Kinda of a long shot considering this video was 5 years ago but any I bought a 420 rancher manual it will only run 30 I just want a stock gear reduction
2018 Rubicon IRS and want to run either 29.5 OL2's or Silverbacks on a 14" rim, I'm guessing you'd recommend a 35%??? Southern Ohio mud has a lot of clay if that helps. Any help is appreciated
I got a 2016 Rubicon 500... with 30 Outbacks... fixen to get the wife a 5inch lift so whatcha think on a reduction...we are in East Texas about 15miles from Mud Creek where they have Mud Nationals every year
I have a Honda FourTrax 300fw 1999, and planing to get maybe 27" mayhems, 25" zillas, or 26" mud lite xl w/ SS212 12". So is the normal gear retio good enought to spin the tires is some mud and swampy areas?
I got a 2016 rubicon with 28 inch terms.. huge difference in power and speed over stock. what gear reduction do you recommend ? I would prefer not to do any milling or grinding to the case... or what is the easiest/ smallest gear reduction
thinking about trading my 15 outlander 650 for a 14 foreman 500 on 21's and was wondering where I could get a 27% reduction and about how much would it cost?
I know I’m kinda late to this but I’m looking into getting bigger tires on a 2017 Honda rancher 420 foot shift. I got 26x10 on it now looking to go up to at least 28s nothing wider than a 10. Been looking at zillas and og outlaws. Would I need a gear reduction to effectively spin either tire? the worst mud around here is clay and a little bit of sandy like mud. Any help at all would be great.
Question. What do you think about the Polaris 570 sportsman? I live in Canada, own a 400 rancher, would like to purchase a DCT rubi, but the price for one could almost buy me 2 brand new 570s. I want more power, and some reliability. The forums don't tell you much other then heat problems. Whats the name of your Facebook page were you can post, and view inputs of atv owners ? Love your videos man! Can-ham bashing never gets OLD!
thanks for your reply man! I looked at the 570 utility edition The official site said it had lower gears. So i went to the parts diagram, the helical gear is 44 tooth compared to 33 tooth on the regular models! Im not sure if the helical gear is low gear tho. I sub to your channel man keep the good vids rolling.
Just bought a 2012 Rancher 420 EPS running 295 outlaw wides. I'm considering doing a spool lock in the front since I can't find a DGL, and it's EPS. Is it worth it? I still want the bike to be fun to ride.
How to fix help!!!!! 2012 foreman 500 fpa Ted gear reduction gear shift not working tried shaving vs sensor 1/8 no luck, keep shaving ?why wasnt in the instructions
Electric shift power steering. Saw a guy said shave 1/8 off of speed sensor and will work ,reading engine rpm too high electric shift went into limp mode stays in one gear after few min of riding,no instructions in the waste my money expensive kit about it at all
Would be the secondary I guess ordered from highlifter gear is smaller so further away from speed sensor can ride after few min locked into whatever gear I last shifted and stays until key off reset start again or just stay in that gear
Talked to a kid on instagram that said he had a primary and secondary in his rancher DCT. I was always told the primary doesn’t work with those models, just like you said. I put the SRA gears in mine for now, but don’t know if that will be enough for 27-28 outlaws. What do you think? Should I get a bigger secondary reduction?
I have a rancher just to drive and have fun with in a little mud but nothing crazy but I would like to build a dedicated mud bike, which Honda would you suggest as a first dedicated mud bike?
I want to do a secondary and primary reduction to balance things out. Now if i wanna achieve between 30 to 35% total reduction i can combine the 12.5% secondary and a 20% primary. To make up a 32% total. Is that how it works or am i wrong. I have a 17' foreman footshift. Thanks!
