This is especially true for one like India that has ambitions of being a global player even as it remains embattled in its own neighbourhood. The Unending Game tackles these questions while providing a national and international perspective on gathering external intelligence, its relevance in securing and advancing national interests, and why intelligence is the first playground in the game of nations.
Vikram Sood is Advisor at Observer Research Foundation. He was a career intelligence officer for 31 years and retired in 2003 after heading India’s external intelligence service, the Research and Analysis Wing.
The book was launched by Smt. Smriti Irani, Union Cabinet Minister of Textiles, Government of India.

Just ordered this book on Amazon! This book takes a long time to ship in the US though.
Kanwal Sibal has always been a top favourite of mine. Have ordered the book while watching this. Looks like Sood might be a contender soon. One thing that i love about these 3 is the gravitas. Savour it. Makes me want to consider a job in the services. So delicious.

Penguin has done a good job in generating publicity for their book.
Gone are the days of the legendary Kao and his”Kaoboys”. I believe RAW officials and others of their ilk engaged in undercover operations should be circumspect in both their public appearances and their speeches. They need to stay in the shadows and after retirement should , like good soldiers, just fade away.
Experiences and insights gained by them over the span of their careers should perhaps be passed on to others of their community and not used in the service of their egos. For example , brilliant as Mr Doval no doubt is, his public pronouncements on “offensive defense” vis a vis Pakistan have provided a useful propaganda tool to them against India. Loose lips do indeed sink ships.

A suggestion worth Trillions for RA&W
Make your selection based on talent , eradiacte the reservation BS in all services, as we all know how well it's portrayed all over the over, some people are shameless and racist, for those, who are not, it becomes difficult world for some minds and clearly can be seen from the blind folded legal system, illiterate ministers, appointed pons and bullies, therefore change in recruiting process is a must, take a sneak peak at other intelligence authoritys recruitment around the world for example, recruit directly from clColleges, Universities, even unemployed youth who are not unemployment because they are worth to do nothing, maybe just they don't want to be part of "trash mentality workplace" and I mean it because I have experienced the world in a large spectrum too, need not be judged based on boundaries of framework or authority.
India's intelligence recruitment need to be changed, including CBI, IB, DIA , ATS, NSG,Police etc ( citizens of India may have already seen how many rottens mangoes are inside the system, which infect others with their mental disease, history speaks )- Psychometric tests( not algebra BS, the UPSC exams, papers leaks) and many other technics, the worthy must be given opportunity not reservation worthy. A small example ai would like to give to the citizens of India as how intelligence can be synced, In Canada, I have seen a program called "Block Watch" even old uncle and aunty are paid by government to be society police and they are given lot of privalages to be secure and safe, we have more than million eyes, it's important to select the right one.
India need a mindshift 🇮🇳🙏🏼
