    Do NOT remove the upper dash grill like it’s done in this vid !!! This will break the two front clips as they are maintained with screws. Remove the vents first and unscrew the 2 front clips.

      How do you get all the cables in out of the way and fit the stereo in? Since my hand can not reach behind the stereo after its in its space, i cannot seem to remove the cables from the way. They get stuck between the back of the stereo and the wall of the stereo space (case) and the stereo does not go in all the way. The front face of the radio is always 1 cm front of the air condition and the other dash board controls.

    In addition, if you want to keep your fader controls, don’t use the MOST adapter that comes with the unit as it’s only 2 channels (you will only be able to adjust your balance). I ordered a Trioma MOST-RCA interface 3.0 (Russian). It has 6 channels (4 are sufficient).

      I looked into the Trioma MOST-RCA adapter. It seems to convert the digital signal in the MOST fiber to six channel RCA audio. It is designed for using factory headunit with aftermarket amplifiers. However what we need is to convert the analog RCA to MOST digital signal. Did I miss anything?

    I'm interested in learning more about this install. I've tried the NAV-TV and Enfig modules. Enfig is more capable than the NAV-TV. However, it's buggy, not intuitive, and frustrating to use. I've been looking at the Seicane system for some time. It seems to have more modern features. However, there's a lot of add-ons to buy to get it working correctly.
    How do you like your system? Does it work well? Is it buggy? Are there things you can't do that you thought you'd be able to do? Any insight would be helpful --- daily usage/functionality, phone connectivity, microphone quality, Bluetooth capabilities, etc. would be great.

    • @UltF1
      @UltF1  5 років тому +1

      Sometimes (maybe 20% of the time) the bluetooth won't connect and I have to turn the car off and back on. Bluetooth sound quality is excellent; microphone quality is good; functionality is good; Google maps works well when I use a hotspot; I like that the steering wheel buttons all work. I haven't played with it as much as I want because I travel a lot for work. The only add-ons I needed were CANBUS (included) and MOST (extra $75). I'm sorry but I don't know anything about Enfig nor NAV-TV.

    Was wondering if you had a chance to complete the second part. I also followed the rennlist videos but you mentioned you had a set back related to the back up camera pop up. Did you manage to get it fixed.
    Also I wanted to check if any of the following things are working for you.
    1) compass
    2) stereo surround with original bose amp
    3) dash display for music/radio info
    4) original TPMS
    Would love to hear from you. I have the head unit with me, just couldn't find a confirmed information regarding the points I highlighted above.

Let me know if you can't find what you need and have further questions on the install. I suggest reading all comments on this vid because I made a mistake and some people broke the screw holes on their top AC vent where I mounted the GPS. I can confirm that the factory compass won't work. The others I'm not certain sorry but the speakers sound good with original Bose amp! My 06 doesn't give dash display but I'm not sure if 2nd generation (2008-2010) did.

      Hi again, Was just about to start my installation and I noticed that my PCM looks so much different than the majority of the posts on renlist.
      My pcm 3.0 looks like this.
      drive.google.com/file/d/17dV5TxubQQ9jF-Z6nVG0UBz1ccsDIXca/view?usp=drivesdk
      Main concern I have are the antenna connectors now. From the image, I suppose the black and the blue one are for GPS and radio.
      But what is the yellow one on the right? That doesn't look like a fakra. Could it be for the Aux, ipod and USB connection under the arm rest?
      Also regarding the camera Blue wire from the factory harness, I basically see Two blue wires. Like in the picture below.
      drive.google.com/file/d/17eZL8c5EBAxhvkB6uzr46mFNgPJFwwCE/view?usp=drivesdk
      Any idea which one would that be?

I have been procrastinating on part 2 sorry everyone. I blew one unit and wanted to troubleshoot before giving wrong info that could hurt anyone else's setup. Got it sorted now. Hopefully I'll get to it this week. Might be 3 parts in total.

      The first Cayenne I did factory backup camera using relay and it worked 3 times then stopped. Turns out a diode in the CANbus decoder melted. Not sure but I think from mistakes I made before getting logic correct. I know now that logic in post #618 is 100% correct. 2nd Cayenne I did works great. I replaced CANbus decoder in 1st Cayenne and it works fine now too.

    • @UltF1
      @UltF1  5 років тому

      I wrote it more clearly here. SPDT theory of operation: The relay operates (switch changes position) when there is 12V across the coil. Without the 12V on the coil, contacts 87a and 30 are connected to each other. When 12V is applied to coil, it is contacts 87 and 30 that are connected.
      SPDT wiring instructions:
      86 RELAY COIL IN spliced to the orange REVERSE IN wire on the android power harness.
      85 RELAY COIL OUT and contact 30 spliced to each other and ground.
      The factory camera motor operates to pop out the camera when the blue wire on the porsche factory power harness is grounded.
      Blue wire on Porsche factory harness connects to 87 contact.
      Nothing connects to 87a contact.

      @@xpswgg Yes, someone wrote on Rennlist: "The reverse signal isn't 12V in the traditional sense. It's just a signal on the canbus from the transmission module. The canbus adapter reads the canbus signal looking for a reverse signal and then switches an independent 12V supply when it sees it. This 12V supply is wired to the head unit and causes the display switch. This same 12V supply is used to simultaneously supply the camera and switch the display."

      Thank you so much for your reply and the videos.. Everything is perfect now. Except I don't have sound. I order a optical fiber loop to by-pass the cd changer. Do you had that problem too?

      @@m4rcolm no sound makes me think the MOST is wired incorrectly; maybe not properly grounded. The fiber loop is only needed if you remove the CD changer from the circuit.

      It is also possible your MOST decoder is bad but that wouldn't be my immediate conclusion. I think re-watch the videos and carefully trace your connections again. Happy to help however I can.

    Why you turn volume to maximum.

    • @UltF1
      @UltF1  5 років тому

      Good question! No good answers here, unfortunately. It's just what I observed in reading hundreds of posts over dozens of threads. Some people had issues of volume being low with new head unit and reattaching the old one and cranking it up anecdotally yielded superior results. Not a scientific study, but it has been acknowledged by several that paved the way for this Cayenne technological revolution.

      @@alhamedi66 I'm going to try a different radio antenna this weekend because the first one I installed was garbage and I'll report back. I recorded and mostly edited part 2 but never completed it... but there's a couple good followup video clips I posted in another comment on this video. Let me know if you have any additional specific questions and I will do my best.

My car 2008 porsche cayenne s ' I find android unit 10.1" with 2 gb ram and 32 gb $630 no need any frame but required Amplifier adapter cost $160 if my car have optical amplifier and I'm not sure if I need this adapter or not. @@alhamedi66 Look at 1:29 in the video when I grab the orange wires and say MOST. If you pull out your head unit and have that, then you need the fiber optic adapter. You can also look at the purchase sticker if you have it to see if it says "Bose" audio or maybe some speaker grills will say "Bose". Those prices sound very expensive usually the head unit is ~$350 USD and adapter is ~$100