Okay thank you so much for the quick reply. Tried to get that answer on the FB Page. Wanted to balance things out for the better, but if your saying just do a 40% and forget it, i should probably go that route 🤣. Thanks again, stay safe
Hi Mud puppy since I like you channel I want to know you thoughts on the CVT clutch system Honda has. I'm thinking about the foot shift over the CVT. thanks Mike.
mike black the only CVT Honda has in the old sra Rubicons very interesting tranny it's sorta like a hydrostat. that thing is 499cc and has a 4 valve head so it rips it's like a Rincon with really low gears I kinda want one. the new Honda automatics are continuously variable (CVT) they're just automatic 5 speeds they shift real fast double clutch. for mud riding water and abuse a footshift is where it's at
+Mud Puppy (MudPuppy) ok do you think 3 1/4" would be too hard on the axles? On the 16's did you custom drill the bolt pattern or did they fit already?
Mud Crawler 1 mine was maxed... weld on bracket and spring spacer. axles did fine with the locker for the most part. they come 4/114 close enough to 4/110 4/108 is obviously better
+Mud Puppy (MudPuppy) gotcha, I've already got a 2" lift so I'll just sell the Highlifter springs I've got and put some 1/2" spacers. I see I thought 4/114 would've been too far off I'll have to try a set out. Thanks for the info.
I have a 2012 Honda rancher 420 es fpe 4x4 on the go I put bigger rims and tires on it 28x12.50/12 on rear and 28x10.50/12 on the front and now when the tires get half way or over half way in the mud they will not spin anymore I added a K&N Air filter but now it like it's idling too high and jumps when it's put in gear and will not come out 1st gear or reverse unless you put your hand over The snorkel to restrict the airflow. Anything you can do to help me with this
Would like to get a gear reduction for my 2015 foreman rubicon foot shift, any idea where I can get one before Memorial Day weekend. I live in Wilmer Alabama
Thanks for the great information
Your the man 😎 Always on point ! 👌🏼

Hey must puppy are you still messing with gear reductions? I need a secondary fit a 2007 rubi! I want the Pansey! To keep some to end
Can you do me a gear reduction for my 2007 polaris hawkeye 300? Or point me in the right direction...
Kinda of a long shot considering this video was 5 years ago but any I bought a 420 rancher manual it will only run 30 I just want a stock gear reduction
Why do you need a reduction?
Helps control the wheel speed for technical riding. Also if the mud is super thick it saves the centrifugal clutch.
Any ideas on reduction for the big bear in your picture? I've got a 07 big bear 400
it cant be done
2018 Rubicon IRS and want to run either 29.5 OL2's or Silverbacks on a 14" rim, I'm guessing you'd recommend a 35%??? Southern Ohio mud has a lot of clay if that helps. Any help is appreciated
Yeah Definitely 35%
What are good tires for a 2014 Honda Rancher
What would be the easiest to install primary or secondary?
Primary is less work. Secondary requires no special tools though
Im running 30" silverbacks s/w with no issues what so ever. Dont see a need for a gear reduction. Maybe a clutch kit
+Peyton Braun cause silverbacks suck... Their 30s are shorter than a 28 ol2 lol
question... what gear reduction should I run? lol
Mr. O-Town what bike... what tires or was this a jokr
lol it was a joke man, this video actually helped out a lot. thanks
Did you have to trim anything with a 12.5?
I got a 2016 Rubicon 500... with 30 Outbacks... fixen to get the wife a 5inch lift so whatcha think on a reduction...we are in East Texas about 15miles from Mud Creek where they have Mud Nationals every year
MudFlap 1978 I have a 5" catvos lift for sale if you are interested
MudFlap 1978 35% the 5% adds some serious weight
michael klein ...just curious..how much ya asking for it...
MudFlap 1978 2400$ it's powder coated red in very good condition rear axels upgraded to level 2 race series
What is the biggest tire you could put on a 1997 Honda fourtrax 300 without a gr I’m asking for a friend
I want a 350D now...
Get one! They're awesome bikes
N Perry stfu boi
wa u think ab 28 og outlaws

Will a honda 300 fourtrax stock gears work in a 21 honda 520 foot shift for a 15 percent foreman thank you
No
Are you still doing reduction? 35% 2018 rubicon. I have ol3s. i need it
I have a Honda FourTrax 300fw 1999, and planing to get maybe 27" mayhems, 25" zillas, or 26" mud lite xl w/ SS212 12". So is the normal gear retio good enought to spin the tires is some mud and swampy areas?
