So the reputation of the name can't be ruined or tainted for the fans. What did they actually name the event? If it had Bridgerton in the event title someone should let Shondaland know.

Between a plane tickets that had to be booked and rebooked to fly from Florida to attend with my sister, my custom rose covered gown, hair, nails, makeup, shoes- and now dry cleaning to get out wet asphalt stains because valet was non existent. I even fell in the venue and ultimately had to leave because I cut myself due to the unregulated traffic and crowding. This was a complete nightmare and someone should be held responsible.

Aside from tickets, the costuming would have been expensive. Most women don't have ball gowns of the past centuries in their closets. Plus underclothes and accessories. Handbags, fans, handkerchiefs, jewelry, gloves and fascinators.
This is like that Willy Wonker ticketed event in Scotland......The annoying part is that it isn't that hard to do a Bridgerton themed event either.....The event organizer could have been at the door making sure only attendees got into the event. It's very easy to go to a thrift store and buy a suit with tails and a fancy dress for all the event organizers.....And the event organizers could have played most of the roles in the event.......Super, super easy event to get right with little cost.......and to have an exotic dancer at the event......R U kidding me?

Something similar to this happened to one of the Harry Potter Yule balls in Houston. There is a group that holds one that's actually well put together but one year some 'event planner' decided to try her hand at it, people thinking it was the original groups ball bought tickets and well.. it was a flop. The original venue wasn't booked so she had to scramble to find something and the one she did was too small for the amount of tickets sold.

I can talk to someone whose hosted larger scale events here their opinions as well about how to handle the logistics of everything so people don't end up financially in the dump, especially because it's an island, I don't want people stranded like that fyre fest bs 😅 maybe should work a plan ahead of time with an airline for a discount in an emergency if there's need. The massive Pokemon competition was held here with participants and visitors from all over the world. Just because you wouldn't do something doesn't mean others wouldnt

This is why you always have to look up previous events to protect yourself. If they don't have video of events, or at least a tour of what you will be getting then don't sign up. Also tell them as much. "It would be nice to see photos and video of the venue so I can show my friends and maybe we can all plan to come." There are some fairy balls and such in my area and while they look fun on the surface the vids they have are pretty lackluster with about 35-50 attendees and basic hotel food with drapery and lighting.
I've been to Detroit, I didn't find it unpleasant so much as extremely run down. It's hayday is past, it has yet to find a new identity and that is glaringly obvious.
My friend went to this and she was so disappointed. She said someone came from Hawaii to attend cuz her sister lived here so they attended 😵 can you imagine coming all the way from Hawaii to Michigan to attend a Bridgerton event and they have minimal decorations, undercooked food, pay for drinks bar when it was supposed to be open and random people walking in off the streets to look around while no one even checks the ticket you paid to attend?! 😨

I went to the Bridgerton experience in Atlanta and it was done by Fever Up. I had a great time. They go to other big cities and do all types of events. Ive also been to a Little Mermaid themed speakeasy by them. I hate that they were scammed like that.

It's Detroit. I wouldn't have thought anything like that was real from the get go. Also, the home address of the "co-owner" is obviously in a low income neighborhood and to put on a Bridgerton themed event would've required a lot of capital up front. This LLC was created as a scam and these people unfortunately aren't getting their money back.
