@@NettleReef..... You could add one more piece and another pivot point... And have a vertical stick that pushes forward and pulls back.... Pivot point would be about 1/3 up... Won't have to move the stick as far for steering.... May have to glue on another boat oar lock on the inner side of the tube..... But it's a great idea , reminds me of the linkage inside of RC airplanes....
Mine gets squirrley sitting on the tube. I personally prefer sitting on the floor, across the beam, legs over one tube, and leaning against the other. Lean on starboard side so you dont crowd yourself with the tiller. Center of gravity is low, much more stable, planes well, can have lots of fun with sharp inputs, good suspension by lifting your but off the floor, easy trolling with rod between knees. Grew up with inflatables. Have a 11' achilles that's 25 yrs old now. Inflatables are the best for storeage, float flying, stability and heft. I was thinking of rigging up a console for one that you could seat yourself in center, near floor, with steering wheel. First inflatable was 10 foot achilles with 15 honda. Decided to try a speed record on a calm day. Tiller extension, leaning forward, and on port side to counter motor torque that lifted that side... getting up to speed, port side started lifting, so leaned further out and man, does that ferl fast!! Next recollection was bobbing out of the water and looking at my boat upside down with gear scattered everywhere. Gave a couple of lads on shore a great show. Great fun!!
This is just what I'm looking for. Thank You!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks, have subscribed.
outstanding...nicely done
Thank you kindly
very cool. I might do the same thing I my 16' boat, but add a bike brake to throttle up and down with a return to idle spring and a kill switch.
Love it.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Genius. Nice work sir.
Thank you kindly!
