Hey Lisa - I commented this before on a previous video but i was a few days late so I figured I’d post it again on your new vid to try and get it actually seen haha. I love your videos and have a video suggestion: a week in the life of your sourdough starter. Your instructional videos are awesome and I've watched them all but it would be so fun to see how you actually use it and feed it in a real normal week. It'd also give some interesting insight into how frequently you are having to replenish breads in a standard week with your family size. So when you take move it in/out of the fridge, when you prep, when feed, how much you feed, what you make and how frequently.
Egg peeling tip from my local farmer where I get my eggs from- let them sit out on the counter for 20-30 minutes or so till they sweat and the shell will peel right off!
I love the tips you give us weekly! I struggle with making hard boiled eggs...silly as it sounds! 🤦🏻♀️ Sounds like another reason for purchasing an Instant Pot! I devour sweet potato fries and never heard of using cornstarch to add crunch! I make a similar one pot meal by frying up six slices of bacon, laying them aside, adding onions, carrots, celery, potatoes, broccoli or cabbage; cook until tender. Add sliced sausage and crumble the bacon on top and heat the sausage through. I serve mine with cornbread. A great one pot meal for cool spring evenings (here in western NC we’ve had two nights of 27* weather ❄️) I enjoy when you show us your eggs, so many colors! Thank you again for spending Saturday morning with me! 🥰🙌🏻💕👍🏻💗
Lisa! I just tried my first batch of sourdough English muffins and they turned out perfect!! Thank you so much. My starter is a few months old and I am having a lot of fun.
I just *love* Thrive Market. It really makes healthier options more accessible to lower income folks like my family and I. It might sound cheesy, but I'm super grateful to them.
I just love watching your cooking videos! You cook like I do,all the home cooked meals, well I don’t cook as much as I used to, but when I do it’s so much better than eating out! You are such a great mom! I’m sure your kids will all grow up remembering how you fixed them good home cooked meals God bless! 💐💐
Another great week of meals! I discovered how you always make these meals look so easy; it’s practice! I mean, I know you’re a great cook who enjoys the craft but you said you made the sub rolls like a hundred times until you got them right...that’s practice. Thanks for sharing your skills and recipes!
I love watching these in the morning. Cause they do inspire me. Half way thru i paused, went downstairs and grabbed a tube of sausage meat out of the freezer and will make biscuits and gravy and salad for supper. Great video, i always enjoy these
More wonderful ideas! I love skillet meals also. I’ve made the smoked sausage with cabbage o tans bacon. Then one time I cooked some of the smoked sausage with onion and then opened up a jar of potatoes I had canned and also a jar of green beans. Made a very quick meal.
You can defrost ground beef very fast if put in hot tap water. Any meat except maybe a roast can be defrosted in hot water relatively quickly. (Chicken pieces, ground anything, chopped stew meat, etc.)
Also a great new idea to make the red cabbage this way. In my country we only eat it in the winter . Then it's cooked for hours with onions , apples and spices like cloves and cinnamon ( mulled wine spices) and a spoonful of red current jelly. I love your videos !
A good tip for the crispiest sweet potato fries is to soak it in super cold water for about 10-20 minutes. It pulls all the extra starches and it’s sooo crispy! My fiancé loves when I do it like that.
Do you have a Vegetable garden your planting , I like to see all what your doing?? I changed my garden this year and turned it into a Potager garden love it and so easy to manage. And it’s pretty too.
Meal rut is so my situation right now. Great recipes, as always. I miss our chickens just for the reason of always having lots of eggs... But today was our egg run to a sweet friend of my daughters. So I am looking forward to a few of your recipes to try. Thanks again for making my tummy growl and putting a smile on my face. Hugs to the kiddos. ❤️Leslie
Your sourdough recipes are in constant use here now. Bread is cooling on the counter, tonight will be leftover roast chicken and veg sourdough skillet then I'll start the sourdough English muffins for tomorrow, by then I'll give my kids a treat by starting the cinnamon rolls and meal after meal is an absolute winner . I'm finally nailing great sourdough that has eluded me for years. Thank you xxoo
Lisa, Can you share where you found your oil and vinegar bottles next to your stove? I’ve been looking for some opaque bottles for my olive oil, which deteriorates in sunlight, but most bootlegs I find are clear. Thank you for your videos, they are a constant source of inspiration!
Could you please tell me where you got your beautiful henley shirts from? So far I’ve seen you wear a green and a pink one, and I love them both! Thanks in advance!
Love all the recipes you showed today! You must be really strong, because you lift those iron skillets like they're a feather! Love your videos! Always look forward to them! See you next time!
We love purple sweet potatoes, but they are so expensive now. I have not made salmon patties in a long time. Some days peeling eggs perfectly is a hit or miss.
All the recipes look amazing!!! Especially the salmon and chicken! Would you please consider doing a video on taking care of, cooking, and just all about Cast Iron Skillets? I have a new one and have only used in twice. Thanks so much!
Love the recipes as always, Lisa! I make the crispiest fries & use baking powder instead of cornstarch. I think it's WAY better because cornstarch can taste grainy as its meant to be mixed with liquid
Made the skillet dinner with the eggs on top last night...eggcellent meal! So filling and delicious...and as you mentioned helped use up the multitude of Spring eggs 🥚
I just fixed Salmon Patties a few days ago. We love them! I also get weirded-out by the little bones so I take most of them out as well. LOL It's an easy meat choice and the cans are good for a very long time.
Aw Lisa you read my mind😋😋!!! I’ve been waiting for a meal video and you didn’t disappoint... All those meals look sooo good but the steak sandwiches with cheese and fresh hoagie rolls- to die for!!!! I’ll probably watch this video a dozen times!!!! Thanks for all the delicious food videos I LOVE THEM!!! They make me feel all warm and comfy inside... And you’re such a sweetheart... The last few videos you have been looking so pretty ☺️☺️!!! Have a great weekend
I totally want to be ur friend🤣! I do pretty much everything u do with respect to food and I love ur creations and ideas that I don’t have! I love all ur food and fermenting videos and ur farmhouse decor is adorable! Ur great…thank u!
Cup of coffee in hand☕️ while I relax this morning watching your video 🤍✨👏🏻 Fixing to tackle the carpet stripping tacks in my bedroom , so I can paint my floor in there 😅💪🏻😂 always love your videos, Lisa🥰
Great recipes. We get are eggs from a local farmer. So been using a bunch lately too. I wish we had thrive here in Canada 🇨🇦😔 Look's like a great company. 👍
Jus made the Creamy Chicken. Oh my goodness was it yummy! I made it for 3 of us. I can only imagine the clean up you have with all your kiddos. I’m sure they’re good helpers in the kitchen :)
Recipes are always welcome. I'll have to check into Thrive Market. I am always fearful that you get little amounts for much money from these purveyors. I haven't used canned salmon in ages and it will be so good for these. Thanks for reminding me of its usage. Love your combinations.
Perfect video as always!! Everything looks delicious!! You're so lucky your kiddos aren't picky eaters! My daughter refuses to try anything besides noodles and chicken breast! Thank you for another awesome video!!
Lisa, I want you to know that you are such an inspiration! I keep up with your videos and have started making more homemade food for my family using whole ingredients. I also started my sourdough starter back in February and it's going strong! Thanks for what you do. You make a difference in women's lives ❤
Loved your gingham Peasant Top 😍 guessing you made it! Making one with your tutorial as soon as I can grab some elastic from the store! Also, I always appreciate your cheese portion sizes 🤭😍🤤
Lisa, watching your cooking always makes me hungry - everything looks so delicious ! I recently tried my first sourdough starter because everything you make with that looks so interesting but my starter died on day 4. Maybe I used the wrong flour ( I'm not sure the flour I use here in Germany is right. I always use Dinkelflour. Dinkel is some old kind of wheat with less gluten and it's more nutrient . Anyway I got a bit discouraged by that experience .
Did you grow up eating this healthy? I just ask because I grew up eating very unhealthy and now I am a very picky eater and find it hard to like very many things. I want my children to eat healthier things, but I honestly don't know where to start because we all eat pretty unhealthy right now and they have already learned to be picky also. 😞 Do your children really like all of these foods? I also was not really taught on how to cook growing up and now I'm always scared that I won't cook something right and cause everyone to get sick. I just find you so inspirational on how you are raising your family! You are such a good Mama!
I love all of the meal ideas I get when I come here! I'm wondering how you finished off the sweet potato fries. Did you do them in hot oil in a skillet?
I’ve tried making the English muffins multiple times now. My batter is always thinner than yours. Also, the muffins never get as thick. I follow the recipe to a T. Not sure what I’m doing wrong.
Love your videos Thank you , you are an inspiration and I learn so much from you ...I am 64 years old lol. I pray that God continues to Bless you and your family and that whatever you touch prospers 💕

