Love the review, i just bought the six one 95. It's a beauty of a racquet, it looks really good, love the cosmetic. About the racquet itself, it plays really stable, even with the 18x20 string patern you have a decent amount of spin. Even throught it's a stiff racquet i didn't feel any kind of pain in my elbow (which i do with the RF97), good power but it's on the lower side, i will try lead tape later. Really good feeling racquet, the conection with the ball is great. The downside is that is too demading, if it's right on your wheelhouse it's a must try, and the other problem is the price, even amount racquets it's a really expensive one, so only if You Will commit to this racquet it will be worth spending so much

I also agree with you on the volleys, for me it's definitely a balance issue. If I were to get one of the three pro labs racquets I'd probably get the six.one, I've played with the HPS 6.1 when I was young and liked it very much. I remember it hitting a very powerful ball and although I didn't know about racquet flex then, it was nothing like the stiffer racquets of today.

I do own two Ultra Pro 97 18×20 I really enjoy them.great rackets solid frame you can go for tour shots.I string them with a Hybrid of Luxilon Alu Power in the mains and Luxilon 4 G in the at 45 lbs and works like a Rolex.all this Pro Labs line from Wilson is excellent.the racket itself reminds me a lot from tje Head Pro Tour 280 great Racket from the 90 nineties Guga U used it and won his first Roland Garros in 1997 Thomas Muster used it too so many other players.Nicolas From Argentina.Send Good Vibes to our enormous Delpo hopefully he can comeback soon to a Tennis Court.

PT is more rock solid, the swingweight is just about 331, not super unstable , just ever so slight I used 6.1 long ago so i love this frame, but the price difference wouldnt be worth it since the PT2.0 experience is also high up there More penetrating power for sure, feel is going to be much more crisp and direct with not so much ball pocketing What you're really paying for is the paintjob, since this is basically a reissue not a modernised 6.1, you might be better off buying the 2017 red/white reissue for like nearly half the price i've yet t get around to my full playtest, still alot on my hands with Blade Pro full indepth review, but as i swap out strings, my opinion may change just to let you know!
Ultra Pro is a very advanced control racquet , if you have RF97 maybe you'll enjoy Blade Pro Or Pro Staff 315 is also good, kind of like an easier to use Ultra Pro

I use the Wilson Pro Staff 97 Countervail with Diadem Flash in mains and Tecnifibre Black code in cross. Have you used this racket? What do you think the difference is with the model you have in the video vs the previous model that I use? I love the balance of the racket, feels awesome! My last PS I used was Wilson Hyper Carbon Pro Staff 95.... that racket was amazing too!
The one in the video is actually a re issue of the Hyper Pro Staff with the new paint job haha, so you'd be right at home with it, but it obviously is expensive as to buy instead of just using the old ones the latest Pro Staff 97 v13 just released going to be quite similar to what you have, except your one is very muted in feel because of the counterveil tech, the newest one removes that tech, so it has a little more feel to the ball, not a ton more, but noticeable - playwise it will come out similar, but maybe a little less power and more control because the main strings in the middle are slightly tighter together IMO not worth getting the new v13 if your ones are still in good shape and you enjoy it - if you do want more feel in the same package, the previous version to your model was the original Pro Staff 97 (red/black) one might be half the price on 2nd hand market to buy & also has even more feel than the current v13 Hope that doesn't confuse you LOL
seems like the Pro Staff 97 v13 would be in between the Ultra Pro 16x19 and the Blade Pro 16x19 right? stiffer and more powerful than Ultra but thinner, easier to use and smaller headsize than Blade Pro. Also I read it has more control now than before ( dont know if its enough, didnt have any control for me last version ) , maybe because im used to 18x20 lol Would be a great racquet to review with those, great video!

