13 DAYS?
As long as your having fun
13 DAYS? those are rookie numbers, 29d baby
haha i've got 630 hours in my current save file, 2,700 hours total. keep playing you'll get there. but i warn you this game is addictive haha.
patryk ziarko aka 312 hours
Me at midnight: damn, i gotta work tomorrow, let's go to sleep
My brain: *T H E F A C T O R Y H A S T O G R O W*
Thats me at 11, 12, 2, 3 and either 4 or 5 is when I quit lol
So true.
32 hours in and I didn't even know there was a bloody map!
LOL I'm 50 hours in and only knew there was a map because I spotted it in the keyboard bindings. I haven't researched quartz because I was waiting to find a vein.
What's the key for PC?
@@alex-agix Z
I do know thanks
@@alex-agix It's 'Z' but the key won't work until you've researched Quartz to level 7 in the M.A.M.
My best tip I didn't see in this one is putting just one "bar" of conveyor belt out of your storages, that way the material inside will roll out and you can see what it contains!
Thanks for that
Brilliant! :) They should make a craftable sign, what you can place on those containers.
Hit F and hover over it to quickly check the contents also works great if there are multiple different items inside
Update 5: Just place a screen on it and choose the icon
I will put labels everywhere, once I have time for this:D
I've got over 500 hours into this game and I had no idea you could put miners on foundations. Great find. You get a Like Sir.
Wow xD 😂😂
Sucks to be u i guess😄
Might be now. Wasn't when I first started playing.
I've been playing since before this video and just now watched it for fun and didn't know that. So when he says tips for noobs and veterans, well he isn't lying.
As a brand new player with only 10 or so hours, thank you so much for not spoiling later technologies and giving amazing advice!
2 years later hows ur factory going
Gonna be honest, i got distracted by hollow knight and totally forgot about it. But it WAS looking good for a week there.
Great tips there, also here are some from me.
1) Overclocking is a thing, however at the early game try to downclock stuff. It has exponential power decrease, and will be way easier to increase production later. 2 smelters at 50% use less power then one smelter.
You have a pure node and only 60/min belt? Set 8 smelters to produce 7.5 ingots each (25%). That will not only make them use almost no power, but when you get 120/min belt you can set them to 50%, and with 270/min belt to 100%.
2) Use "N". It lets you find a recipe to build an item, same as it gives you access to unlocked alternative recipes you have! No need to build machines to check them any more.
"N" also works as calculator. Type: 240/8+15 and no more Alt-Tabbing =)
3) You can jump out of car just before it lands to avoid getting damage... Saved me soooo many times. (it works with factory carts too. So you can use those for "leap of faith")
i never thought of preplanning this hard and i absolutely know what im gonna do my next playthough
@@raptorpeep2622 It's actually not that effective anymore.
@@ravusesports9541 What is?
What he says here is completely correct, overclocking your machines is a convenient shortcut/cheat to boost production temporarily but any situation you're tempted to overclock will almost invariably be better long term to just build more production machines and tune them with underclocking. The energy consumption is overall lower and your factory gets that much cooler looking with multiple machines running for less total power than 1 super charged machine. Always build at least 50% more than you think you need on paper and just run them slower
I like to use that first tip to cheat concrete production because I'm too lazy to load balance to 45 limestone/min xd
One important thing to mention with Satisfactory, is that new players should not be afraid to try different setups and styles of building machinery. This game is very beginner-friendly (as well as veteran-friendly), and you can't really do anything "wrong"... build a mess or build with style, the factory will still produce. Every recipe is intutive and easy to remember, and nothing is too complicated to make the game annoying. The player choose the difficulty. You can calculate every little production line with perfection if you want, or you can just create a huge spaghetti-mess... that's up to you, and the game lets you do it. That is why it's so addictive and fun. The feeling of freedom and satisfaction from your own creations, truly gets to you in this game.
This is a perfect recipe for a good game. The player's learning curve comes from their own faults and successes. - It's not the game that limits the player.
That's the strength of user-driven narrative instead of a forced, artificial, myopic designer-driven narrative. :-)
i.e. Sandbox game.
YOU decide at the pace you wish to proceed at. It is empowering the user to experiment: build, observe, optimize, and repeat.
Technically, _Satisfactory_ isn't even a game -- since there is no hard win or hard loses -- but damn, who knew "just playing" was so damn addicting!
