what's fustrating is, i have a benchmark tmr. and i cannot even remember when the hell we learned this. we've been learning substition and elimination but i didn't have to solve equations where i had to reorder them myself 3y=2x+20
4x+8y=48. and im so confused how to solve them

@@angie9626 Yes OFC, First make 1) make X the subject with the second equation: X= 48-8y/4
2) Substitute X in 3y = 2x+20 so it should be 3y = 2(48-8y/4) + 20
3) Solve it and you should get 3y = 24-4y + 20
4) put all the Y on one side so it should be 3y+4y = 24 +20
5) Make Y the subject and it should look like this: y = 44/7
6) y = 6.3
7) now with substitute y in the first equation to find X: 3(6.3) = 2x +20
8) make X the subject and it should look like: x= 20-18.9/2
9) x = 0.6 or -0.6
