The ugliest tend out there. Window pulls that look ridiculous…Hate this look. Prefer more subtle architectural windows like I give in my real estate photos. This trend needs to die soon… Nice tutorial anyway.
Just shooting a window pull with flash and then darken mode in post and you would be done in about 1/10th the time it took to do this. Time being money for a photographer/editor this seems to be doing things the extremely long way around. It is a different technique to add to your toolbox but one you would never use.
the moment you pick the pen tool, i left this message and skip your video. on your example it's easy because there's no blinds or stuff like plants or flowers around the window.
Fair enough. I guess I could have used a selection method like color range which would have been useful in those situations. I’ll see if I can find some raws for images like that and do a video doing that. Thanks for the idea.
I would blur the window content just a tiny bit to make the depth of field more obvious and the window view less distracting. I know it's how it was shot, but prefer to emphasise it more.
I mean it definitely works, but I’m just gonna do a window pull in two seconds plus I’m never sending anything overseas. Nobody’s ever touched in my photos nobody ever will.
I agree you can save a bunch of time sending over seas but even if you found a great editor, you still need to know how to do this all yourself. Like having a wicked self driving car - you still need to have a license and know how to drive yourself.
I feel like some overseas editors made this to trick American editors thinking this super convoluted way was a good technique so that they would continue to be super slow and clients would need to hire people from overseas
Well, it works, because you have an unobstructed view at the window. Try the same technique with the plant covering half of the window..
You are a genius

Always good to know how even if you don't use it every day. Like knowing how to change a tire. Comes in handy when you need it.
Definitely my go to technique too. Way easier and great results. This video seemed like a ton of extra work.
@@zachbrown9358 And occasionally you forget to get the window pull shot. My older brain does that occasionally.
Do you have a good tutorial on how to do that?

What tool would you use for the task?

Awesome tutorial. I don't do flash pulls so this is great!
Thanks, very interesting but why bother? Just shoot a window pull.
Yep I agree - but always good to know a different method incase your flash fails or forgot to take a flash shot.
what a great tutorial - I'm now a big fan of yours.... thanks!
You're very welcome!
I stopped watching at "just going to outline the windows here"
Great tool to know how to do windows if you can’t take a flash. Thank you!
You know, having a higher contrast outside the windows will direct the eyes there and not in the interiors.
for a dollar a pic..i'll be sending overseas...lol
Great video $
Thanks! You should check out my course for more helpful info.
slowest technique

I do all my own editing so really appreciate your willingness to share this technique.
You’re very welcome!
one of the better videos on UA-cam ! thank you
Why waste so much time doing it this way?
I blend my imges...never used a pen tool...pen tool is for noobs!
Your final product doesn’t look as good as the overseas editors will make it bro - let them save you time 💯💯