This game stated that it's still in early access. But everytime i played and watched this kind of tip video, i'm so amazed of how polished and how detail it is. Im still on 13hours and cant stop playing it damn
This early access game has more content and runs better than many fully released AAA games that cost twice as much. I barely buy AAA games anymore because there are so many awesome "indie games" like this one. Another example of a great "indie game" is Subnautica, that game is truly an adventure.
Håkon T. I love early access and indie games. I been playing BeamNG/automation, besiege, stormworks, satisfactory.
I've been exceedingly impressed with how well placing buildings and conveyor belts "just works." I normally avoid early access and wait for full versions of things.
@@danbance5799 I agree, the user interface is quite intuitive and smooth.
@@hakont.4960 I think the term AA ('double-A') has been used for developers/games like this.
One very good tip for energy: While you're on your way getting to coal generators: Finish the "Alien Organs" research in the M.A.M. But prioritize the "organic properties" path. With this, you can make 200 Biomass out of 1 Alien Organ. I wish I knew this earlier, but yeah, for everyone who's struggling with finding plants and falling trees (especially in the desert area), this is a must do before having access to coal generators.
I tend to save the organs for making healing items and convert the carapaces into biomass
Same I would use the alien organs for medical inhalers
i keep one stack of organs in my box the rest i turn into biomass.
Same here. I have a short production line to turn organic stuff into Solid Biofuel. Storage Container --> Manufacturer (convert wood, leaves, alien stuff) to Biomass --> Storage Container --> Manufacturer (convert Biomass to Solid Biofuel) --> Storage Container. That way, I can dump a bunch of stuff in the first storage container and get the Solid Biofuel later. The second storage container is for researching stuff that needs Biomass. Unlocking the Chainsaw is a big help.
@@KneelB4Bacon that's what I do. Although I was a little irritated when I needed biomass for fabric but it had all been converted to solid biofuel already. Oh well, I learned the hard way.
80 hours into the game and i had no idea you could slide.
aye
I found it by accident, but I didn't know about jump height or sliding under conveyors. I also found the assigning of inventory hotkeys, but not scrolling through them.
I tried because I played Apex lol
@@uncommonsense7821 lgio and apex for me
You poor soul.
My tip: When building large amounts of items at the Craft Bench, hover your mouse over the button and hit space. It'll automatically start hammering away without having to hold down your mouse. To swap items quickly, just select a different item without having hit space again.
Wait, you can build stuff by holding down the mouse?
@@abebuckingham8198 Yes you can, but it isn't automatic, so you can't walk away from your computer and do something else, especially when you're building something that takes long to craft.
@@trefe_563 you can if you hold space and click in an empty space, and it will basically hold down the button as long as you want
@@trefe_563 let’s make stuff more crazy. If you press space once it keeps crafting until you can’t no more
I'm almost 500 hours in, and I only knew about half of these (that ctrl/shift click item swapping is something I've wished for multiple times, and had no idea it was already implemented). A couple more worth mentioning:
1) When you're placing some things (I've used it with belts, foundations, and walls), you can hold down E to bring up a little selection wheel that lets you easily swap to other things in the same category.
2) You can work on multiple milestones at the same time - switch between them as you add the items, and then once you've added everything you want, you can hit the big red button for each of them without having to wait for the countdown between each one.
I didn’t know about multiple milestone at once! After 60 hours I though I had a good handle on things! 😂
Best tip for me was the overclocking. Never ocurred to me i could set it to a precise value.
and you can also underclock it. to perfectly manage your resources.
You can also recover power shards from your machines if you un-clock the machine first, then pull out the shards before you deconstruct it.
@@KneelB4Bacon If you deconstruct a building that has a shard in it you will get it back no matter what.
One thing I figured out last night was even though sometimes you cannot get a precise output per minute you want because its not an integer value, if you do the math usually you can via a combination of 2 or more machines get them to combine to exactly what you want. Example, you want 3 machines to output 15 ppm but the output is rounded to 4.95 or 5.1 (not 5 exactly) but 4.95 + 4.95 + 5.1 = 15.0 so you can get it perfect.
Your voice is amazing. You speak very clearly, your voice is soft and you don't sound like a typical ultra-caffeinated hyper UA-camr. Keep it up!
My tips:
- When you go exploring, build a hypertube and power poles on your way. Yes you'll have to return to your base for materials every now and then but it'll only take a little time - and it'll only take a little time to get back where you died.
