- Due to new circumstances, changes are coming from Colin Knecht and the Woodworkweb woodworking channel which will mean, among other things a bit of a drop in the number of videos being released and a bit of a change in video topics with a bit of a leaning away from woodworking Tips, Tricks, and Jigs and closer alignment with some larger woodworking builds, and things that interest Colin more and are more closely related to building with wood than simply talking about tools, techniques and ideas and probably some travel involved for Colin, so make sure you subscribe because he may be headed for a visit in your neighborhood ...

Amen!!!! Finally someone on UA-cam within the woodworking communities that is NOT following the analytics & doing what THEY want! Videos that have meaning with how to's with builds instead of tool reviews. Thank you for your commitment over the last 15 years Colin! You're an awesome man! Great job on doing whats meaningful to you!
Hear, Hear!
Yes, I agree. It’s almost as the soul of the matter was being ripped apart…
Well said and exactly the way I feel. In my view UA-cam is trying to become more like TikTok with all their shorts and driving creators to make shorts. I believe it will destroy YT and great creators like Colin! Don't let that happen and support the creators like Colin that don't cave to the latest craze.
Glad to hear he isn't going to focus on shorts. The notifications clog up my recommendations list.
@@dougprentice1363 Agreed! I hate the stupid shorts, and if I follow someone that gets too crazy with them, I am gone!
Glad to hear this Colin. We’re reaching a similar turning point on our channel, trying to find our place in this crazy world of short-form low attention span content. But when you’re in it for the long game, you really need to do what makes you happy. So best of luck on the next leg of your journey!
Hi Marc, thanks for the note ... we are on the same wave length with the shorts, I'm not going to chase them, as you say "do what makes you happy", I have been a long time follower of your enterprise, keep up the good works, maybe we will get a chance to meet in person one of these days ...
Colin, you are a star! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge over all these years. I am 72 next month and took up woodwork about 5 years ago. I searched on UA-cam for advice and you became my number one source to go to and it has been wonderful to get such expertise. If your travels take you to France you are welcome to stay at my gîte as a guest - it is a small way to repay you for all the help you have given me. I look forward to your build videos. In the meantime I hope you enjoy whatevernis round the corner. Very best wishes Annie Templeton
Glad to help out
Woodworking for 12 years now and you were one of the first channels that went into my "subscribed" folder! Looking forward to the future, Colin!
Colin - I’ve learned so much from you over the years and look forward to learning more in the future. Cheers on the next evolution of the channel.
I was fearing that you'd go the paid route for the complete builds series, like a few have done and that's fine, but I'm happy to hear you are keeping that free. Thank you so much for all you've done so far and into the future. I can't wait to see the new builds coming up.
With as much as I have learned from your tips and jigs videos over the years, I am confident your build videos will be awesome!
Colin, thank you for the 15 years you have shared in the past. I look forward to seeing your new larger projects and wish you well on your travels.
Good for you! Countless people have benefitted from your generously shared skills. Those videos are a great source of research for me. I only took up woodworking when I had to retire due to ill health and it's been an uplifting journey. Hope you finally find time for yourself and if ever you're in England, get in touch. I'm in a little village near Stafford in the Midlands. You'll have no trouble finding great hospitality here. Thanks for all that you do.
We're with you, Colin. No need to pound out new videos every few minutes! Whatever you're making I want to see it-whenever you're able to show it to us. And looking forward to (perhaps) seeing you in person down here in New Hampshire at some point.
Sounds great, I am really interested in seeing builds. Fantastic news Colin and keep up the good work
Colin, you are a lovely, generous individual. I'd like to thank you for the year's of tutorials that you have shared, and the invaluable advice you have passed on to humble carpenters like myself. I'm very far away, in Scotland, but have enjoyed your content immensely, and look forward to your continued contribution to the woodworking community. I am, BTW, very happy to hear you are still in rude health and not planning on disappearing real soon. A very big thank you from Glasgow!
15 years is an eternity on the Internet. I appreciate all of the videos you've posted, and learned a lot.
You were one of the first channels I subscribed to. Glad to see I'm not the only one bending over backwards for the algarythm. I've slowed down since my daughter was born to prioritize family and my channel has "suffered" since then. Totally worth it. Enjoy life, my friend that I've never met. Prioritize you and those around you. Everything else will fall in place.
Thanks Jay for the comment .. have been following your channel for many years, enjoy what you do, maybe we will get chance to meet up in the future, I would enjoy that.
Have to say I hate "Shorts" to the point that I have an add-on in my browser that suppresses them! Keep up the great content and enjoy travelling.
