Still using my 13 mini and don't plan on changing anytime soon. Tried 14pro and 15 and both times went back to the 13 mini purely because of size. Will use now until support ends.
same. ive had mine since launch and i don't think i'll upgrade for years to come. ...unless of course a new mini is released then yes, i will upgrade immediately LOL
Waiting until a mini size iPhone comes with a 5000mAH. The size is just unbeatable. Until then I’m sticking with my 13 mini - just changed the battery!
I'm going to hold on to my 13 mini as long as it's supported, possibly for as long as bank and ticked apps still work on it. I have zero interest in upgrading to the oversized bricks they are pushing today.
I upgraded my 13 mini to a 15 pro this year after the release of the 16 series, for me it was much more worth it to save some money and go with the pro version instead of the 16 base, I love the 120hz display, the always on and the Dynamic Island is more useful then what I was thinking Pretty happy with the upgrade is just the size that I still love the 13 mini
If apple brings an iPhone mini refresh like the iPad mini 7, I'd be thrilled. I'll take minor, incremental improvements as long as they maintain the form factor. If that never comes, I'll get the latest smallest pro model when the 13mini loses support or it breaks.
I replaced the battery on my iPhone 13 mini last week. Battery health back at 100%. Am now getting 24-36 hours between charges with light usage (5-6 hours of on-screen time, excluding screen off-time). My battery health seriously sucked before the replacement (I’d need to re-charge by midday, after about 3 hours or so of on-screen time). With the new Apple-fitted replacement battery the mini is still snappy enough for me and the photos, while obviously could be better, do the job. Intend to hold out for the iPhone Air and squeeze another 12-18 months out of the mini 📱
@ if the SE4 ends up being around as light as the 16 then the weight difference in the hand will make adjusting to it pretty easy. Accessibility shortcuts help with one handed use, the design having usb-c with a very minimal camera bump is what I’ll like the most.
Ugh I wish Apple will make a new mini. Absolutely love my 13 mini and holding on to it for dear life. The battery life isn't great at this point but there are no other options for smaller phones 😭
I’ve had my 12 mini since 2020 and I’ve loved it from the start. I just ordered the 16 pro today but if they had made a 16 pro mini (I’m after the cameras), I would love it.
I had a 12 mini for almost 2 years and I really liked that iPhone. I went to the 14 Plus for a bigger size iPhone without spending too much much and then went to the 15 Plus just because I upgraded every year. But this time around I went back down to the iPhone 16 because I really did miss a smaller phone. But now that I think about it I really should have went for the 13 mini instead of the 14 Plus what a great set of mini phones.
I have been looking for exactly this kind of a review for the past several months, so glad I finally found one. I have a 13 mini for almost 3 years now and finally feeling the battery running out. My battery health is at 75%. I hate the new camera button on the 16 lineup and also feel I don’t need the AI. Am also a long term user who doesn’t like upgrading their phone too often. I had fallen in love with the perfect size of the 13 mini but I feel am finally ready for a normal sized phone mainly because the smaller form factors cannot ever deliver a competitive battery life like the other models, I mean, there is literally no space for that kinda hardware. I’ve come to realise it’s a matter of priority, either the size or better battery and camera. Idk if I should buy the 15 pro, the 16 or just wait for 17.
I carry iPhone 13 mini. It should still be a viable choice up through 2030. I have a back up mobile line and I keep the SIM card in my 2016 iPhone SE 1st GEN. That little SE is so elegant and it has everything you might need to travel the world. You can do your banking, email and buy airline tickets. I have third GEN iPad Pro 11 inch for movies, editing photos, etc.. I carried a 13 pro for about six months. I did not like the weight of it. PS you can find some good videos comparing iPhone 13 and iPhone 16 cameras. From my experience, they take very similar pictures.
As a 13 mini enjoyer, I can't say how much I appreciate how direct this review is. Keep up the great work! Still gonna hold onto my mini on the chance Apple will have a small form factor refresh sometime in the next couple years.
