Mother Africa continue to rest in peace, your voice and your work will continue to echo all over the continent of Africa and the world. We love you. * Thanks for sharing.
Her artistry is on her own league!! She owns everything she does on the stage, the singing, facial expression, everything !! Amazing, simply amazing!!!!!
To think that South Africa doesn't feed their offspring Makeba.. Says a lot about why African history in general is always written by haters and others.. Makeba is a falling tower.. Nonke niwa naye.. This woman deserves a monument as brilliant and bright as the Sun itself.
I grew up listening to this. Amazing music. I sing this but don't know what I'm saying. My favorite is the Flea song so funny. I hope they never take this video away. TFS
Leopoldo "Poldo" Fleming is the name of the percussionist. Both himself and his father Leo Fleming (bass), consider themselves from Puerto Rico. But, their roots are from a very musical family in St. Thomas.
not really sure how you can not like this. Even if it isn't considered to be her best performance let's appreciate that we have something of her from so long ago.
Letter by Prefer Anonymus: Dear Mr.Spyros Peter Goudas I never heard about this woman, Miriam Makeba in my life. The beautiful logo with her name aroze my curiosity and I click on. Is coronavirus lockdown and I had the time to spear. I spent days and nites with (Mama Africa) Miriam Makeba I don't want to post any comments because are thousand in every video and 99.9 percent they're positive. This woman is IN PARADISE NOW and has a meeting with GOD drinking some umgombothi and discasing the latest issue about George Floyd, police brutality, and more. I hope between her and God they will come with a solution to save the world. One thing I notice the protesters all over the world, whites, and blacks had the same numbers in attendance, which is very positive. www.flyermall.com/companies/1754/112/MIRIAM-MAKEBA
Subdued ,almost suppressed, stilted.Missing many of her great songs:Malaika, Pata Pata ,Ring Bell 🔔, I Shall Sing.Click Song sang much too quickly.Audience seemed lethargic. Her best live concert was Paris ,1977.,
in a response to a request shouted out by a concert attendee, joni mitchell asked if you would ask Van Gogh to paint "A Starry Night" again. nuff said. she sings what she chooses . . . .

People's behaviour was slightly different in those days, except for the teenagers' re pop culture
Thank you for the info on her 1977 Paris concert. I love her. No matter what language she sings she touches your soul.

Stilted? Suppressed? ABSOLUTELY NO WAY!
