  • The first round of my first boxing match, at Gleason's. For those who have not been following me, I've taken about 3 months of boxing. My love is truly Muay Thai but I've learned a lot through boxing in this short time. Gio gave me a great challenge, loved fighting her.
Note: this fight was very short notice, which is why I don't have boxing shoes or shorts. I look like a dork, but fight like a geek :)

@grkchick Thanks, Lady! My next opponent in muay Thai is also a south paw, so hopefully I can utilize this advice immediately.

@phoLegit No, I never boxed before - this was my first boxing match. Yes, very different from muay Thai!

Did you box before? The dynamics of boxing and muay thai are completely different.

I admire you for giving it a shot, but Boxing and Muay Thai are very different arts. You need to be really confident with your hands and foot work. Utilizing the center of the ring puts you in control of the fight. Yes, because your opponent was a south paw a liver shot would of worked beautifully. In the future in shadow boxing and using the bag, practice pivoting. This help you in moving around the ring better and avoid punches to the head. =)