Please I know I would like toe see bigger projects unfortunately I'm based in south africa and won't be able to see you in person. Thanks for all you have taught us via UA-cam
I have only been a vewer for a short time, but at 83 years old, I have enjoyed every episode you have inspired me to go back to making things thank you regards Malcolm New South Wales Australia
Thanks for filling your viewer community in on your planned changes, Collin. I’m glad to see you are following your desires in this and wish you all the best as you step into your new direction. I’ve learned many things from watching your videos that have helped me in my woodworking projects and am looking forward to watching your builds. Have fun out there as you travel more!
Colin - I rarely if every add comments to videos but felt compelled to show my appreciation for your channel and to add to the majority of the comments with my full support (like that matters lol) and happiness that you have decided to follow your own path and do what brings you happiness! Best of luck and a big THANK YOU to you - I look forward to continuing to follow you on your journey!
Thank you for all of the great videos, Colin!! We will stay tuned for your new projects. 👍😊
Congratulations on your 90 million plus views over your 15-year reign. It has been a great journey for you and also for us who have followed you throughout the years. I look forward to seeing your new format, making projects, and coming along for the ride.
Thank you, Colin! A huge thank you and congratulations for all your hard work! Enjoy more time outside the shop and we’ll all look forward to more of your great work!
Yes dear Colin we love you and we appreciate all your hard work do what you want we will follow you anywhere God bless❤❤
Congrats Colin. 95M. Wow. Enjoyed the years watching you videos,
Brilliant! I’ve become disillusioned by the trend of tool reviews that has been apparent in the last year or so. Back to some real builds. THANK YOU Colin. I’m certain you’ll get even more followers if others in the woodworking community feel like I do. All the best.
Thank you, Collin, for all the years of helping us learn how to improve our skills in woodworking. You are one of the best. Happy Trails and God bless you.
Congrats Colin! As a long time viewer, I have learned a lot from your tips & tricks videos. Glad to see you taking more time for yourself. Looking forward to those build videos. If you are ever in my neck of the woods, CT, I would definitely like to get together with you and talk shop! Be well & enjoy your travels Colin! 👍👍
I always loved your quick videos but I'm super excited to see what you end up doing! I'm setting up my first shop after years of working out of my parents garage and I'm going to go back and watch a bunch of your older videos
I'm excited for you and to see what this new chapter brings! Thank you for everything! I will be watching!
I’m guessing that a YT channel for most uploaders is not a big earner. So, I’m very grateful to those who do produce some excellent videos and do it for their enjoyment and, maybe, cover their costs.
I’ve been woodworking for over 45 years. You can imagine the changes that I’ve seen in woodworking - the biggest perhaps is YT which came along, for me, in the last few years. It’s enabled me to see different ways of doing things and has been a wonderful free school.
I don’t mind people uploading tool reviews. I see the uploaded and judge that person’s credibility with me. I then look at the thumbnail and decide whether it’s a tool that I would ever want.
I do prefer watching long builds particularly when people give great narration about why they make the choices they are - stuff like why I chose this timber rather than that; why I chose this kind of joint rather than that. Those videos are the stuff that I personally really learn from.
Thank you for what you have done to date. I look forward to continuing to watch your content
I'm so happy for you! I know you've been concentrating on what you felt was the best way to go, but I'd love to see your longer projects, and your travels! We learn everywhere from so many people!
I'm looking forward to your next iteration, your growth, your teaching in what you learn from others. That's very exciting! I'm with you!
Safe travels and peace, love and joy in what you learn and what you teach!
Your welcome in Waupaca Wisconsin. Really have enjoyed your down to earth approach. Thanks Colin!
Colin I have been watching your videos for about 5 years and I can't wait to see your builds, keep up the great work and I'll keep watching and learning, thanks for everything
A big thank you from the UK for all your videos, tips and the effort you put in when showing us
Thank you, Colin for the past 15 years. I look forward to your build videos, and am happy for you that you are able do what means the most to you!
I just joined your site about 2 years ago. You are one of my favorites. I am glad you are considering g other options that will not restrain your time. Good luck, and look forward to hearing how we can continue to stay with you!!
Thanks for all of the tips, tricks, and jigs. Now it’s your turn to take some trips and build what you want. Will miss the regularity of seeing you but looking forward to seeing you and your work in the future.
Very happy to watch longer build videos, seeing different techniques put into practise.
Wherever you go , whatever you do , I'll follow you Colin!
Good luck on your new pursuits. Been enjoying your channel for the majority of those 15 years on UA-cam. I look forward to seeing your projects when you get posted. Thank you Colin. Enjoy!
I've really enjoyed watching your helpful and informative videos over the years. Even though I've been a woodworker for 66 years, I still mange to learn. After working a very demanding career for 45 years, for the past 10 years I've had time to build projects I put off for years, so I can understand your desired change.
I get tired of seeing UA-camrs with big spotless shops that have every tool imaginable but never really build any large projects. I will most certainly stay subscribed to you channel to see what you design and build! Good luck and enjoy your new direction.
