These massed groups songs are almost a spiritual gathering to me. Listen to the voices... no instrumental backup but that is never missed. I close my eyes and am content just listening to them. It makes me wish I had a voice that could participate in the communion of music with them, so I have to settle for second best and listen.
Why is it that people of different races and backgrounds can get together in harmony on one little stage and portray pure love and togetherness, but we can't seem to get along on a big place called earth...??? I guess that’s the power of music.
I've read that the producers pushed groups to have one featured soloist even if that's not the way the group operated normally. But somehow On The Rocks got away with using all four of their great soloists.
This is the first I'm hearing this because I missed most of season 2. I only recalled 21 Guns. But this is INSANE! It's easily one of the best group performances of the entire series!
@@natashafigueroa9198 haha yes I miss this show. It was unique and brought out so much talent and presented a mainstream group to the world. It just doesn't make sense why they stopped it. It proved to be more successful than the voice even. Haha.
I just got took to church! Forget the show, make one hige group of them and give AGT a visit.
Awe hate to read that Jerry Lawson passed away last year. I will never forget when you shook everyone with that high note emulating true soul singing!
RIP🙏🏽
RIP
During the scream, check out the faces on everyone else. Alar, Kenton, and everyone else seems to love it as much as we do.
A lot of talent on that stage (especially Jerry Lawson)... but it's the KILLER arrangement that makes it work for me!
I was in the audience, and this still gets me every time. I miss this show.
omg lucky you!!
Cap
No cap.
How can this not have over a million likes?
Getting there ... worry not!
Jerry Lawson was like the key to every opening.. just something about his performance in each one just hit it home.
Team effort everything was super tight, but it was Lawson and Joanna Jones that really took it to the next level.
+glibsonoran And Therry.
Best opening performance out of all three seasons by FAAAAAAAAAR!
The talent on Season 2 was unmatched! I am so honored to be close friends with soooo many of these people!
That was epic! At 2:44 when that guy went crazy on the drums!
jerry lawson rocked it with the scream!
Joanna gives me goose bumps with every note. she's really great and i can't want to see where her career goes.
I'm performing with Street Corner Symphony tonight! I'm so lucky!

this was beyond amazing!
2:22. best part of whole song. without a doubt. the buildup to jerry lawson screaming is the best

LAWD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone else get taken back to church?

And no. This type of singing doesn't take you back to "church". It takes you back to "CHUCH"! You gotta drop that "r" for this... ;)
All these years later, I am still shocked that Joanna has not become a huge star
She actually just debuted in broadway as one of the leads in hamilton. She did go places!
@@kbaker9753 oh cool! thanks for sharing.
@@kbaker9753 and thanks for reminding me of this video. it still gives me chills!

@@kbaker9753 such pure talent! And so feel good.
WA OHHH!!!
Damn.
hardest decision EVER!
This version is not bad
Lord. Have. Mercy.
That's all I gotta say.
@4everPrettyPrincess Street Corner Symphony deserved it more, Commited had great vocals as well but I didn't think they were as consistent as SCS
Wasn't my favorite intro of the season but still good. It was a little out of it at times. I felt they could have done better
Press 7 a couple times for some Jerry Lawson action
december 9th
Algum BR??🇧🇷
I'm creating the Jerry Lawson drinking game. One takes a shot every time he adds "Aw Lawd" to the lyrics.
dat girl
Joanna Jones is the most talented singer I think I have ever heard.
shit that was good
Go to church boo!
the chick at @1:20 looks like Justin Bieber because he is a girl too
Meh I liked Casey Abrams from Idol. There's no...I dunno how to describe his singing :P
Words cannot express how stupid that comment was.
This version is not bad