+BassHead ッ yeah
You'd be best off with some 27" zillas
skinny wide
+Mud Puppy (MudPuppy) I agree
I want to run a bigger tire no a stock rancher 350 2wheel drive what is the biggest tire I can run in sandy Florida?
I need your info man i live in va beach but can get to you forsure id like to get a 35% for my honda fourtrax 300 96
So if I wanted run 28s or 29s on my foreman, I still would have to get a gear reduction?
Depends on the tire Like if you wanted to run a 28" outlaw you don't need one but you should becuase they are like 50+ lbs
Do you have a 53% gear reduction for a 2013 Honda Forman 500 4x4?
I have a Honda rancher 420 2019 es 4x4 I have 27s right now but I want to put on 33s on it what size gear reduction should I get
60 you're also going to want a secondary and a large stretch
I got a 2016 rubicon with 28 inch terms.. huge difference in power and speed over stock. what gear reduction do you recommend ? I would prefer not to do any milling or grinding to the case... or what is the easiest/ smallest gear reduction
Kurt Summers no grinding for 15 35 or 53
Kurt Summers I'd do a 13% secondary if it were me. but requires grinding and stuff
thinking about trading my 15 outlander 650 for a 14 foreman 500 on 21's and was wondering where I could get a 27% reduction and about how much would it cost?
Joseph Simpson 27% is made by Jeremy Lee
I'm having a hard time finding a gear reduction for my 06 honda rancher trx400fa can u please help
Sell that thing. Worst Honda ATV
No one makes anything for it for good reason

Yes you need a gear reduction
Sorry for this.
What is the closest secondary gear reduction to the 35% primary. For my 86 trx350.
There is no secondary gear reduction for that machine
How many fourwheelers do you have? can am, rzr, ace, rubicon, foreman....?
Ruger260Taurus he traded the can am for a ace
could you come up with one for a 06 rancher 350
Michael Wyatt 24% and 39% are available
i have a 1987 honda fourtax 300 4x4 and i was wondering what lower gears to put on it for mud
oh well yah i didnt quite know the year but its the 1987 or 1988 one of the two
Also i want to put something like 26" tires because right now it has 23" in the front and 24" in the back thats also stock.
+HexerNexer I can get an 18 or 54 % reduction for those
Question. What do you think about the Polaris 570 sportsman? I live in Canada, own a 400 rancher, would like to purchase a DCT rubi, but the price for one could almost buy me 2 brand new 570s. dont have much first hand experience with the 570s but i hear good things
thanks for your reply man! I looked at the 570 utility edition The official site said it had lower gears. Where could i get a good gear reduction for 02 450 for 29.5 OL. Do u got anything or know where
Hey mud puppy.. looking at gear reductions on my 17 foreman.... 27" wheels..
bombidude you don’t need one for ones that small
I run 30s on mine without one and it pulls fine
When you say the newer ones are geared lower what years? Mines a 15 foreman and I was just curious.
Sabansux22 2012+
Mud Puppy Thank you
What tires would you run on a stock 2015 Honda irs rubicon 500?
+caleb johnson 30zillas
Thank you
Mud Puppy seriously 30 will fit?
Mike Bungay Hell ya they will. 31 og outlaws will fit with no rubbing. Watch Mud Puppys first vid of the 15 model Rubicon.
If you have any in stock
How much for gear reduction? I have 2011 honda rancher 420FA IRS and plan to get 27” outlaws
Jesus Colina you don’t need a reduction for 27s
2017 rubicon on 29.5 outlaws 2 mostly riding at holopaw what do you recommend for gear reduction
Rj Hennis and 35%
Just bought a 2012 Rancher 420 EPS running 295 outlaw wides. I'm considering doing a spool lock in the front since I can't find a DGL, and it's EPS. Is it worth it? I still want the bike to be fun to ride.
