If however, you are a collector rather than a hard user or one time assassin, then AUS 8 or whatever shouldn't be a problem. The "field-strip" Goken linerlock with a 3.75" blade is available at Chicago Knifeworks for $35.09 (US). The blade sadly is not even AUS 8. It's stated simply as "stainless". Should be fun to strip and reassemble for one's next assignment.
Yes I agree today you have much better steel options than 10 years ago but CRKT is using the less expensive stells to keep the cost down if you think about the intended purpose of this knife then stell should be not an issue. I like the goken such a nice light knife and only flipper in line line.
This is my primary EDC carry. I practice everyday opening it. Ive mastered it! Its a great knife 🔪! Great video!
