    10:39....you're 100% correct on people "trashing" your booth at times!! I'm blown-away at how disrespectful some people are....they just DON'T care!!! I was just at my booth this past weekend. Someone took a sizeable Fisher Price vintage jeep and pretty much destroyed it. I have to put my booth "back together" a lot....welcome to retail!!😠

    I've had a sizeable booth since 2016. I LOVE IT!!! I Gross around $800-$1,100 per month. I LOVE EBay, but the booth is "drop it off and forget it." EASY, EASY money🤑!!!

      Agree with you 100%. I might spend 5 hours a month on my booth and hit that 1K-ish gross every month.

    Very useful video! We have the same sort of thing here in the UK and the fees etc are broadly the same. It's useful to hear about something other than just the black/white figures, such as theft, relocation of items (I didn't think of that one) etc. I can see your channel steadily rising to nice heights, keep it up!

    Cool video, I enjoyed hearing your thoughts. I’m thinking about renting a showcase at a local antique mall. I sell vintage sports cards and memorabilia so I would want a locked showcase. It would be my first experience selling this way so not sure how it’s going to work out but I’m going to give it a 3 month trial.

      All the best with your sales.
      My best advice is to price items to sell.... you're not opening a museum. List a bit below eBay and other comps.

    How do I incorporate the expense of my booth space (shelving only) into my pricing of items?

    • @ThatResellerGuy
      @ThatResellerGuy  Місяць тому

      Have to price where the customer wants to buy it now from you, versus getting on eBay or Amazon.
      Your costs/expenses mean nothing to the buyer.

    Hey! I just launched my eBay store 2 weeks ago... I am realizing I have so many heavy antiques I do not want to list so I’ve been calling around looking for booth rentals. Most places around me are full.. and I found one for $275/mo plus 10% commission in a popular shopping town... is that outrageous? I am from California and know many people pay less. The booth size is 10x10... I’m nervous we will spend more on rent than we make. But we have enough items to keep a booth stocked for a few months I believe... thanks for these tips!

    • @ThatResellerGuy
      @ThatResellerGuy  4 роки тому

      I pay about $220 for an 8x10, plus 10%, so $275 doesn't sound crazy for CA. There is always a chance you won't make rent, but if you price things right and have interesting inventory, it shouldn't be an issue. You'll learn as the months go by what is and isn't selling for you and restock what does sell and remove stale inventory.
      Good luck! Let me know how it goes.

    Just happened on this video and glad I did. I have been in a mall for almost three years. Started with a curio cabinet, then a small booth, and now I have two booths (8x6) and two shelves in a locked cabinet for jewelry. My only complaint is that our store has limited hours. I am happy to be in a store that is very friendly and the vendors are willing to help each other. The owners are on site and also helpful to new vendors. I just started EBay a year ago and enjoy doing both for extra income during my retirement. QUESTION: How long do you leave items in your booth before moving them out to donate?

    • @ThatResellerGuy
      @ThatResellerGuy  4 роки тому

      Thanks for watching.
      Great question. Sometimes it just depends on how full of inventory my booth is. I like the 6 month mark as long as I'm not short on space. If I think they are good items, I'll just rotate them back in after a few months. I try to keep inventory as fresh as possible, even if it's just moving old inventory around to look different.

    The booth I had at a really nice place the nicest one in our town still had so much shoplifting that I felt like I was giving away all the stuff. It took me so long to get all that and then it would just walk right out the door. It made me very angry as the booth wasn’t cheap either I was splitting it with a friend for us to even be able to afford it. It really was not worth it I’d never do it again.

    • @ThatResellerGuy
      @ThatResellerGuy  2 роки тому

      Sorry to hear that.... unfortunately, shoplifting happens at ALL retail outlets, just some more than others.
      I have had to change the way I sell items in my booth. No more single Pokemon cards, only bulk lots in boxes. Shrink wrap just about everything possible and more.
      With malls of this size, no way the employees or cameras can pick up everything going on.

    • @ThatResellerGuy

      Unfortunately, theft is a part of retail businesses. It doesn't happen too often, but no way to stop it completely.

    I'm annoyed because I was at the Armadillo the other day and the volunteer/employee who said she had a booth there told me no license required. Do you happen to know which location is busier-Goodyear or Phoenix?

    • @ThatResellerGuy
      @ThatResellerGuy  3 роки тому

      I'm at the one in Goodyear. It is bigger, cleaner and I believe busier.
      Do they have any booths/cases available now? If not, usually after the holidays some open up.
      Talk to the manager about it, he'll have the full details.

    Hey Mike! Great info! My wife and I are going in on a 6x6 booth sometime this spring...we are on a waiting list for a booth. I have one question, how do you price your sports cards? I have a bunch of cheaper sports cards that I would like to sell but don’t know how to price them...do you put a sticker on every top loader? Any info would be great! Thanks! God Bless!

    • @ThatResellerGuy
      @ThatResellerGuy  4 роки тому +1

      I do have them all in individual top loaders and put a sticker on each one. I have $-1-$5 cards. I see some booths with cards in penny sleeves with sticker at like $0.50 ea. Good luck !

    I also live near the Brass Armadillo in Phoenix. I’m undecided whether to do it there or the one in Goodyear. I liked the one in Goodyear but I’m not sure if they get enough shoppers. I’m thinking perhaps start out at a open cabinets. Do you know if I’m able to sell vintage kitchen items and vintage home decor stuff in those are those better selling inside the booths?

    • @ThatResellerGuy
      @ThatResellerGuy  2 роки тому +1

      The Goodyear store is much bigger, nicer and cleaner. Love the staff there and is a very busy store.
      The open cabinets is a great place to start. You can sell just about anything in the spaces. They have a list of unacceptable items. Talk to the staff for more in-depth questions.

      @@ThatResellerGuy I’m going to go with my first choice which is the Goodyear location. Good to know they are busy I wasn’t really sure since I went on a weekday for the first time. what are best selling items for a flemarket booth?

    • @ThatResellerGuy
      @ThatResellerGuy  3 роки тому

      Big difference between an antique mall and a flea market.
      At Antique malls, most buyers are looking for collectibles or home decor items.
      I think flea markets can be for just about anything.