- You forgot that pressing Ctrl also builds additional buildings aligned with the initial building, so you can build a whole aligned row of constructors or refineries with just ctrl + clicking. Although for refineries I found that there might be some issues on certain tight pipe connections.
- Stacking mergers/splitters up from foundation level is in my opinion much more powerful approach to getting nicely aligned belt systems. Build a stack, then dismantle any that you don't need.
- Crouch sliding not only allows you to jump higher, it also allows you to run faster. Or rather, the jump is faster than running speed. Especially when using blade runners. Just chain your jumps and make sure you don't bump into anything.
- There's a control "Hold to run" that, if you switch it off, changes the Run key (shift) to toggle.
I had to come back to this to thank you. The crouch sliding movement improves the gameplay so much; best tip by far!
Lmao who has the time and rescources to build a 3km hyperloop just for exploration, I am not carrying 3000 copper sheets and steel pipes around
I really need that run toggle, my hand gets sore after hours of holding shift down lol
One more point not in the video: Building the splitter/merger on the belt is cool and all, but it DOES NOT LINK it. You have to dismantle the belt and link the two new segments.
Sigh.. when you're like 19 hours+ in and realize now due to this video that you can have conveyor poles at a height! I had so many just stuck on the ground when I could have had them up in the air wow. cheers.
I just started this game with neutral expectations and I got really hyped pretty fast. My whole weekend was just gone. And this video is so damn helpful. Ty a lot.
For 4:18 placing foundations quickly, they now have a build mode called "Zoop" where you can place 10 in a row at a time in a line. Click once at the start and aim where you want to end. This works with ramps as well too.
I think that wasnt in the game yet (the video is 3 years old).
So helpful, holy crap. Middle click, hotbar, splitters on existing belts, miners on foundations, conveyor pole ladders, MASS DELETE! You changed they way I was playing the game.
Also to add to the tip about keeping jet pack and blades in storage. Also keep spare weapon as well
and fuel
And some spider poison....
Been sitting here for like 20 mins hittin this Caterium ore with my hand hurting..... heard the auto mining tip and love u so very much
You were right, "something for everybody, even veterans" I'm over 500 hours and still taught me a couple things. Never thought to use conveyor poles for a ladder, Double ramps are fine but early on having to lay a flat foundation then a single ramp is a pain. Good vid man. Game on!
Well I'm 3 minutes into this vid and I've already learned more than I did in 11 hours playing this game, so thanks for adding to my efficiency, Catfish!
Lol i started running over creatures as soon as I got the tractor. Great to see I wasn't being cheeky 😜
It's soo satisfyin to squish the big animals with the tractor. They're not quite as tough after they've been squished by a big tractor.
Most of the time when I watch a [XX tips for XX game] video, I end up rolling my eyes at the list of obvious things that are right there in the UI. NOT THIS TIME, OH NO! I've got almost 400 hours and (embarrassingly) I didn't know a LOT of these! The c-slide, entering the exact number of items per min into the overclock UI... You've just made this game a lot more fun for me! Thanks for a great vid.
Thank you! I'm so glad to hear it!
@@MaxTheCatfish pssshhh I'm not the only one so *don't thank me, THANK YOU*! Over 300 comments, and all the ones I've seen say the same; they learned at least one new game changing thing here. I seriously haven't seen a tips vid this ACTUALLY informative and new... uhhh... /yet/, I guess. Read the rest of the comments! They're all saying, holy shit I didn't know [this or that]! I watch almost nothing but games vids on YT - and have for 10+ years - and this is one of the most helpful ones ever. Again, thank YOU.
I subscribed to you, because you do not act like a 3 year old, and you can hold a calm camera without jumping all over the place, and know how to speak clearly.
You do a great job.
Thank you!
I'm two days into this game and I'm hooked! Thanks for the tips. Im saving to watch later and share with my friends who have yet to play.
Just got the game today and really appreciate this video, also I enjoyed reading your steam review :)
Hey thanks so much! And thanks for checking out the channel! 😀
.... So he says he's got 20 tips I might not know ... I didn't know about 15 of'em ...
And yet I saw a "40+ Tips!" vid... and didn't know 1 of'em ...
Fabulous job.
Awesome video! Some great tips! I look forward to seeing more videos!
Thanks man! Same goes to you!
My top tip that I've never seen anyone mention is that if you have a long belt and want to cut it in half you can place a split or merge node and afterwards you can remove the part of the belt that goes in or out. In that way you don't have to re-do the whole belt when it's just a bit too long
Wow genuinely a useful video. Thank you so much for making this. GOD DAMN IT the control key when building!!!