+Mud Bud you'll hate it
How to fix help!!!!! 2012 foreman 500 fpa Ted gear reduction gear shift not working tried shaving vs sensor 1/8 no luck, keep shaving ?why wasnt in the instructions
Sorry no idea what you're trying to say...
2012 automatic? Or footshift
Electric shift power steering. Saw a guy said shave 1/8 off of speed sensor and will work ,reading engine rpm too high electric shift went into limp mode stays in one gear after few min of riding,no instructions in the waste my money expensive kit about it at all
So yeah push button 5 gears shift manually up and down
Would be the secondary I guess ordered from highlifter gear is smaller so further away from speed sensor can ride after few min locked into whatever gear I last shifted and stays until key off reset start again or just stay in that gear
If he has a rancher sure not possible on a dct Rubi
So the DCT between the two is different? Okay that is kinda weird. Lol guess I’ll be ordering a primary for mine then.
The primary reduction for the Rancher DCT is very expressive
Okay thanks man. I’m just trying to run some 27-28 outlaw 1 skinnies. So if the 40% secondary would be enough for that, I may just to do that.
And did you mean expressive as in it makes a big difference with the DCT?
I have a rancher just to drive and have fun with in a little mud but nothing crazy but I would like to build a dedicated mud bike, which Honda would you suggest as a first dedicated mud bike?
+bryce hammer something with a front locker... Rubicon
Mud Puppy what about best power to weight? That I can put 30s on
Yea
Mud Puppy ok thanks:)
+Mud puppy would 28 outlaw 2s be too much for a 16 dct rancher 420
Peyton Greene way too much without at least a 35% reduction
Peyton Greene the dcts rancher is geared super high would need a 40%
@@MudPuppyOffroad omg I’ve been looking for this comment all night🥲 I’ve gotten my answer
I want to do a secondary and primary reduction to balance things out. Now if i wanna achieve between 30 to 35% total reduction i can combine the 12.5% secondary and a 20% primary. To make up a 32% total. Is that how it works or am i wrong. I have a 17' foreman footshift. Thanks!
The ratios don't add they multiply
So that's a 35%. Way cheaper to do just a 40% primary
Okay thank you so much for the quick reply. Tried to get that answer on the FB Page. Wanted to balance things out for the better, but if your saying just do a 40% and forget it, i should probably go that route 🤣. Thanks again, stay safe

Can we still buy a secondary of You? I'm running 35% on 171bkts 30
I just do installs
i need a 35 or 53 for 2016 installed and epi competition clutch springs. how much can you do thus for me for?
Where are you located
south carolina
You wouldn't happen to have a 34% for a 300 by chance would you
I'VE GOT AN 2018 HONDA RANCHER AND WANTING TO RUN 32-33" MOTOHAVOC TIRES, WOULD 35% GEAR REDUCTION BE GOOD ENOUGH
ITS A 420 FS 4X4
Why are you yelling at me in all caps
I'd go 52% or bigger
Didn't you put nitrous on that old 500?
Dylan Abel yup
I'm getting a 53% reduction on my 2015 rancher footshift....I'm thinking I may go with the 28 ol2....think it's a good set up?
Josh Jones gonna be slow as balls. we run 29.5s on 420s with a 35
Not sure if I would wanna put to big of tire for the sake of the drive train is the reason for 28s
Josh Jones then why do a 53 lol
Haha just rather have more than not enough I guess
When you say slow do you mean like 30mph?
I have a Honda Forman 500 fs and i want to get a kit for it but I don't know what I should do so any help would be nice

How bad was the gear reduction on the rzr to the ace 325 gears? How deep in the transmission is it?
M Walker very deep right in the middle actually
M Walker check solitude customs he has 3 or four vids of it
Will it fit 2015 Honda 420 foot shift and how much does it cost
Chandler Achord yes it will. email me at Christianthemudpuppy@gmail.com
How much was the foreman 500 lifted up front? Also what size were those wheels on the 350D?
2.5" 16s
+Mud Puppy (MudPuppy) ok do you think 3 1/4" would be too hard on the axles? On the 16's did you custom drill the bolt pattern or did they fit already?
