My machine has been broken since 2015...for at least 7 years. I always had the slow blinking exclamation light, and was trying to fix it but kept it on the back burner. I watched this video and heard what you said about the circuit board for the steam wand. Mine was out of place and I never knew what it was for. Works without issue now. Now I have two coffee machines. Thank you for this.
Thank you for this! I tried everything to resolve my slow red blinking error. Thanks to your video I realized the magnet fell out of the lid of the hopper. I found it, but it back in and fixed!
I tried to prime it but no water comes out neither coffee. I believe there is something wrong with it. The clear hoses are not clogged. All noises, and the grinder works, but no water even with a full reservoir.
Hi, is there any way you can reset seaco odea go to make it forget an incomplete decalcifying process? I've gone through two cycles but then it stopped responding. I've used the test mode and everything seems fine, but it seems to have got stuck in the cleaning process and I can't get it to make coffee. Help!;)
I did the descale cycle, then the rinse, but the descale light is still on. So, I let it do a second rinse, but the descale light is still on. How many rinse cycles are normal after the first descale cycle?
HI guys, I have big problem with my dear old Saeco Talea Giro. Red alert light is flashing quickly and green drop indicator is on continuously. When I execute the procedure you recommend, everything looks OK. But right after - during the rinsing cycle - the water is not coming out and suddenly the strong shot occurs and the alert lights are back. Could you help, please?
i have a problem with my saeco talea giro plus Once i turn it on the dreg box light and the descaling light come on alternately after 2 secs Everything works in test mode but i can not figure out why it is doing this
Hi. Tried to rinse through my machine again after descaling it. At the end of each rinse cycle the machine goes through a test mode and the sound dissipates then there is a loud pop noise and the red light is flashing fast. I can't seem to get past this and according to the manual it tells me to prime the machine, which I'm essentially doing with each rinse. Please help.
A broken drip tray support is very common on the Odea. Unfortunately, this is a lengthy repair due to the fact that the center panel needs to be removed. SCG has in fact considered creating a video for this but taking the center panel off and on of this machine is quite the process that requires a bit of 'elbow grease' and may be too much to handle for typical coffee drinker. The center panel has a series of three delicate plastic clips on each side that need to be inserted into the body of the machine simultaneously. I would suggest going to a Seaco Certified Service Center to get your machine fixed. It's very easy to break other parts of the machine while attempting to get the center panel off and on. I hope this helps! - Brendan
I have a problem with my machine. All sensors are fine, but when I turn on it, look whats happen. Saeco giro problems. Recently I open my machine to clean (ants) and I ve tried to align the Drive Gears as show at this video, but the using that guide the brew unit cannot be inserted. Saeco Talea/Odea Changing Brew Drive Gears - Two Kind Gears Should you help me ?
Hi Jean Fernandes & thank you for the videos! It sounds like you’re having a problem with the machine properly cycling the brew unit, and it is very difficult to tell without actually seeing the machine if this is the brew unit, the gear, sensors, or the motor that is having the problem. I would recommend either bringing it into us for some repair, or if you have a closer authorized repair center, you could check with them too. Hope this helps! - Miranda
This happened to me when I turned the grinding knob all the way to the left... When I turned it a bit to the right, it actually stopped dumping them. Though, it's been 5 years so who knows if you even have the machine anymore..
Hi, thanks for your videos, they are very insightful. If I may ask some help on a problem you touch upon, but I couldn't extract the solution: After having had a problem with my brewing unit (it wasn't detected somehow), I placed it back in. But when I turn on the machine, it goes to "working mode" automatically. When you make a coffee, the pump seems to have a hard time (it works well in test mode, without the brewing-unit), no water/coffee will flow into your cup and afterwards the machine complains about no brewing-unit again (alternating flashing top/bottom lights ) Many thanks in advance!
Hello there, unfortunately the Talea is an aging model that isn't supported by Saeco anymore. If you can get the grinder to turn you could try using something like Urnex SuperGrindz in it, but if it's completely seized I don't have any great advice for a solution.
Hi there, i have one on those babys, for some reason it recently only works on first bean strength setting, on two or three beans grinds compacts and ejects coffee , not brewed . Any ideas? Thanks and regards
+cip damo Hi- answered your other post. But here it is again: Sounds like your grind is too course. So too much coffee is going into the brew unit, and when the machine tries to tamp, it's encountering too much pressure/resistance, so it discards the grounds as self-preservation. Try going finer (1-2 notches) and change it while the machine is grinding, then brew 4 cycles to clear out the mixture of old and new settings. If that doesn't do it, then it would likely need some repair, but give that a shot!
