My enamel paints fell straight to the bottom of the bowl. Do you mix the enamel paint with water or other pouring medium to thin the paint before putting on top of the water?

Only when enamel paint is been used, they will float on water and you will be able to coat the pot with the random designs that appear on the surface.
When using acrylic paint , they will not float in the water and will settle in the bottom of the vessel.

The paint will not stick to the plastic pot as like that it sticks in a mud pot.