Man, I super appreciate this video. Just got the game and put 5 hours into it yesterday. I'm excited to jump back in later with all this new knowledge.
literally the most useful tutorial/tips video about satisfactory basics. Learned a bunch of new information :D thank you
Great info and excellent presentation. I especially like you tip at 1:08 for splitting your hot-bar to use 1,2,3,4,alt-1,alt-2,alt-3,alt-4,alt-5. Very clever.
9:28 and if the miner is in the boonies the AWESOME sink keeps it running and then just have a minimum of 5 foundations at the site of the miner (see the tip about being able to place foundations under the miner) to keep any hostile mobs killed near the site from respawning (spawn is only suspended if the mob was killed at least once, at least one building is powered and running, and in proximity to 5 or more other buildings [that don't need to be powered thus includes foundations, but not power poles]). This setup may be revised in Update 3 to pass through a smart splitter with the lane going to the AWESOME sink set as overflow and the others set to pass normally (maybe to a storage or later the factory when those resources are needed). The sink will then only take the resources not being used.
wow, half of those tips are new to me, and i've watched already a lot of tips. THANKS!
You can also delete the conveyer poles after setting up the belts, to save resources and space underneath.
What I also like to do is put a high foundation and put the splitters / merges on top and then delete the foundation so you always have a nice path to walk in your base. With the splitters floating over your head and blocking no space.
Clickbait means nothing when it cheers you up like this. Best captain image possible, yes, pet doggs and thank you dear sir :)
Ive been playing since release on epic and this video crushed my soul. I dont know how much time I must've wasted not knowing a some of these things 😅
Older gamer here, I feel your pain. I just started last night and I'm standing around for hours with my zeno up my butt not knowing what I'm supposed to do next. Just surviving the first Ram Hog trying to get my first few crumbs of iron, had me dizzy and respawning 3 times. 2 hours in I find out(thanks to the interweb) that some plants heal. These games and their lack of tutorials these days, have no real care for the casual player. Sigh....I think the main thing these Ytuber Satisfactory folks should tell you is you need to just move through as many upgrades with as little building as possible. Build up the tech and supplies. Then sandbox with all of your goodies and see how to connect and build. Otherwise you'll be rebuilding your setup over and over again and again...Running here n there, dieing a couple more times just to set up your first conveyor. Which didn't do me any good btw.
This game can sometimes be called SATIS-FRUSTRATING. Almost an oxymoron.
Example: One Ytuber (self proclaimed expert) said you can use the portable miner or setup a few smelters. He even shows us he's placing smelters on top of the ore deposits. So I did that, after running around getting enough materials to make 3 smelters. They just sat there. WELL OF COURSE......he should of showed us that at upgrade 4 you get Miner MK1, not smelters. Space Engineers isn't any better with their little to no teachings.
OIY!!!
Lol this is why I looked for tips videos now before I got too deep. Thankfully I’ll be avoiding your pain.
You're a life saver, literally. I have only 50 hours on this game, a lot of these tips can save me huge amount of time.
While I didn't learn anything new, I think that your presentation was very well done and highly informative
What an amazing tip video for once. Normally I only see stuff I already know. Barely knew any of these.
I just bought the game 2 days ago (and haven't slept yet) most of them if not all of those tips were usefull. OMG thank you !
This is great, I knew a few of these through trial and error but definitely a lot of helpful tips here! Thanks.
So many useful tips for me here. Sliding under conveyors, setting overclock to a production target, multi disassemble, that there even is a map, tab to auto mine, pressing ctrl to move all from a specific item to another container...
I watch you and i play quite a bit.... and I still learned from this vid, thanks friend
Dude, thanks so much! I figure a lot of our Twitch viewers will know most of these, but glad to have surprised you with something! ;)
Absolutely awesome video!!! Played like only 50 hours so far but received so many greats tips, thx a lot!
Nice 1. It took me far more than 100 hours to find these little helpers.
I wanted to recommend the hypertube railgun as #21, but you had this in your outro. Use a jetpack for better results.
But what´s most important: #22: Buy the double ramps from your first coupons.
#23: Get a rifle.
#24: Get alternate recipes from hard drives.
#25: If you have questions, join the satisfactory discord. It´s such a nice and helpful community.
I’ve played 300+ hours and I learned quite a bit from your video. Thanks!