She has a podcast episode exactly like this, but a video of it would be interesting too.
She has a video of two weeks in the life of her starter 😊 it’s older but I know this because I referenced it many times when I started sourdough

Hi Lisa, I admire your strength in cooking all these meals daily. I'm exhausted just by day three. 😄 I love your videos.
I just love watching your cooking videos!

We love your salmon patties with arugula salad, homemade ranch dressing and avocado. Delish!
Also: creamed peas is special on salmon patties. I always made enough for extra to eat cold next day.

Totally agree about steaming eggs. I do them in a regular pot with just a half inch of water and they peel perfectly every time!
You make everyone look so effortless 🤗

These meal videos are so inspiring! I love that you eat whole and healthy meals
Steaming eggs??? That is revolutionary! You totally blew my mind. I have never heard this before but it makes perfect sense.
I hated peeling eggs until I discovered steaming. Works everytime.
I learned this trick from America's test kitchen! They explain why it works too

I had sweet potato fries and burgers mind for a dinner next week so I’ll have to try the corn starch trick. Thanks Lisa!
I purchased some wood eggs from Amazon and I put them in my chickens nesting boxes and they laid all winter!
Tina, don't chickens need a rest? A break from laying? I thought that was important. Idk. ?
If you start a sourdough starter how long before you can actually use it to bake something? Love your channel!
Could you please tell me where you got your beautiful henley shirts from? So far I’ve seen you wear a green and a pink one, and I love them both! Thanks in advance!
I loved Lisa's black and white chequered shirt too - maybe a wardrobe update please?:) The food looks amazing too!

An easy way to coat the french fries is put them and the cornstarch in a gallon ziploc bag and shake. 😁

I can’t be the only that is crushing on that spatula 😍 Is there a link for it?
I think you are talking about the danish dough whisk. Amazon has them :)
@@jessicaruthknitspodcast No the spatula she uses to flip the salmon patties (and pretty much everything else 😆) idk why but I feel like I need it.

Ha ha! I'm glad to hear that someone else is weirded-out by the little salmon bones. : )
My mom never took them out and I would gag when I crunched down on one. We have salmon patties often and I always remove the spine!
They're so gross! I have to remove the skin too. That wigs me out as well.
