- In this short excerpt from an interview, Sir Christopher Lee sits down with Austrian Journalist Matthias Greuling to talk about films, his favorite Music (Beethoven), viennese dialect and working at the movies aged 91. Christopher Lee was awarded the Excellence Award Moet & Chandon at the 66th Locarno Film Festival on Aug 7th, 2013. The interview took place on the same day around noon at the Hotel Eden Roc in Ascona.
He can talk about music, the war, history... I will listen.
Excellent, Lord Tyranus...
It's funny to think he was swinging a light saber about in his 80s
One of the greatest voices of cinema.
Spokesperson from Heaven confirmed that this was God and they needed him back.
“I’ve done just about everything possible in the musical world.” Except for hip hop. He should have challenged Eminem to a rap battle. But I’ll bet Eminem would have said “no, he’s way more badass than I’ll ever be.”
He would just slay Eminem. With his slowest and deepest bass voice.
Yes German is a hard language! I love you so much Christopher Lee❤
One of the greatest English actors and all round top chap.
Not only a brilliant awesome actor but a wonderful cheeky sense of humor.
Rest in peace you blessed man. Though you fought the Germans once, you held no ill will for your former enemy and respected him and his culture. That makes you truly a greater man than most. God bless you and RIP
venator0405 do you really have/need to use that avatar? what's your angle?
JoeTyler85 Believe it or not, I can have whatever avatar I want, and I do not have an angle.
@@venator0405 you are a dimwit
What an amazing man, I couldn't believe when I heard he makes metal.
You were one of the voices that stuck with me the most from when I was young. I will never forget you.
Thank you, sir Christopher. RIP
Christopher is great actor.I love his long fingers and the heredy ring,
Lovely man lovely man , will be utterly missed
It's remarkable that he's so strong at 91. Amazing man!!
So, not only is the man over 90 years old and a theatrical knight, he also speaks 6 languages, he's an operatically trained bass and his favourite composer is Beethoven. As if I needed anymore reasons to love this man....
"Charlemagne: The Omens of Death" is on iTunes. If you like his voice and heavy metal, you should check it out. That dude is AWESOME! There will never be another Christopher Lee.
"Beethoven is God."
Mr. Lee, you are, as always, exactly on the mark.
Incidentally I've used precisely Beethoven's music in the video compilation of Christopher Lee's filmography m.ua-cam.com/video/LeoCvNvahD8/v-deo.html
I just love the breadth of this man's cultural involvement. From classical to heavy metal.
It is a pity Christopher didn't do a biopic film about himself also Peter Cushing should of done one as well.
Gail Jacqueline Mrs Gray There is one Film, its called Christopher Lee and his many Faces
@@Albeavier I have that on DVD it do not show his his childhood and up to date.

Mr. Scaramanga!
I like listening to Christopher Lee talk about his passion for music.
His voice is so good... voice of Saruman!
Yeah, and I hate to say it, but Eli is in better shape than Christopher.
In recent years Christopher has become much more frail.
But its amazing to see Eli Wallach, he is completely on the ball and walking around without a cane.
Both are amazing of course.
he is 91 years old !!!!!
Yeah. Watch his recent BAFTA appearance (I think last year). Very frail, can hardly walk.
Kirk Douglas is in better shape nowdays.
Who gives a fuck what you think, respect the man as he is and stop comparing you idoit!
Cant believe this guy is over 90 years old. Amazing!
Rip!! Check out my memorial video
alter schwede, er macht bayrisch oder? He speaks with an bavarian accent
Thanks for this interview.
Where can we see the full interview?
Also, Sir Christopher Lee is amazing. I don't think there's a single language, accent or dialect that he cannot speak. (I have to agree on the part of German grammar being difficult, I feel the same way - and I AM German!)
Do you know what he's saying at the beginning of the video? I've watched the beginning so many times and have been trying to understand what he's saying.
@@EdellaFinSonaan95 I am German myself, and have my dear troubles understanding people from Vienna when they pull out their accent - but it sounds like: In mein Zimmer hin dort drüben, dass ich die Antwort dann diktier. (Which seems to be part of the Opera "Der Rosenkavalier").
Count Dooku. :(
Count dooku
***** Didn't he play Dracula once?
Gunnery Sgt Hartman several times. You show your ignorance.. Sir Christopher lee is the SECOND English actor to play Dracula.. After Bela Lugosi. Sir Christopher lee is a GIANT of Cinema!
He asked a stupid question. He simply could have googled "Christopher Lee" and Dracula would have been the first thing to pop up.

Iain Inkster a real swordfight? o.O
oooh, thanks ;)
Mine are quite the same. Not so uncommon I think.
He has hands like my son,
What a weird comment lol
christoher lee my hero
Eli Wallach is over 97 years old.
Теперь оба мертвы(
I wish he was still with us, I miss him very much.
Great clip could you perhaps post the full interview? Thanks
One of the last giants. Respect is an understatement.
😭
Die Fledermaus - Johann Strauss II
RIP :(
R.I.P. Ansem the Wise.
he walks with a cane?
German
He speaks german?
He was basically a British spy in world war 2 so that could be partly why, and then furthered by his affection for the arts and admiration of the language.
he's fluent in French and German
Lawrence Cardinaels I believe he speaks something like half a dozen or more languages, including some Russian and Italian.
He spoke 6 languages
I only speak English but I don't care what language he speaks, I'll still watch him
