That post fight interview with Rory is soul crushing. You can hear the sadness in his voice, knowing that the thing he once loved wasn’t for him anymore. It’s a hard reality for anybody to deal with.

He found redemption in finding God, healing in meeting his wife, and purpose in having a family. In a way it hurts that he never won a ufc title, but Im happy with where he is now.
God was the worst thing that happened to the ufc that day
I'm really happy for Rory man, he fought at the pinnacle of the sport, produced some of the best MMA fights in existence and then slowly fizzled out on his own terms, seemingly fulfilled with the next chapter of life that he found purpose in, i'm not religious at all but i do understand that call to want something higher for yourself. It would have been far sadder to see him clinging onto an aging broken body, getting beat up every fight and maintaining the delusion he can keep up with the next generation. Atheist Rory was fun to watch, but baptized Rory is the real winner....Now if only Tony would do the same 😥
Not to mention, he made way more money fighting in Bellator and PFL than he likely would have made in the UFC.

Otherwise you'll be overlooked as just another hater that disliked him because he made some very questionable statements and posts. Is it weird? Yeah it is really weird behavior. However, difference is that Adesanya has all those title defense, I believe it was 7 title defenses, and now Strickland is now not the champ but a new champ from South Africa.
All I can say is that the middleweight division has woken up now and is becoming THE MOST interesting division in the UFC. A lot of badasses who could matchup in this year of 2024.

Also, we all know that 'contender' Izzy has a track record of being much more deadly when having a goal in mind. Show him his respect before he retires so that when he is gone for good you're not upset or mad about it. He said his goal was to clear out the division and make his own name as a goat in it and he's done that perfectly.
He avenged a heartbreaking KO loss to Pereira and came back stronger and more focused, and put him out cold in front of his kids. You ask me, they kinda deserved it for all the crap he let them talk to Izzy.
So, say whatever you want, write all the funny little lines roasting him for being a weirdo, but he's very much not going any where and he's going to still be back in the future as a contender for the title again because he's a high IQ fighter who knows how to use his mind and his footwork to get guys slipping.
Mark my word, your boy Strickland wouldn't fair well in a rematch when Adesanya has a full camp to prep for him.

I've watched so many videos (within a short span) on this channel. I have to say this channel excels so well in all avenues. You are truly talented. You have the ability to both elicit the saddest of sads (the CTE documentary) and yet get belly laughs from me in other videos (goat tiers and this video).
