Lee Haney had mass with class. Plus everything I have ever heard he is a class act as a person. I love his legs. I think today the guys legs are so big (also their gut) that it doesn’t improve their physique. Bigger isn’t always better. Lee is my favorite Mr. Olympia.

A point Dorian lovers never take into consideration is that Haney left Weider and went with twin labs. Dorian was being pushed by Weider to win, every magazine hyped up Dorian. Listen to Vince Taylor say it in an interview "Joe Weider while oiling Dorian remarked if you win the Olympia I give you an extra 50k". Haney was supposed to lose but Twin Labs also had their wits they asked can Haney win without supporting Weider? Haney was so spot-on they had to Judge fairly and so the best man won. He beat Dorian in spite of Ben Weider and that is why he retired, that is why Lee Haney is great.
Bullshit. Dorian actually won muscularity round. If they wanted him to win then they would give him symmetry or posing round to him too. Dorian was already better in 91 than Lee in muscularity. He also was rarely the most ripped guy in the 80s, and we all know by the 90s the standards for conditioning were much higher than 80s...so its fair to assume he could never get grainy granite like dorian or have great legs,aka he would be beatable..

Dorian always said you you can only build what your basic structure will allow you to build. Even before he started training, Dorian was built like a door, straight up and down, about as far from a Michelangelo sculpture as you could get.

His massive ribcage also a big help. His hips were a little wider than Ronnie's but this just means that his bubble gut just didn't get out of proportion that fast. In 1991 5'11" Lee was 248lbs with a 30-31inch waist! Lee definitely would've won in 1992 because he would've stepped it up even harder than he did in 1991 to defeat Dorian Yates. In 1993 if Dorian would've brought his 263lbs physique from his famous black & white photo shoot then I think he would've beaten Lee but Lee still would've had 9 Olympia titles in a row. Lee was smart and retired young with the All-Time Record. He has no injuries or physical problems and lives a happy healthy life... here's some Olympia statistics that explain why Lee was the best Mr. Olympia of all. Lee competed in the Olympia 9 times and won 8 of them. Dorian competed 7 times and won 6. Ronnie competed in the Olympia a whole 16 times and won only 8 of them. Phil competed 12 times and only won 7... Lee has the highest winning percentage of all the Mr. Olympia champions making him the best and most dominant of his era with Arnold and Dorian being 2nd & 3rd most dominant. If these were Superbowl games or NBA finals then you'd be able to say that Ronnie lost twice as many titles as he won and Phil almost twice as many too... Lee Haney was a great competitor and a great champion.
Had Arnold continued with his bodybuilding career after 1975 and trained another 2 years without stoping ...we may have witnessed the absolute best version of Arnold that we had ever seen. Imagine Arnold twice as good as he was in 1974 ?

He made the decision together with his wife and it was to retire immediately after beating Arnold's record, because bodybuilding is cruel and the sooner you get out, the better. Haney won 8 straight Olympia titles, all of which undisputed, from only 9 appearances. On top of that he was getting better every year and retired at just 31. Ronnie, Arnold and Dorian all had titles that were gifted to them and when they retired they were finished. Phil's titles are legit, but he's got a handful of losses too and he's already way past his prime. Haney remains forever the GOAT. Comparing this pre-HGH Haney with the HGH monsters that came after is unfair. Haney could've jumped on the HGH too and extended his reign into the 90's. He was smart though. He broke the record and retired. Now he's healthy and happy.

I have a lot of respect for Haney, but he won those Olympias mostly due to his height and size advantage over the competition. Thing about Lee was he was so well proportioned he didn't look huge. However he was 5'11 @ 255 lbs of lean contest weight. The man was MASSIVE!

Actually, Haney was 31 years old when he won his eigth Olympia. So he retired at 31. He was not even in his bodybuilding prime yet!

Arnold didn't finish when he retired lol. He retired as a champion both at 1975 and 1980 and could've won 13-14 Olympia if not went to movie