You're 'THE MAN' Colin. It is so refreshing to see that there are still a few real men out there who know what they want, know what it right / good / meaningful / useful, and are not afraid to voice their opinion and stand up strong / firm for their beliefs and principles. More power to you Colin. This fellow Canadian has learned a lot from you over the years, and I will continue to watch and support you, in whatever direction you take the WoodWorkWeb. May you have continued good health and be safe in whatever travels you may do.
Colin, thanks for sharing so much over so many years. You have every right to pursue larger build projects and to travel more. I will look forward to future notifications!
Hello Colin! I’m a long term viewer and subscriber. Thank you for all your great content and I’m looking forward to your next chapter! Glad you are taking opportunities to enjoy life. Best regards, John
I don't care for the Shorts myself. Short on context. Short on content. I look forward to you build videos. Thanks.
Colin, all the very best for the future adventures you're about to set forth. I look forward to your new, fewer, longer, construction videos when you're ready to release them. I know they will still be full of ideas, tips and tricks.. Please keep doing what you do. You make a difference.
I’m excited and looking forward to seeing build videos from you Colin. It will be a refreshing change from you. I only watch YT for build videos and I really only make build videos and don’t stress about the trends.
Hi Colin, I had the pleasure if meeting you at the Atlanta woodworking show several years ago. Congratulations on such a long career on youtube, you're doing great. I'm hoping we can get you in front of our guild here in Atlanta some time in the future.
when i got into woodworking 5 years ago, your channel was one of three woodworking channels that i watched all the time. Mathias Wandel and John Heiz were the other two. I eventually got to build my first electric guitar from scratch. Your tips and tricks helped me a lot. So, thank you and keep up the good work!
I think it would be great if you made a video while you were at those events you plan on going to. I would love to see one at other cities woodworking events.
Congratulations on the views and years. You are a joy and inspiration to watch. Always teaching us how to do better and work easier. 🎉
Looking forward to more of your wonderful tips, tricks and builds in the future. Safe travels and thank you Colin!
First of all, I'm glad to hear you're happy and healthy. I don't care much for the shorter video's UA-cam wants you to do and not much can be gained by watching those. I've enjoyed your videos with great explaining about what you're doing
and take your ideas to my shop. Good luck on your new adventures and also on your YT channel.
The best way to learn is watching your videos and than practice on own projects with the learned skills from your videos. Greetings from Germany 👍😉
Thank you for taking the time of putting these videos together, they have helped me and others considerably in our respective shops!!!
I look forward to your build videos as I think they will be great. Happy to hear you are going to take some time and get out more often. I appreciate all you do
Colin, you have given us enough tips and tricks for many lifetimes. I look forward to seeing your builds and adventures!
I' been watching your videos for the last year, since I started doing some woodworking for fun after retirement.
I' ve learned a lot with you.
Congratulations and have fun.
👏👏👏 from Brazil
I know you hear/read this all the time but I will still add my two cents in . . . thank you so much for distilling your knowledge into these videos. I got into woodworking at the beginning of the pandemic. Semi-retired and could not do my normal volunteering at Habitat construction builds. This activity enriches my life tenfold and opens my mind to so many new possibilities and things I never knew I was capable of doing! Your videos have been instrumental in giving me new ideas, opening my mind to different methods and just helping me learn! I am so grateful to you, Colin, and wish you all the best. Looking forward to seeing if I can tackle some larger projects too!
You have my support! I have definitely found myself going down the “shorts” rabbit hole a time or two. With the decreased attention spans of people, I understand the inclination to lean this way. However, that is not what I personally come to channels like this for. I love the nuanced detail, explanations, and watching the learning process. I glad to see a UA-camr sticking with. Cant speak to the analytics of views, but I am fairly certain the viewers you retain will be far more loyal. Looking forward to it!
You had me worried, thankfully everything is good. Looking forward to see the builds and how your trips. Enjoy and I want to thank you for all of your content and future content. Take Care.
Colin, you are a gentleman ! and I am really looking forward to your new venture and adventures.
Thank you for all your advice and tips, they have been invaluable to me. I love your gentle manner
and the detailed way you produce all your videos.
Good Luck Colin from the UK.
Right on. Keep the videos coming. I just finished building a solid oak bench for our entryway... love your channel and looking forward to some of your build videos!
Very good luck in your change of direction. Well done for not bowing to the UA-cam gods and producing what they perceive as ‘in vogue’ trends. Producing videos that are going to be very informative, friendly and instructive sounds great. More power to your chisel!
Been a fan of yours over the past eight years, you helped get into woodworking. You helped in choosing the right table saw, your tips and tricks. Go see the world Colin it’s your time now! I can’t speak for your entire audience but I know I’ll continue to watch, ask questions and be here when your hear. Blessings and goodwill to you!
