Heavy makes for a great pocket due to his high health, but contrary to popular belief, it is actually bad to ubercharge him.
Heavy is slow moving and slow to attack, making him waste most of your ubercharge just getting into position. He's also terrible at pushing against large defensive walls because of his damage falloff and reduced minigun damage to sentries above level 1.
Instead, uber soldiers, demomen, pyros, and scouts. Demomen and Soldiers deal high, widespread damage that wrecks buildings and players, making them the best ubercharge patients. Pyro and Scout can go on killing sprees when they don't have to worry about taking damage, and scout will even boost your speed to match his, making them excellent choices as well.
At best, Heavy can be ubered to save his life, or for area denial, but not much else. The kritzkrieg is a better option for heavy since crits negate damage falloff.

I didn’t think it would take 4 years for the Medic to charge his Ubercharge, but was definitely worth the wait
He wasn't using the Quick-Fix or charging during setup time like a smart Medic should.
@@DrCoeloCephalo honestly I fucken gave up on uber once I realized everyone kept wasting it, not just heavies, but pyros and demomen as well, like only soldiers did shit with it, but at max they kill two people

It's a pretty important lesson that I had a hard time unlearning. The Medic screw ups are worst for the team because of how vital is he, this video should be required viewing after watching Meet the Medic.
medic screw ups are the worst for a team if said team cant figure out how to secure a map without being invulnerable
the medic, just like the other support classes, has extremely useful abilities but theyre moot if the team doesnt have the nesessary backbone to allow them to do their job

Alternatively, uber Heavy when playing DEFENSIVELY. Like when you're holding a point. When you're in a room full of attackers, a Ubered-Heavy is great for clearing out enemies that are advancing on you.
Also ubering a heavy on offense if he's close to the objective is really good too. Otherwise you'll be better off ubering someone else
@@hiveknight7416 Exactly. Build uber on a heavy thats advancing towards the point/enemies with the GRU or Fists of Steel, then before he dies, uber him as he switches to his Minigun (preferably the Tomislav due to the reduced spinup) and watch him shred
Super old comment, but this is actually what Meet the Medic is showing (yet so many people mis-interpret it as saying that Heavy is a good uber in all situations, which is just not true). In the video he ubers the Heavy against the ATTACKING Soldiers. This is exactly the only situation ubering the Heavy instead of all the other classes is a good idea, when the enemy is the one throwing themselves at your position.

@@Lazarultos This. Ubering a Heavy on defense is the equivalent of having an indestructible, slightly mobile, level 2 sentry that can prioritize targets and has damage ramp-up for 8 seconds.

would've been triple the work but imagine if each of the classes had their own little imagine spot depicting how much damage they could've done with an uber, only for the heavy to get it instead

I literally just showed my wife Pop It Don't Drop It yesterday as part of a tangent from a discussion about game mods. This made me think I broke UA-cam somehow.
It's great to see these come back, and as a Medic Main, I think the message is super important. I see too many Medics these days only focus on ubering either Heavy or Soldier, when Pyro and Demo are also decent candidates.

What makes it scary accurate is the medic completly ignored the severely injured soldier just to shove his medibeam up a useless heavies arse and never remove it from there.

I would argue that Heavy can be a good to Uber so long as you know when to do it; Instead of having him march toward the enemy as you’re charging him, have the enemy come to you and the Heavy. Have them rush you or your position and make them think they have an easy picking and then hit the Ubercharge, letting your Heavy gun them down as they’re now trying to flee. I’ve saved a few games that way.
I cannot even express how happy I am for more of this series.

As a Heavy main with insanely high sensitivity who leaps into danger on Uber and rips nests apart by flinging my minigun towards one doomed target at a time on a recurring basis, I greatly resent this announcement.

@@redwingchronicle7974 A good Medic has enough game sense to blitz into a pack of enemies with the Heavy and wait until he’s near-death to pop that Uber for maximum value. It’s risky, but when done right it ensures the Heavy can do maximum damage.

Only on a replay do I realize the heavy is in the background the entire short. I can definately think of things that new players might need to know that you haven't covered due to not making these for four years, like the iron bomber's projectile size

Still not as bad as ubering the spy
the spy can move in and put point blank heat on the enemy team while the rest of your team moves in, unlike the heavy who will barely even reach the enemy team if they decide not to move
so no, a spy would still be a better class to uber for a push than a heavy

I was actually Ubering the heavy 7 out of 10 times. Learning is fun.
Ubering Scouts and Pyros are the most fun you can have as a Medic and it results in many, many people dead. :)
(Also I'm new to TF2 and I just recently started watching these, so having a new one come out is a very pleasant surprise. Thank you.)

glad this series finally came back for a while, but i have a question: where's part #1 of this series?
All new players need to rewatch these again because good god they need it, idk how many times I see crusader crossbow medics miss like 3+times and ask ME to stand still instead of just using the medigun, and then when I tell them to stop trying to use the crossbow in medigun range they act like big babies and say “well you aint gettin healed anymore”