Great vid. Knew most of the stuff, but the few things I didn't are definitely gonna be helpful. Totally worth the watch and awesomely quick and concise editing. Cheers
Wow, so many good tips it was hilarious. I guess my favorite one was the ctrl+click to transfer stacks between storage.. I was just shift-clicking. Thank you. big like.
Excellent video. Very concise with great examples shown and super useful tips. Thanks!
I’ve only got a few dozen hours in this game, but this is one of the most useful tips video I’ve seen. Normally these types of videos are too advanced and don’t cover simple yet extremely useful tricks.
Thanks! Just started, loving this game. Super helpful.
This guy should have waaay more subs than other two, the tips have actually some value here ! GJ
I just discovered that when you open up your inventory, put the mouse cursor on the 'inventory' side, not 'character' side, and use any of the number key on your keyboard (1, 2, 3, etc) corresponding to the item order, starting from left, placed in the 'Equipement Shortcuts:' area to wear/equip the corresponding equipement right away, without having to double-click or drag and drop.
WAIT GEAR LIKE THAT GETS TO USE THE HOTBAR TOO WHAT THE FUCK THATS SOME GOOD NEWS
Just started with the game yesterday but these are great tips!!
Thank you for making this vid :)
Tip: Control + Clicking on a stack of power shards instantly applies them instead of having to drag them or Shift + Clicking 3 times.
I just started semi-recently.. and found the "replace belts/power poles" one on my own and man it was game changing.. I looked back, mentally, at all the times I'd manually rebuilt a long conveyor line and shook my fist at the Sky Supervisor
Yeah - I didn't know about this. Huge time saver.
Great vid, the tips that were news to me: Precision values on overclock, using ladders for climbing mountains, MMB for copying (yay!), multiple shortcut rows. Useful QoL stuff, thanks!
We got the exact same new info. Very helpful!
Man this video is so great. It is going to make my life so much easier. Thank you man. You definitely deserve a sub.
Early game, if the resource node is far - like, a coal ore node - place a biofuel generator next to it, and downclock the generator so it generates barely enough electricity for the miner, no more. It now stays fueled for years.
Thx for these helpful tips. Much appreciated, good work man :D
Good list, I learned a couple of things, thanks for that!
CTRL-Left Click transfers all items of a given type. THANK YOU!
Manual crafting tip: Click on the craft button. Unplug the mouse while holding the button down. Crafting continues. :)
Bro your tip on auto resetting the conveyor belts just saved me at least two hours of redoing all of my mark 1s to mark 4s. I luv u bro
Great video! Learned a couple things here. Look forward to seeing more ;)
best tip video i has seen so far. thanks!
So awesome and so useful. Thank you!
Thanks for all the tips everyone, really helps!!
there are a lot of tips vids for this game. I watched them all before this one. I'm 2 minutes in... This is best one. Actually helpful. Ty
By far the best video on Tips so far.
The devs actually thought of everything
I found 10 things that I never even knew I wanted on here
Man I loved the tips, want to see more!!
Awesome video. 30 hours in and I learned oodles !!!
My guy! This video is dope! Ty for the great content.
Great, concise and comprehensive video 👍🏻
This is gold. Thank you!
Foundations and Alignments of my buildings?
Mine are Chaotic Evil for sure
You can build mutiple items (especially foundations/walls) to a maximum of ten in a row by using the builder option wheel ! (instead doing it 1 by 1 facing the edge)
your such an awesome streamer, been watching you for over a year and must say I learnt a lot from this video :D
Aww thanks Emvidia! 😃
Now these are actually good tips. Thank you.
Superb! Thank you so much!
Very helpful, thank you so much.
Wish I watched this 1,100 hours ago. :) Learned 11 new things - my fav not needing to hold down E when mining. Thank you!
thanks man! new players here, so useful!
This is very helpful! Didn’t know about the snap to guideline thing. I learnt how to align building the hard way😅
Lol yeah I’ve just been shifting back and forth looking for that blue line to show up
I knew all of these except typing in the overclock amount. THANK YOU SO MUCH
excellent video! so many good tips and presented so cleanly :3
Great tips video. I'm still hoping for random-generated worlds/maps now. Would make each new playthrough even more unique/fresh.
Single best tip stream ever, liked and subbed.well done.😊
Super helpful, Thanks!
Thank you for this, I learned a lot. :)
best tips video i've seen yet, thanks
This video helped a lot thank you!
250 hours in and did not know about Ctrl click for inventory movement and delete.. omg thank you.
Very useful. Thank You
