donating them after like 3 years)

I have shelf of unread books. HAHAHAHAHA. This year I mostly read via Audiobook since I'm busy with my work. I try not to read in audiobook format if I have physical book, hence my shelf is untouched.
Hahaha I feel like a lot of us can relate, but you’re still reading something! I wish I could listen to audiobooks more often, but I can’t focus unless I’m driving 😂
I love the Wizard of Oz but I’ve never read the Dorothy must die series. Anyway, I also have a few books that have been sitting on my shelves for a few years too 😅

I'm trying my best to not be an impulse buyer. Usully when I'm not completelly sure i'll like the book I try to find a pdf file of it or see if it's free on kindle unlimitted, then if I really like the book I buy it. I started doing this because I'm not working, so I don't have a lot of money to spend hahaha
That’s a great plan! I also sometimes see if it’s available on my Libby app to rent from my library sometimes before I decide to buy👍 it’s def helped me hahaha
Buying books and reading books are two different hobbies. I’m better at the buying than the reading, but I’m doing my best.
So well said haha