Hi, I bought Phillips saeco odea couple of months ago. Every time I turn the machine on it goes through the rinsing cycle, with all the lights flashing and a little bit of hot water coming out. Then it goes through the regular brew. Please let me know if that's a problem and how to fix it. Thank you in advance.
It's normal for the lights to be flashing during rinsing cycle. Your machine should not be brewing a shot without you pressing the brew button. If your machine is in fact brewing a shot without pressing the brew button, it needs to be taken into a Saeco certified service center. - Brendan
Seattle Coffee Gear Hi, thank you for your reply. My machine is not brewing coffee without pressing the brew button. What it does is that is goes through the rinse cycle every time I turn it on, without me doing anything. Is that normal? I didn't see that happening in any of the videos that you show nor did I see it in the instruction booklet. Thank you in advance.
beatricedance Hi there, Yes, this is a normal process for the Talea Giro. Every time the Talea Giro is turned on it will automatically go into it's Rinse Cycle. This is good because it keeps your brew unit clean but it heats up the water path in the machine as well, which is very important. Thanks! -Brendan
I got a problem here ! mine flashes descalcifier and the icon upon it (both reds). I tried the test mode... and NO HOT WATER COMES OUT... what could it be? tahnk you
So your '!' is flashing along with your descale light? I'm guessing you are triggering your general alarm somehow while your machine is telling you that you need to descale. For the general alarm check your bean hopper lid, steam valve knob is properly shut, your brew unit is making contact with the switch behind the brew unit wall and that the magnet on your dredge box is not obstructed. If your alarms continue to flash please let us know. - Steven
HI, Many thanks for the video, very helpful. My Talea as soon as i switch it on, has the exclamation led on, steady. Following your explanations, i checked the water tank, it's full close to max but still, i cannot do anything. I was looking for water sensor but could not find it. I would really appreciate any hint. All the best.
Hi Adi Ungur, If your machine is not recognizing that the water tank is in place, I would suggest turning the machine on and off a few times. Then, with the machine turned on, try to reset all sensors by removing all the pieces and leaving them out of the machine for about 15 seconds. Then replace them and be sure the water tank is firmly seated in the machine. If this doesn’t do it, the sensor in the machine may be failing and we’d need to take a look here, or Saeco could let you know of a closer service center if you give them a call at 800-372-4734. Hopefully this does it! - Teri
Hi... as usual, I think you guys are great! Bought my machine from you and it was 'broken' for a little while, so I remember having this issue, but have forgotten how to resolve it. I just descaled my machine. I ran the rinse cycle and the light won't go out, so I ran a few more and still no luck; I can't get OUTTTT! I tried dropping into test mode and back out, but still no luck- any thoughts? I thought I would try to reset, but can only find the video for the odea. Thanks!
Hi Km C! On the Talea's, once you’re in the descale mode you have to go all the way through it without turning off the machine. It may take as many as 12-15 tanks of water to run through (which can be frustrating!), so sometimes “tricking” the machine by putting in a full tank of water to rinse, and as it starts to continue the rinsing, you can pull out the water tank, causing the machine to believe it ran out of water. It may take several times of doing this, but eventually the descale light will clear. - Miranda
I love your videos; i'm sure they helped many people, maybe it will also help me :) ? On my Odea Giro i have a sensor or magnetic problem with the water reservoir... It is perfectly explained on this video (Saeco Talea Giro Plus Water Problem - If you know a solution please leave comment or message me) but nobody came with a solution. Do you have any idea what is to be replaced/fixed ?
Hello Arb ra, It looks like the gentleman in the video is correct and it appears there is a sensor in the machine that is failing. The sensor could even need just a slight adjustment inside the body of the machine, but we don't normally advise customers to do this at home as it may cause more damage and void the machine's warranty. We recommend taking your machine into a Saeco authorized service center for a look. - Sarah

Our 8 year old machine worked flawlessly up until now , doesn't turn on at all ,I'm assuming a technician has to have a look at it?

Put small magnet next to water magnet (sensor) in water tray.
