Cobbs stage 2 package doesn’t have a down pipe, just a front mount intercooler, an upgraded air filter and obviously the software. Is the down-pipe not necessary?
Cobbs stage 2 is a bit different and doesn’t require a downpipe for stage 2. For the EQT tune(that uses the accesport) only necessary mods are an aftermarket downpipe and 1 step colder plugs. Highly recommended to do is upgraded intercooler and inlet pipe
Diego, bro I’ve been watching your videos and I swear I’m this close to going straight from stock to stage 2. How’s the maintenance looking on after the tune. Also can I still add the cts cold air intake and inlet Pipe without any tubes. Thanks again for the videos.
I’m in the states! So for stage 2 you only really need a downpipe and colder plugs. So if you’re doing this the most budget friendly way you’re looking at about $2k depending on what parts. For me tuning was about $1k downpipe was $500 and plugs about $80 so you’re looking at $1600 (not including labor if you don’t do it yourself)
So I’ve already planned that I’ll be getting an Audi s3 this year for sure. I also want to tune it and I’ve been looking into it a lot. Since I’m still kinda new, would you mind telling me everything that is needed for stage 2? Also I’ve heard of ACU, EQT, and all these other names.. what’s the difference ?
So it all depends what you’re looking for .. the most power possible, reliability etc etc.. so for stage 2 you only need an aftermarket catted or catless downpipe.. colder spark plugs are very recommended I would do it.. the best benefits though would be also getting an intake, inlet pipe and intercooler too which will help with heat soak and what not.. EQT is amazing with the power you get from their tune
I’ve done a little over 1k miles only on my setup with no issues ... long term I’m assuming will be fine as long as maintenance is kept up with.. I wouldn’t worry! The tune is great and the customer service too
@@ImpulsePressureWashing Ive put like 20k miles on my stage 2 tune Most important thing is to get the dsg tune as well. I still have stock intercooler and intake and dont get heatsoak
I have a 2016 S3, I am stage 2 E30 from EQT, I have intake, Intercooler, inlet pipe, Downpipe (catless), and turbo muffler delete (not really needed did it for fun). Installs everything myself because it’s pretty easy (except for the Downpipe. The car is really reliable and loves the power, just remember to service the DSG every 35k miles or so. also carbon cleaning around 50k.
Thanks man! And tbh I didn’t notice a timing when flooring it may just be weird audio that the camera picks up because at least me driving in person there aren’t any weird noises
Nice!!!! I got my downpipe catback front mount ready to install I also got 2 stage 2 tunes from EQT im just waiting on ups to reimburse me for the internal HPFP I have 93 and E85. Did you go 93 or e85? Or both as well?
Hey just got a question I’m running the same set up as you, and was wondering on 93 pump gas ie downpipe and intercooler and cts intake, I wanna replace spark plugs but what did you do for gap and which plug
I’m currently running the oem rs7 spark plug and they are gapped to .024 . The plugs will usually come gapped correctly but you need to check just in case as in my situation I had 2 plugs gapped to .024 and 2 gapped to .026
It’s funny you comment this. My friend and I went today to go look at the gti and a golf r and he was debating it too. Let’s just say we didn’t leave with the gti lol … I feel the extra money is worth the upgrade to the golf r or s3 imo
So here’s my suggestion ... join the EQT Facebook group.. you will see how many people make the switch from IE to EQT.. IE is good but the power isn’t comparable tbh .. might be a biased answer but many knowledgeable people in the group and they can answer whatever you need. The car is brutal with the tune
Dhillon, they are both great options, the advantage with EQT/Cobb is the availability to sell it and make a chunk of your money back, plus the availability to custom tune or try a different tuner, also you can get E30 if E85 is available. Diego, great video man, I went from stage 1 to stage 2 and really didn’t felt a big difference, the E30 did felt a huge gain in the top end, it will feel like a beast. 👍🏻
Thanks man! And agreed EQT is very user friendly and also the tuners are great with customer service. Great power and easy to work with.. they look at logs for you if needed etc. amazing !
So far for mods I have.. CTS downpipe, CTS intake, CTS inlet pipe, RS7 spark plugs.. BUT all you need for a stage 2 tune is the downpipe and plugs for cylinder knock.. all the rest is nice supporting
@@DArias thanks for replying bro and thanks for the info im looking to see who to tune with its EQT or sneekytuned but im definitely seeing eqt reliability.
It depends my best was around a 3.9 but that was in the cold and it spun all 1st gear. In warmer weather it’s easily a mid 3 sec 0-60. Even seen some people get a 3.3
@@DArias Why would warmer weather yield better times? Isn't cold air better for performance? Would better tires in the colder weather yield better results?
Just with the downpipe you’ll be about 400 that’s correct.. obviously more bolt ons like intake, inlet pipe, intercooler, colder plugs etc will give you a little more kick snd room for more aggressive tuning.. but these cars typically on a stage 2 93 file with only downpipe can get up to about 360-380whp and on e30 over 400whp
E30 needs to come now! That’ll be insane to be honest
That’s the plan! I’m gonna be ordering a fuel it monitor for it so I’m accurate on e30 reading
EQT Cult for the win!
Always!!! Lol
That’s only a stage 2 tune? The Speedo jumps so quickly lol. Must be a blast right now
Yes haha stage 2 93 tune ! And yes it’s super fun to drive
Hard work pays off brotha 🤙🏼🤙🏼
Thank you brotha 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Okay the Speedo jump proves its fast lol thing moves! I bet it launches insanely too
It’s quick! And I haven’t actually launched it yet after tuning the car I’m super curious haha

Use relative manifold pressure instead of boost pressure.
Yessir.. have been using that monitor already as I was told it’s more accurate than boost pressure .. you are correct
What’s the name of the gauge on the cob access port that you use to find knock?
Love the car what’s the ringing noise when you floor it? Crazy car tho👍🏼

low on fuel
It’s not the camera audio , I have the same high pitch tone after stage 1 tuned my S3 happens on full boost but unsure what is it
If he has a turbo inlet , that’s what it is. After my turbo inlet pipe , at full boost my turbo kinda makes whine noise, it’s normal and sounds dope.