Upgraded to 16 plus from the 13 mini, mainly because the regular 16 is already would have been a big stretch for 1 handed use so I chose the plus version. So far I pretty happy with it, especially the battery life. I just hope they won't bring back the mini version for a couple of years because I couldn't resist the temptation :)
For my Apple phone I'm keeping my 13 mini at least till 17 or 18 comes out I don't know I don't see any reason to upgrade like the cameras are good enough The battery is good enough for me but thanks for the video
I am in the same boat - love my 13 mini (Red) but starting to feel its age. I have resigned myself to upgrading. However, I keep wavering between 16 Pro and basic 16. Would appreciate a 13 mini to 16 Pro comparison, especially with that gorgeous Nomad Magnetic Back 😉 (already bought one without the 16 Pro 😅).
I’m doing a bunch of tests between all of these phones and have a few videos on each of them through the next few weeks. I’m current testing the 16 Pro and I think this is the final switch. My one problem with the mini was camera quality and I’m extremely happy with the 16 pro. Not as portable but I’ve gotten used to the size and way more manageable than the Pro Max.
New iphones doesn't appeal me because of the size. Switched before from 5s to 6s plus and while it is great when watching videos, it is too cumbersome to be inside my pocket. I sold it and bought a first gen SE then the 12 mini. I still use both SE and mini because they are so convenient.
Have a 12 mini that seems to be just fine for my needs. I looked at the 16 lineup and was considering upgrading but was not overly impressed with new tech. I do not use the camera as a professional would or even an amateur enthusiast . I take regular layman's photos of grandkids and fall color changes for examples. For now I have decided to wait to see what comes in the future and I will keep my 12 mini in tip top shape as I have done for the past few years. Will change the battery when it goes below 80% max. I like the smaller size as a 73 year old 5'8in male whose arthritic hands find the smaller size more manageable . Thanks for the video.
I'm in this boat. If I could keep the 13 Mini for some purposes, and get the 16 for others, with the same (or second forwarded) phone numbers, I'd do it. Please do the other video with the 16 Pro, as that's my current debate - 16 vs 16 Pro.
I just bought a 13 mini upgrading from a Redmi note 10 pro. From 6.67 inches to just 5.4. A huge transition but i like it so far. Maybe a 5.7 inch mini is a more appropriate size but it's not a major complaint.
I'm still using a 12mini. Does everything i need & works well. With my use the battery is fine. Only problem is I have put a hairline crack in the screen. Happy to wait to see if there is an SE.
so... you asked if I was upgrading to the 16... nah I downgraded from the 14 pro max to the Xs, and I LOVE 3d touch, and in my opinion, the X and Xs were Apple's best design, I love the notch, and the shiny iPhone text on the back. Battery life is surprisingly not that bad, and I make it through my day just fine. It is a little slow, but after all that's kind of a benefit because it keeps me off my phone. I do want to try the 13 mini now though, because I just want a tiny phone, and I've tried the SE gen 3 in the past and it was small enough, but the screen is pretty bad by my standards (I hate LCD's). Not planning on upgrading to a current iPhone for a long time, I don't like the way Apple is going with bigger phones. Staying on iOS 17 (for performance reasons) and staying strong on my Xs :D
Staying put on the 12 mini with a new battery. I have no hopes in a small SE again and will have to plunge into a pro when this phone dies or when the supported iOS becomes eol. If Apple made the next SE a next gen pro-guts with mini case with a price between next- gen pro and non pro , that would be awesome but I feel the marketing types don’t value what we value. One hand functionality and primarily utilitarian use
Love my 13 mini.. I still have hope that they will bring it back (maybe as an SE) but apart from the camera there is not too much that would entice me to upgrade. The newer phones are just too large. I'm holding off for as long as I can.
I rationalized the 15 pro upgrade in a similar way this spring. I went back to the mini. I do buy the pro max each year for the winter. I then sell it and use the mini for the summer I ll keep it
I upgraded my iPhone 12 to iPhone 16. Also having an S23 Ultra, I don't find it necessary to go for the pro model since all of my entertainment consumption is on the S23 Ultra. All I need is an upgrade for my 12 since it's a 4 yrs old phone.
Currently i have an xs and with ios18 the battery life has decreased and gets hotter everyday. Right now i have 2 options: 13 mini or 16. I dont care about back cameras. I am so into selfies and practicity of using while having in my head. And of course the price. Would you do a review of selfie cameras? 🤔
im literally considering upgrading my 13 mini to the 16 pro. even after a fresh battery its still chugging a bit. would love to see the video on that value!
Maybe upgrading the features of the base model is a way to pull more people into using Apple AI. PS 13 mini is the best phone ever. I’ll keep using it.