Much more exciting to build things! Can't wait to see what you get up to!
Good luck on your new way, Colin! I am looking forward to see what build projects you’re going to come up with.
You can count on this viewer to be with you as you evolve your channel! When you are my area you can count on the “Fellas” to be with you. Keep doing what you do, it’s going to happen for you. ❤
Colin, you was the first person I ever subscribed to many years ago. Good luck with everything you want to do. God bless from the UK
I have learned so much from you over the years and I'm excited to see your transition into a new format. Thank you so much Colin.
Im a 50+ ADD guy and even I find youtube shorts too short! :) Ive been watching at least yen years. I live in oz but am BC born and that makes your videos a little slice of home.
I'm ready for the next phase! Thank you for your 15 years.
Colin I seldom comment on channels, but you do what makes you happy. And thanks again.
Glad i got to meet you in person a few years ago at the woodworking show in Atlanta. Keep up the great videos👍🏻
Thanks Colin. I would like to invite you to visit Rocky Mountain High School in Fort Collins Colorado. I am the woodworking teacher at Rocky. I sometimes show your videos to my students and I know that some of them have found your UA-cam channel on their own. If you are going to be in our area at any time next school year give me a shout and we will set something up. I wish you Happy travels and success on your bigger projects!
Collin, a big thank you. You are a great mentor.
Wish you all the best on the next chapter in your life, more specifically, building stuff. Way to go, Colin!!
The best of luck in all your directions and God bless
During the years I watched your videos with so much pleasure. Most of the time learning new things.
And yes if you are in our area (The Netherlands) I'd like to meet somewhere.
How's she goin'? Congrats and good for you. I enjoy your channel and the tips and tricks you have shown over the years. I am also looking forward to seeing your projects come to life. Enjoy my friend!! Take 'er easy!!
Thanks Colin Really looking forward to more projects from you. Love your way of teaching.
I discovered you and your channel early in the pandemic when I took up woodworking. Your videos and tips & tricks are great! Thanks for all the quality content and looking forward to your build videos.
So much respect for you and your contributions!
I would love to see some build videos. I have been subscribed to your channel for quite a few years now and have enjoyed your videos. I have picked up quite a bit since I came across your channel and all of the great tips, I do, and tricks that you share. It would be great to see you if you should ever get up towards Vermont way.
I'm pleased to hear that you'll be working on build videos... and if ever you're in the Ottawa, Ont. area (I do believe you're on the west coast), it would be great if you announced it!!
YEA! Yea! Yea!. The "Shorts" I don't care much for most (from anyone). I am glad for the Tips & Trick videos, but will be super glad for the longer format build videos. This is a WIN WIN WIN message for me and I hope for you too. Thanks!
Thank you sir for the many years you have supported and informed us all.
Been watching your channel for at lease the past 10 years. Everything you put out there has helped me to improve my woodworking skills in some way or another. You would be most welcome to visit and participate in an event or two with our woodworking group in the future. I'm sure that whatever you come up with, it will be most welcome within the woodworking community.
Thank you for all your fantastic videos. 😊 I have been enjoying your content for years and you don't need to change a thing.
Just keep doing what you do best because that's what we love.
Cheers from Down Under 🇦🇺
James 😁
All the best Colin and I will continue to watch and learn from you - I too think you were one of the first channels i subscribed too - wow 15 years !!!
Keep the great work going - THANKYOU SO MUCH
Good luck with everything. Hopefully you can come to the UK sometime.
Nice!-- Been waiting for a few years for you to get back to the builds.
Started watching you about 9 years ago, and I think it's been 4 or 5 years since I've seen 1 of your bigger build videos
Colin. Good for you. Get out there and travel. Enjoy!
I'm a new subscriber and like your content and I look at older vids to get tips and how to. Thanks Colin, great content.
I find this to be exciting news about the new direction of the channel! Enjoy yourself and we look forward to seeing your newer videos.
Thank You. You have been a big help to me. Show "how to" in a formate that works so well, making it easier to learn.
I always enjoy your videos! You need to enjoy some travel and being with family.
Way to go Colin, I will help support you no matter what you do. Keep up the great work . From a lifetime woodworker. Jim
Hooray! Projects!! I love the tips as well but am really looking forward to your projects. You need to have fun too!
Good luck with your new direction Colin, I will certainly be watching with great interest.
Perfect. Awesome! I was worried… first health-wise secondly, maybe a different change in the channel, but for me this will work great. I’m already subscribed, but have slowed down in watching newly released videos that I’m subscribed to. We have the tools, jigs, tips, and tricks that we can always refer back to; and I can’t wait to see what you have in store for builds. Sounds like a win/win.