May I ask a couple of questions about the 6.1 95 please. Do you, or your friend, know if the version you can get at many places for around just $100 is a real version / has the same quality graphite etc? Since the Pro is $250 and previous official versions were >$150, I wonder if they've saved money somewhere on the current re-issue? Hopefully, it is. Secondly, on the basis that 'you can never lower SW when adding weight', I wondered how the 6.1 would swing if you lightened the handle area by using a thinner grip, or two overgrips, rather than the Sublime it comes with. Would you be able to give it a go assuming that would reduce the weight by about 5g, hence shifting the balance a couple of points towards the head and necessarily lowering the SW a fraction. I just wondered if that may make the head feel a little more solid, but without actually taxing you as the static weight should be around 345g. Cheers.
There was a re-issue in 2017 for a much cheaper price, so it's surprising that this one was very expensive, just because they put on a new cosmetic They're all the same, all good quality racquets, most of them play relatively with the same characteristics, just some changes in stiffness / feel and power and stability, not a ton different though From my experience of lightening racquets from the handle, i don't think it changes the way the head feels, because at the end of the day, the original weight still remains at the head, i do that with alot of my racquets - with the 6.1, you need it to play with mass, that is how it gets its power / plow and stability, when you start removing from it, it ruins it a bit - 6.1 95 usually best around stock, no necessary changes needed

3&9 is immediate for decreasing the twisting, so yeah basically direct stability, but adding lead in the hoop in general will increase some quality of stability It doesnt matter if you add under head guard, just the higher up the lead the higher the swingweight points it will increase, 12 would be most immediate power, 10&2 is balance of the two, stability will generally have the most significance at 3&9, but some racquets may be less in the top of head
How similar is that pro stock Wilson Six one 95 to the last 2017 18x20 Six one 95? Is it the same racquet? To me the specs look exactly the same. Nice video btw.
Play wise it's basically the same, the only major difference is feel, but these ones are a solid and high quality as any pro stocks i ever tested, great releases IMO

@@clarencefong1107 Because of it's launch angle and lack of spin potential i like anywhere between 40-46bs , just go with higher tension range if you want more control, but i think it has plenty I also prefer to use 18g or 1.15mm strings, that helps me generate alot more top spin and actually ends up being a pretty powerful racquet, but with lots of control - Msv focus hex soft 1.15mm - Tour bite 1.15mm - Hyper G 1.15mm - Dunlop black widow 1.18mm But if you like a lower launch angle, stick with any usual 1.25mm (16L) string and it'll be relatively similar with different strings

The only issue is that I am starting to suffer a bit of left wrist pain, probably from my double handed backhand as I am a right hander. I am a 4.0 level player that play an all round game. I am wondering would you recommend me to try the Solinco Confidential on my TF 40? I heard the Confidential is a little bit softer and provide better ball pocketing with a little less control. I just want to know your experience with the Confidential. Do you think it will be a good string for the TF 40?
@@clarencefong1107 Ive had a set of confidential laying around forever haha but havent had a chance to try it because of the lockdown - i think its definitely worth a shot, arm and wrist issues will be the complete wrecker to your tennis enjoyment, do anything to avoid having those issues - could also try tour bite soft in 17g as well
My current Wilson blade 18x20 v7 specs are around 333g 341sw Would the new blade pro specs be similar? Edit: I recommend using Kirschbaum Pro Line Evolution 17 (1.25) String in the blade at low tension, it feels plush and great! I went with my usual tension of 48lb
I think you could be fine in terms of swinging it, depends what game style you are if thats the case - this one will be less forgiving and you need to be quite precise, but if you already are like that, then you might like it alot as the feel is much more connected than the v7 blades being muted 🙂
I play my Wilson blade 18x20 v7 at around 340 g strung. And have the pretty much same specs on this blade 18x20 pro. They both play well and I like them a lot, I think the only difference is that the pro one feels crisp in the head, and the regular one feels more muted. I personally like the pro one a little bit more but it really depends on what you like. I think k play pretty similar with these rackets the pro just sounds and play little bit crisper in the head. And the head shape is more rounded.
@@jonathanchen1026 Some people prefer the muted feel - anyway i added some weight to the handle today, it makes it much easier to handle that's for sure
RF97 will have a bigger sweet spot / more forgiveness, alot more spin, quite a bit more power, less control, a bit more harsh on the arm, and not as easy for serving
@@ACTennis thanks for that. Although that £320 price point is very off-putting considering you can get the 2016 6.1 reissue for around £80( albeit not as beautiful a paintjob) or that you can get the previous RF's for less than half the price of the Pro Labs 6.1

