FK, yes, your terrain analysis is relevant to the overall picture. Two out of three ain't bad. However, the triad of Ukraine's ground forces strategy is maneuver, terrain, and weaponry. More focus weaponry, particularly new kit acquired from allies, SVP.

I really enjoyed your candid but precise details of the updates, thanks so much for this and keep up with the armadillo sightings, I keep seeing shapes in the clouds when I am drinking red wine at night so this could be a sign of our high intellect...Lol. What do you think about the war, namely, do you think Ukraine can sustain this with the pure numbers game against Russia. It reminds me so much of the German "experts" versus Russian meat waves which just depleted German forces

Yeah, the way the Russians took Bakhmut was not sustainable in terms of all the troops they lost taking it, not to mention Wagner turning on them as a result. So it makes sense that they will struggle to hold it now - they just don't have the troops to stabilise the front line everywhere in Ukraine.

Use the gear icon and choose "Playback Speed" and you can slow him down. If you don't like the default choices in 25% intervals, you can click "Options" in the upper right of that menu and adjust in 5% intervals. I've finally gotten used to his pace, but I used to use 90% or 95% speed for his earlier videos.

It's hard to maintain an advance with 50 t0 300 troop losses and two tanks and four armored p.c.'s a DAY!
Doing that kind of mass losses by RU over the last 60 days: 3000 to 18,000 troops over the bulk of Winter and 120 tanks and 240 armored p.c.'s. That's hard to sustain.
Plus UA is getting better intel on targeting, getting a lot of munitions and fuel storage as well as regional airport/military aircraft and every now and then a decent sized Corvette or Troop Landing Ship.
RU seems pretty good at punishing the civilian infrastructure, making the people suffer a lot. That didn't work well for Hitler either when he ordered Goering to attack London and stop attacking the English RAF airfields. That was Hitler's problem. He kept changing military objectives and going after symbolic targets; especially in the case of Volgograd/Stalingrad instead of Moscow.
