Dr. Demento's set-up to "Belvedere Cruising" is great, too. He plays a Frankie Yankovic song, then mentions his next song happens to be by ANOTHER individual named 'Yankovic'. And history was made.
My first exposure to Al was on Dr. Demento's show one Sunday night, 'It's Still Billy Joel to Me'...voice and accordion...hilarious! So gratified to see he was carving out a genuine career for himself soon after. 😂✌😘🎶🎹🔥💞
I heard the name 'Weird Al' but didn't bother doing research in who he is, what he does , etc. Months later, I finally got curious. This made me read articles about him. (Well, mostly on Wikipedia) After that I was interested in him. Listened to his parody songs and original songs. I laughed and loved them. I will never regret knowing Al Yankovic. He is awesome.
@@violetsnotviolence I agree. I can't see it happening but oh how I wish it would. I personally suspect he is a secret (or at least accidental) adherent to "The Curly Girl Method".
violetsnotviolence do you think he curls his hair with a wand? I know he has naturally curly hair but something about his curls looks like they were perfected with a wand.
i love Weird Al as well i have been a fan for so long i don't even remember when i first became a fan i'm 40 so i was around in (1986) the 1st album of his that i remember coming out was Even Worse, but that's only because on how that one was such a huge hit for him and well the Video for Fat. but i'm 100% sure song wise that i had heard Like A Surgeon before and a few others as well but album wise it was Even Worse but i still don't own none of those sadly. the only ones i do own are Running with Scissors, Alpocoylpse and sorry for my shit spelling and Mandatory fun his last one which for me i think isn't one of his best albums. though it did give him his first #1 but than most of today's music i think sucks ass and when you copy today's music the album suffers. i wonder when his next one will come out?or if he's done making albums? it's been 5 years since he last put one out.
His curls look SO DAMN GOOD. I want to pay attention to what he's saying but I'm just watching them bounce so softly!!
Been a fan of Al since 1986. Seen him twice. Great guy.
do you mean met him twice or seen him twice in concert

One of the true treasures of American music, and a true gentleman.
Haha, it’s so cute that you two did the same thing with the radio under the blanket.
Still love Al, such an appreciative guy, very humble.
Still has that gorgeous hair.
He needs to drop that hair care regimen.
What a great opportunity. Very cool to hear him talk about this stuff. Great job.

Apropos of absolutely nothing, he has such gorgeous hair.
I am so envious of those perfect curls. I'm genuinely wondering what his hair care routine is.
@@fe5018 Same. It'd be cool if he could share it on his UA-cam channel.

@@BbGun-lw5vi It's possible. Maybe he does it for interviews and tv appearances.
Nice to witness Al as a normal guy and not WEIRD Al in the videos
So much greatness here, densely packed into this single clip. Interview magic. Bravo, bravo.
I believe they call this, an interaction between "kindered spirits".
Everyone loves this legend
And yet I think he still doesn't get ENOUGH love. I'm continually surprised by just how great a guy he seems.

This is what a great interview is all about.
I grew up with a transistor radio always to my ear. I miss the good old days.
I see what you did there, even if you may not.
Loved Dr. Demento... same thing, growing up with the clock radio on as quiet as possible, Sunday nights.
He is too funny! Would be fun to talk to him for awhile.
I watch Weird Al whenever I'm feeling depressed or sad. It works every time!!! Flight of the Conchords is also a favorite !!!!
Weird Al's movie UHF is a riot. Totally underrated.
love him
I'm so old I actually remember when Weird Al got his break on Dr. Demento...
I'm old also. I remember Dr. Demento and I remember they played a song called Kinko the Clown. Could never be made today.
Wow Simply wow 😭 .
Phil Hendrie was my late night radio comedy as a kid. It took me forever to figure out that he was basically a radio troll. So good.
Oh man, someone else has actually seen That Thing You Do?!
Zachary Robertson oh I love that movie!
It was alright the first time I saw it, and quite a bit better the second time. 😊
Everyone’s seen that movie!
Love it. Underrated classic. A family fav
Really good movie!
They seem to get along
He "leans into" the interview when actors generally don't.
Al Yankovic is the worlds greatest entertainer
When is the full episode being posted? I've looked everywhere for it
I've seen full episodes on Netflix if my memory serves me right. Look for behind the camera.
the people who thumbs downed this video are lost to the sands of time

I can't believe I have to pay money to watch the full episode on the website... So sad... X(
You sure are.
What is Sarah doing here instead of working at Imgur?
Too many reaction shots. Better to keep the cam on the guest while he is talking.