As someone who has a science based background.....if you realise how dangerous LEAD is.... you will love a racket like this that doesn't need customisation. You can't wash lead off with normal soap guys.
Probably looking at a lower powered soft poly, like T1 Ghostwire or Speed Cream, the other ones i mentioned are more power orientated, as usually a softer poly will provide more pop than the usual firmer poly

Thanks! i wouldve reviewed the TF40 already but missed out on 3 months of hitting from lockdown, i'll see if i can get through all my current ones first and get around to it, but actually TF40 is probably in my top 3, and would be top 2 if it was a 16x19 - vcore pro 310 is also great in it's own right 🙂

@@clarencefong1107 Because of it's launch angle and lack of spin potential i like anywhere between 40-46bs , just go with higher tension range if you want more control, but i think it has plenty
I also prefer to use 18g or 1.15mm strings, that helps me generate alot more top spin and actually ends up being a pretty powerful racquet, but with lots of control
- Msv focus hex soft 1.15mm
- Tour bite 1.15mm
- Hyper G 1.15mm
- Dunlop black widow 1.18mm
But if you like a lower launch angle, stick with any usual 1.25mm (16L) string and it'll be relatively similar with different strings
@@ACTennis Thank you so much for your quick response. I currently string my TF40 with Tour Bite 17 gauge @ 52 lbs and it plays very well. Fantastic control, great feel and just enough power for me. The only issue is that I am starting to suffer a bit of left wrist pain, probably from my double handed backhand as I am a right hander. I am a 4.0 level player that play an all round game. I am wondering would you recommend me to try the Solinco Confidential on my TF 40? I heard the Confidential is a little bit softer and provide better ball pocketing with a little less control. I just want to know your experience with the Confidential. Do you think it will be a good string for the TF 40?
@@clarencefong1107 Ive had a set of confidential laying around forever haha but havent had a chance to try it because of the lockdown - i think its definitely worth a shot, arm and wrist issues will be the complete wrecker to your tennis enjoyment, do anything to avoid having those issues - could also try tour bite soft in 17g as well

My current Wilson blade 18x20 v7 specs are around 333g 341sw

Edit: I recommend using Kirschbaum Pro Line Evolution 17 (1.25) String in the blade at low tension, it feels plush and great!
I went with my usual tension of 48lb
I think you could be fine in terms of swinging it, depends what game style you are if thats the case - this one will be less forgiving and you need to be quite precise, but if you already are like that, then you might like it alot as the feel is much more connected than the v7 blades being muted 🙂
I play my Wilson blade 18x20 v7 at around 340 g strung. And have the pretty much same specs on this blade 18x20 pro. They both play well and I like them a lot, I think the only difference is that the pro one feels crisp in the head, and the regular one feels more muted. I personally like the pro one a little bit more but it really depends on what you like. I think k play pretty similar with these rackets the pro just sounds and play little bit crisper in the head. And the head shape is more rounded.

@@jonathanchen1026 Some people prefer the muted feel - anyway i added some weight to the handle today, it makes it much easier to handle that's for sure
how does the 6.1 95 and the rf97 compare?
RF97 will have a bigger sweet spot / more forgiveness, alot more spin, quite a bit more power, less control, a bit more harsh on the arm, and not as easy for serving
@@ACTennis thanks for that. Although that £320 price point is very off-putting considering you can get the 2016 6.1 reissue for around £80( albeit not as beautiful a paintjob) or that you can get the previous RF's for less than half the price of the Pro Labs 6.1

As someone who has a science based background.....if you realise how dangerous LEAD is.... you will love a racket like this that doesn't need customisation. You can't wash lead off with normal soap guys.
Which soft poly gives you most control?
Probably looking at a lower powered soft poly, like T1 Ghostwire or Speed Cream, the other ones i mentioned are more power orientated, as usually a softer poly will provide more pop than the usual firmer poly
try isospeed grey fire, although it's more medium than soft
